I was really nervous for Ginko for a little bit. But I had a laugh by the end with the mountain lord so cleverly pulling him in like that. I wonder if it is something that has happened in the past before to keep things going smoothly.

Ginko was in a tight spot there. For a minute there, I thought he was a goner! :(

Can't wait for the second part and the specials!

Perhaps the best Mushishi episode ever. The most beautiful and the most atmospheric. I will never get over how well Mushishi episodes are paced.

This show is unquestionably a masterpiece. Best of the season? Best of all time.

The calm of the ambient sounds and soothing contrast between the calm snowfall and the lush spring made for a very satisfying atmosphere for this last episode. It's interesting to see how the mushi can even influence the seasons. This was a rather fresh episode in the sense that Ginko's knowledge as a mushishi was being put to the test with a trial he was both unfamiliar with and had no control over. I got a good laugh out of the end when Ginko is like "did the mountain lord do this just to get my kouki?" Greedy poker faced turtle.

It's a shame this season had to come to a close so soon, although I look forward to the remaining episodes later as well as the next part in autumn. This was just as thought provoking and awe inspiring as the last season. I was completely immersed and captivated by each story and feel all 10 episodes provided more insight into both the Mushi-verse as well as our own world. Since this only built on the masterpiece of season 1, I have nothing more to say but 10/10.

For me, this was the weakest episode from this new mini-season. But altogether I liked the first part of Zoku Shou. 9/10 for me, and I can't wait for the new dosis of Mushishi this autumn.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode.

Throughout the series it was more of Ginko supporting the other characters through their troubles, which was great, but it was fantastic just having an episode dedicated to Ginko himself.

He thought his way through and in the end got played by the Mountain Lord, but it was very interesting to see how the Lord protects those whom are in its domain.

Overall very strong season.
Excited for the fall, can't wait to see more!

This episode was easily my favorite and even rivals some of the best episodes of season 1. To be honest, I felt this season had too many mushi that acted more like parasites, giving their host some kind of supernatural power but weakening them gradually than just having mushi as enigmatic forces of nature.
Nothing wrong with that per se, but in my opinion it always gave too much focus on the character of the week neglecting Ginko or the mushi themselves.
Here, on the other hand, we have Ginko monologuing for 20 minutes, trying to figure out the mystery of his current situation and it's amazing.

I was hesitating between a 9 and a 10, but after seeing this, I'm convinced it deserves the 10.
I'm looking forward to the next season!

damn that mountain lord was a badass. Of all the things, people, mushis, Ginko finally got bested by a turtle hehe...this episode was a great addition to mushi lore, it shows how there are so many points such as these mountains on the river's flow where mountain lords 'rule' (we've seen such places in the first season), basically make sure that these points do not die, and the ecology is in balance, along witht he komyaku at that point.

Anyways, perfect music, direction, animation, voice acting, the whole minimalist approach etc. I enjoyed how the whole episode was just focused on Ginko, and the only other character being the mountain lord turtle who didn't speak a word. Easily among my favorite mushishi episodes. In fact, almost every episode of this season is now among my favorite mushishi epsode. This season was just pure brilliance, couldn't have asked for more.

Best anime this season? Best anime this season.

A shame that we only got 10 episodes(though we do have two more episodes, and another season on the way), but we should be grateful that we got any Mushishi at all. It's like an anime out of a different era, especially now in 2014. There's nothing else like it.

Haha.. Ginko got trolled by the mountain lord =p

I can't describe just how beautiful this anime is. The art and sound alone warrant a perfect score. At first I just watched this for the heck of it since the first season was rated really highly. I didn't expect to like it this much.

10/10 for sure.

Now that is how you end a season of Mushishi. Showing us Ginko in a situation where he doesn't have the answers and is as helpless as the civilians he usually helps. It's a great reversal of fate and one that let me know Ginko is capable of being punked.

On that note, turtle-mushi-lord stole the episode. That's how you show them youngsters to know their place. XD

Zoku shou is just as great as its predecessor. Superb direction and animation coupled with an amazing OST...everything about Mushishi is simply brilliant.

Damn son. This is the first time that I've seen Ginko get owned so hard and by a turtle no less (although I will admit, that is one BOSS of a turtle). That mountain lord used and threw away Ginko like he was nothing. Haha. Anyway, can't wait for the OVA specials to be released with the BluRays and then the second cour in the fall. Bring it on.

Comparing with the catfish and gigantic snake mountain lord, this turtle look so harmless. In fact he is such an old wise geezer. Plotting everything from the beginning.

Whoa, such a murderous face that Mountain Lord gave at the first time.... but turns out to be a clever, tricky Mountain Lord XD

Generally, I'm amazed by every episode this season as always and already surpassed my expectation, a thing which I personally consider quite hard to achieve.
But I'm giving 8/10 for now, as there is only one episode that actually had a deep, emotional twist in the end.
Then again, I probably need a second rewatch, to grab some more of this season and I might change my score later :)

Fall, please come to papa soon x)

This episode gave me a "Mononoke Hime" vibe.
I also liked the choice for the Mountain Lord. Instead of a strong animal, like a wolf or a beatiful animal, like a deer, we see an old turtle. Turtles are animals with big lifespans, so the Mountain Lord can watch over and protect his area for lots of decades

Ginko got some poor treatment in this episode.

He was snubbed by the mountian lord, pushed into the swamp by a flock of mushi, and then while he was sleeping in the swamp, they drank all his liquor.

So glad there will be 2nd season! 10 episodes was just not enough.

Amazing ending! I am really happy that they made a dedicated Ginko episode the finale. Its like giving us some extra Ginko time before saying farewell. (Until fall, ofcourse).

I'm keeping my 10/10 rating. This has been the greatest anime I have seen that fits perfectly for bed time. So relaxing and makes it easy to sleep afterwards and reduce stress and stuff. :)

I usually watch lots of action oriented shounen where everything is about hype hype hype. So watching mushishi has been the perfect counter-balance.

As usual, Mushishi delivers. Nothing has changed from the first season to the second, in fact if you choose to read the manga you will see that the anime is essentially an exact copy of what the anime is (or vice versa if you chose to read the manga first).

Brilliant and Excellent as usual. 10/10 no doubt.

Really wow like episode! I really enjoyed the Mountain Lord being a bad ass looking turtle, and the overall atmosphere of this last episode was totally amazing! Really liked this second season a lot as the same atmosphere as it had from the first season returned in its full glory! I really am full of anticipation for the second season of this chapter! So let's hope to have another great season after this! 9/10

Ginko having a monologue for ten minutes and then talking to a turtle lol.
Veeeery slow paced episode. Really not much happened and it was 24 minutes long.
I'm quite disappointed with this season. The stories were dull and kind of unfinished. Always when I started to get sucked in the episode (around 17-20 minute in) it suddenly ended without a good conclusion after a while. At least the landscapes were beautiful as always and Ginko cool as always.
I hope the 2nd cour is better - 6/10.
