romance, boys love, high school + music, adult cast (lots of the side characters are actually grown ups), crazy cool guitar playing MMC.
even if you don't understand much about music, you are in for a treat with this one. handsdown a masterpiece and a true gem. one of the few romances (esp among BL), that aren't cringe, have overall good characters and feature a good story that's not just based on misscommunication. the english VA is amazing, too.
the only negative thing i can say about this is, if you watch this dubbed, there are no subtitles for lyrics and on screen text (which are quite a lot).
i don't even wanna spoiler you the tiniest thing a bout this gem. it's defo an all time fav of mine, if not my #1 fav romance anime. i wish i could forget it and watch it again for the first time.

Magic high school. The magic system is highly technical. Has romance, kinda, but it's a bit awkward. "Touch her and you die", morally grey MMC.

Nineteenth-century, France, fantasy, vampires and a tiny sprinkle of romance. The main character gives me Loki vibes.

Not for everyone. gore and MMC with questionable morals, although the moral part is kind of the theme for the whole show.
Not labelled as romance, but I read ahead in the manga and Im like 90% sure this will eventually turn into one with the "he hates everyone but her" trope. Unfortunately, the anime ends when it gets interesting. Unclear if there will be a second season.

Romance in a fantasy setting with an interesting concept of ones fate and how to overcome it. Unfortunately, I found most of the female characters a bit annoying and the romance is a bit boring, too.

It's romance, though it's not the interesting part of the show. Core themes are loyalty, self acceptance, corrupt politics and overcoming prejudice and differences.

This is not a harem! Even though it really looks like one at first.
If you suffer through the first 2-3 episodes, ignore the silly girls school uniforms which make absolutely 0 sense, and you might be surprised.
And probably also imagine that the students are at least 18 or so, even though they look like 12.

high school, a group of guy friends that is really into swimming, lots of topless hot guys (because they are swimming ofc), no romance, but if you really want to, you could read shounen-ai into it

fantasy, gods and spirits, not really a romance but has a romantic slow burn sub-plot. MMC has the classic "silly idiot", "dark background" and "softens up for random high school girl" trifecta.
while i found the anime really good, there are a lot of questions unresolved and it's unclear if there will be a 3rd season. still highly recommended

I slept long on this, but turned out to be one of my all-time favs. If you watched Detective Conan as a kid, you'll like this.

Two psychos getting attached to each other. Labelled as romance, but there is a lot less romance than the title suggests. I'd say it's enemies to romantic interest.
There should have maybe been a few more episodes for the characters to develop more chemistry, but I still had a good time watching this.
