That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It was serialized online between 2013 and 2016 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō. The series was acquired by Micro Magazine, who published the first volume in May 2014 under their GC Novels imprint. Yen Press licensed the novels for North American release and published the first volume in December 2017 Fuse originally began the series as a web novel hosted on Shōsetsuka ni Narō between February 2013 and January 2016. The series was acquired for print publication by Micro Magazine, who published the first light novel, with illustrations by Mitz Vah, under their GC Novels imprint in May 2014. Yen Press licensed the light novels for English release, with the first volume released on December 19, 2017. A campaign was held to commemorate the cumulative total of 20 million copies of the series in 2020.[2] The circulation for the series has exceeded 25 million copies in 2021. On November 30, 2021, the series was reported to have sold more than 27 million copies total for the entire series. On August, 2021, it was announced that three Spin-offs volume would be released at the same time at September 15, 2021A new spin-off light novel, titled Catastrophe in Jura Forest, was announced and released to the public on October 15, 2021. Two more volumes was also released on the same date on the two following months.
