Naruto SD: Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden

In a comic version, these spin off, including winks to the plot of the original series and lead us to our characters to situations that are not logical and not normally we would see. 

-Both are spin offs of popular anime -Both use a chibi art style -Both have many stupid jokes and references to the original show -Both tell a different-ish story than the original series 

both are chibi parodies of a well-known shonen show. both are also really funny and enjoyable, although i’d say that ninja pals is better-written in terms of comedy. for the cuteness factor, junior high definitely wins. (chibi armin was something i never thought i wanted to see until this show) if you’re a fan of naruto and aot, i really recommend that you watch this because it helps you take a break off all the angst and serious aspects in their original shows.  

Very similar absurdist childish comedy style. Both center around random antics and in particular those in relation to the characters peculiar lives, often exaggerating otherwise completely normal situations. Both are filled with characters who seem balls deep within the absurdity of their universe. Common sense does not appear to be anyone's forte in either series, other than the obligatory straight men (or straight women). Though the characters in Naruto SD are technically teenagers, their chibi appearances gives them a very child-like look. Shin-Chan is fully episodic, where as NSD has something of a continuity with characters and plots introduced which are referenced or continued later, but this is usually an exception rather than a rule. Being familiar with Naruto helps understand several jokes and plot points better, but it is not required to enjoy the series. read more
