"Rock Lee fans will hate this."
"Naruto (anime/manga) fans will hate this."
" (bla bla) fans will hate this."
Oh how I have heard so many misconceptions from die-hard Naruto fans complain and whine and diss this anime series. One fact man. No one cares!
Naruto: SD is A SPOOF. SIDE STORY. SPIN OFF.
From the main series of Naruto Shippuden.
You watch this if you want. You drop this if you want. You can't put words into other people's mouths just because you like/hate it.
You watch this anime from your own free will!
STORY: 8/10
Naruto: SD follows the main character Rock Lee and his team mates, Neji and TenTen.
Throughout all 51 episodes, we follow them in fun, stupid and humorous adventures and events throughout Konohagakure and their surrounding environment.
Each episode has a different theme. Each episode contains 2 stories following the theme, either recurring episodes or they are completely different. It is because of the constant changing of stories that each episode brings out, which makes Naruto: SD an interesting and fun anime to watch. You don't really know how it'll turn out, you don't even know what events will take place, even from the preview at the end of the episode.
It is because of this, that I give Naruto: SD an 8/10 for its use of fun and amusing story, for 51 episodes!
ART: 7/10
Naruto: SD. The SD stands for "super deformed."
Heck, this super deform means "chibi" which means "small."
A lot of die-hard Naruto fans get/are REALLY butt hurt at this, indicating that the art is dissing the characters.
Bro. Seriously. Who cares.
As a spoof spin-off of the main series. I thought the art style was pretty appropriate, since it revolves around Rock Lee. And hey, we all know Rock Lee is the hyper-go-lucky-care-free type of guy in Konohagakure, right?
I have no hate in the chibi-ised art style of it. I mean, it surely does GREATLY enhance the humor, stupidity and entertainment of the entire spoof series itself. It is because of this that I think Naruto: SD is successful, in a way. No one takes the characters seriously when they watch this, and even if they do... Well, I guess you won't be able to see the characters the same way once you watch Shippuden then.
I guess this is why I gave the art in Naruto: SD a 7/10.
I won't ever be able to see Orochimaru as being the same evil, suave villain the same way again (haha).
SOUND: 7/10
There is nothing more appropriate than birds crowing "あほう" (aho) which means "idiot" in Japanese in all 51 episodes. Regardless of that, Naruto: SD has provided us with idiotic bgm/sfx throughout all the episodes, with also the use of Shippuden OST.
There is nothing -wow- for sound/music in Naruto: SD. Nothing new. I thought it was pretty average in itself. I can't complain, I thought the music accompanied each stupid scene pretty well.
I give it a 7/10, for the over dramatised effects of sound throughout the series!
CHARACTER: 8/10
Naruto: SD contains characters from the canon "Naruto" series in itself. These characters are all the same; they act the same (most of them), they look the same, they talk the same and they even have the same voice actors.
The ONLY thing that is different however in SD is that a few characters like Neji, TenTen and Lee have side roles -- and these roles usually consist of the cross dresser, the punchline person and the skit creator. And well, those 3 roles are covered and hosted by no other than the 3 main characters of Naruto: SD!!
Naruto: SD is a fun series with a lot of comedic events which usually turns out to be stupid. I for myself grew watching Naruto (and Naruto: Shippuden) with no feelings grown for TenTen at all. However, after watching this series, it seems like I've grown to appreciate and like her character. Since we don't see much of Team Guy within Naruto: Shippuden, it was kind of great to see them in SD.
So, the characters in Naruto: SD are given an 8/10 -- it's great to see underrated characters finally getting some light!
ENJOYMENT: 8/10
Gosh, there is nothing better than "fun" and "entertainment" in enjoyment!
Naruto: SD is highly prone for its use of skits; harmless little dramatic jokes in a form of a play to spice up its use of its comedic genre. And our Rock Lee does that for you! His biggest victim for his skits is dear old Neji -- as a cross dresser. And then we also have TenTen who throws punchlines and remarks at all the idiotic things Lee does within his skits.
From here, all out butt hurt anti's throws whining remarks at the way Neji is portrayed (because of the event that took place in Chapter 614 of the Naruto manga -- beware it's a spoiler), and other butt hurt things they get butt hurt about.
Regardless of it all, I personally found Naruto: SD to be a HIGHLY amusing series to watch. I thought it was cleverly made. I thought it was brilliantly put. I can't argue about it, if you really want a laugh, then watching SD is for you!
That is why I give Naruto: SD an 8/10 for enjoyment -- as a fan of the Naruto anime as well as Rock Lee, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this!
OVERALL: 8/10
Overall, I thought Naruto: SD was a brilliantly put spoof spin-off series.
It was pretty sad when it finally ended, going back to the canon series of Shippuden I would have to endure more fillers and slow progressing story.
Nevertheless, I am anticipating the day the final episode of Naruto: SD would be showcased in the Shippuden itself; obviously not with Lee vs Sasuke, but with Naruto.
Though a stupid series with a lot of butt hurt anti's, I thought Naruto: SD is a fun and entertaining series to watch. With lots of laughter and random stuff going around, if you want a break of Naruto, or see a lighter side of them, then Naruto: SD is the way to go!
And overall, I give Naruto: SD an 8/10 as its final mark.
A worthwhile series that is definitely worth a praise, whether your are a fan of Naruto or Rock Lee or not!

If you're a fan of Naruto and want to laugh then you should watch this. You shouldn't try to link it to the main story in ANY way or you might get head-aches, just try to forget the main series for the time you watch this. Especially if you're a Rock Lee fan then you definietly shouldn't as it makes him look like a complete idiot.
Right, now to the actual story. Rock Lee is the main character of the series along with Neji and Tenten. From time to time we will se characters like Naruto, Sakura, Guy and Kakashi. This series is fully packed of jokes, it will make you laugh for sure but I wouldn't say they're really that mature, mostly simple stuff. Many people are dissapointed by this, maybe because they set their expectetions too high, don't expect good action, only watch this if you want to laugh, like I said before. read more

Whilst Naruto SD is a parodied series from the main series of "Naruto", Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei contains parody elements within the series.
