While Cobra is more light hearted and takes place in a space opera setting, Golgo 13 is grittier and takes place in a then-contemporary urban setting.

Both are retro-styled mecha series based on manga by Mitsuteru Yokoyama directed by Yasuhiro Imagawa that center on many similar ideas, such as historical revisionism, the dangers of scientific progress, sons dealing with the sins of their fathers, melancholic optimism in front of tragedy, and if it's possible for a criminal to redeem himself from his crimes. Due to the unique approach Giant Robo was made with, many Tetsujin 28 characters feature on it, so if you want to see what's basically the closest we're getting to a Giant Robo sequel, Tetsujin 28 is for you.

Gurren Lagann no doubt took inspiration from GaoGaiGar's Guy-Mamoru dynamic to create the Kamina-Simon one, but gives it its own unique spin even with that familiarity.

Both are action series with a heavy bent on comedy featuring an impossibly strong human hero who takes down all kinds of demons without much effort. Obviously don't expect the level of visuals OPM has in Helck, but they're pretty similar in tone and theme.

Both are violent OVAs based on mecha anime from the 70s that re-imagine the original in a way that's completely divorced from their older versions' plots. Mazinkaiser SKL is honestly so much closer in tone to Getter Robo than it is to Mazinger Z that it's basically an unofficial Getter show.

Both are action series animated by Ufotable focused on samurais in Japan's past. While Kimetsu no Yaiba touches only the Taisho period, Touken Ranbu goes back and forth between the Heian, Edo and Bakumatsu periods.

Both are action series with a heavy comedy focus about an overpowered guy, who trained way too much to gain supreme physical strength, but has to hide this fact from the other warriors around him. One Punch Man obviously is about superheroes and has far better animation, while Mashle is about a magical school very heavily inspired by Harry Potter.

Both are Gainax mecha anime directed by Hideaki Anno with a melancholic tone and a darker take on the mental burdens of being a mecha pilot. You can actually trace a lot of influence on NGE to Gunbuster, but I feel EVA handled the idea better.

Both are coming of age stories filled with wacky characters in wackier situations with crazy Gainax animation, including episodes directed by Imaishi. While FLCL is a sci-fi mecha, Abenobashi leans more towards fantasy.

Both shows are about a high school boy resolving mysteries with lots of dialogue. They are episodic in nature, so they explore multiple stories instead of a single overaching plot.

Both Perfect Blue and Oshi no Ko touch on the toxicity of idol culture and the very harsh reality its performers face due to the industry standards. Even so, one of them is far better animated, written by a highly beloved author and received universal critical acclaim, while Oshi no Ko is written by Aka Akasaka and thus isn't as harsh on its critique

Both series have a magical school setting where the protagonists use the powers of dragons, while the MC has the peculiarity that he can use the power of more than one dragon. It has ecchi and multiple girls are interested in the MC and there even is a dragon girl loli in both series.

Adou is basically Akira if Akira was actually the protagonist. Both are kids with powerful abilities who escaped a research lab where other kids with said abilities are housed by a number and in their attempt to escape the ops looking for them are helped out by someone who rides a motorcycle. Other similarities would be that they're in a futuristic Tokyo, and Adou's art style is reminiscent of Otomo's work, most notably with the big foreheads.
