I checked out episode 1 of Oshi no Ko (1.5 hours) and was very impressed. Immediately binged the manga. I agree with you. It's a bit underwhelming and the premise builds uip and then goes a different direction. I'd still give somewhere close to like a 7.2/10.

Man I want to reread Aku no Hana sometime soon it's been so long! And black lagoon definitely goes on my list.

Damn bro!! I love Molester man. It's not only about the fact that it's a well written, good romance / SOL, but also its a real life story. And it has some good messages too. Definitely a solid 8.5 ball-park range.

As for spring:
Jigokuraku - not bad. Feel like its way overhyped. Its like a 6-7 so far have no idea where its going. But it has flashy action and gore so people eat it up.
Tengoku Daimakyou - not bad either. Not sure where its going either.
Oshi no Ko - adaptation is good, but its gonna be like the manga so prolly a 7.
Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia - 1 episode so far. Has potential
Ousama Ranking: Yuuki no Takarabako - doesn't seem as promising as s1, but still looking forward to it
My Home Hero - oddly interesting
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen wo! - i loved this episode 1!! I like konosuba but I wasn't expecting much. Episode 1 blew me away. The writing has taken an incredible jump and I think this has potential. Gonna be filled with SoL (episode 2 was proof) but very excited. Not as funny but writing def up a notch

Yes I agree. The part of the manga that I thought was weak was the confusion between Johan's twin sister and like what actually happened and whose memories were whose. Was very convulted I think that is the only part I didn't like.

So Andor is actually extremely well written imo. I heard if ur a star wars fan and ur hoping for some star wars shit u might get disappointed since it doesn't have that much lore and stuff. Just go into it as a standalone story. I think it's extremely well written and has good themes/messages. I gave it a 10/10

Dude actually I discovered it by looking at your page lmaoo ... I actually really liked it. Gave it a solid 8, not sure how high or w/e, but def very solid. Def a teacher's fetish no cap lol, but I enjoyed the actual philosophy / psychology as you said.

I think from my recent manga I read this one: Ran to Haiiro no Sekai. It was surprisingly good. Has some wierd elements but if you get past them it's worth it imo. Very good coming of age sotry.

As the season is coming to an end, I'm excited for the new one. New demon slayer, kono suba, and oshi no ko (never read the manga but heard good things). And omg Ousama ranking season 2! Season 1 was very fun so looking forward to this. There's also some highly rated mangas getting adapted: Mashle, Jigokuraku, My Home Hero. Never read any of them but excited to see them

I also see that you finished Aku no Hana. Thoughts? Also black lagoon and "Shinai naru Boku e Satsui wo Komete" ... never saw either of these, thoughts? I heard good things about black lagoon

IMO this arc will cook. Probably best arc in vinland for me.

Frieren is quite an interesting manga. It has slice of life parts that are actually very fun and well written but the action parts are the boring parts lol. But yeah it really does feel like you've gotten enough. Reading it monthly is pretty cool tho since it's like a small dose instead of binging it which could be hard after the halfway point

Yes! Monster was very fun. Long time ago I watched 15-16 episodes of the anime and then stopped for w/e reason, but the manga is so much better paced. It was very interesting themes and philosophies, but imo the ending felt a bit odd. It did not culminate properly ... like it didn't match the build up. I'm not looking for a climax, but I was expecting something else. The plot twist was interesting but it felt slightly convoluted for my taste, but I've seen much worse. At least it was done well. Although I will say the ending was both unexpected but very consistent with the message for Tenma to let Johan go, because he understood that Johan is not a monster (which was the excuse he was giving himself to try and kill him) and seeing the author depict a true doctor, one who only saves life with pure empathy. Tenma is "good" personified. I ended up giving it an 8.9/10 IIRC, very well done but just missed something to edge it over.

BTW, watch Andor! It's a star wars related series but I watched it not knowing anything about star wars and it was crazy good

Iruma is definitely a fun read. It's just eventually becomes ok, esp when reading weekly. I actually just ended up dropping it lol.

Bro, after watching episode 2 of vinland I just binged the manga lmao. It was actually so good.
I still haven't been able to, but I want to check Trigun as well.

Grand Blue was actually not bad. Like maybe a high 6/ low 7. Had some good moments and humor is on and enough. Definitely overrated compared to MAL score (9/10) but regardless def a fun read.
Professional2341 Dec 27, 2022 3:56 PM
That makes sense honestly. I always viewed them that way until I tried it on my own.

Ehh ... sometimes it's a 7, sometimes a 6. Enjoyable read for sure but I would not have high hopes for Iruma kun manga.

Yeah ... I didn't find season 1 that funny but ngl season 2 and the movie def a lot funnier, but I will say I do think it's overrated but still not bad. Haha true! I'm excited for s2 vinland. Have you read the manga?
Wait Trigun reboot is this season? I've never watched it but I'd be so doooown

Dude ... don't get me started on isekais. Why are they still going strong?
You too as well man!

Rn ... I dropped black clover, I'm gonna check out Grand Blue, the anie. I've heard good things.
Professional2341 Dec 16, 2022 4:34 PM
IMO chainsaw man is like a solid 7/ low 8 in the first part. The second part is so bad I had to drop it. Blue lock starts good and really pulls you in but then slowly gets more and more repetitive and kinda dull and I just dropped it. But JoJo? That manga is top! Can't wait for part 9.

It's called nonogram or picross? Ah I just searched it up looks kinda cool actually. MIght check it out. Ayyy! Yeah I love PS! but the meta sometimes is eh so I take long breaks. Lol in what way is hearthstone just like league? Like in the lore stuff? It's def not as addicting (for me) and not having that huge toxicity in the community is a boot. But I mean I play Hearthstone for like, 2 months out of the year lol.

Takagi-san!! Man S3 was actually really good. That's actually a really good description of Iruma-kun. I really liked it when I started and even many of the manga arcs. But now that I have been updated for a while I do see it's kind of childish a bit and many places are unpolished. Def still enjoyable to read tho. Haha that sounds cool! I'm not too much into music outside of the occassional classical or like those slow/peaceful anime OSTs.

Rn ... I just rewatched Konosuba s1, planning to watch s2. I heard good things but I'm still skeptical. After that I'm unsure tbh. Def semi-excited for the new season. Vinland Saga & Nagatoro s2 will be hype
Professional2341 Dec 9, 2022 7:17 AM
Bro everytime I think I responded to you but I didn't xD

I think I might read BC, will see what I do.
For now, I'm just barely keeping up with the seasonal anime. But I did binge Blue Lock AND Chainsaw man mangas only to end up dropping them lol. And then Jojo Part 6 finally finished. It was awesome.

And yeah that makes sense. Good luck on your stuff.
My favorite all-time thing to do is stargazing. I went like 5 times in the past 6 months. Very beautiful and inspiring, and very fun - especially with friends. Other than that, rn Im into Chess. And also from to time I get back into something random like Smash Bros, competitive Pokemon (PokemonShowdown, if you know what that is), or hearthstone. But other than it's just a bunch of studying.
I do like learning in my free time though, but I haven't had much time recently. Like I had a phase where I was learning economics, and a phase where I was learning Psychology. And long time ago (and also occassionally) I learned and read loads of Philosophy. My current book is "Into to Logic" which is a good review of the basics of logic so I can expand more into the field of Logic. Unfortunately haven't found enough time to complete it yet. But I'm almost done with my other book "Man's Search for Meaning," which was a phenomenal read.

Agreed. Seeing a manga end is a very weird feeling, especially if you have been reading it weekly. Kaguya was something special.
Watchu been up to recently? Anime/manga or hobbies

Code Geass is one of those anime to have 2 different variations of loathsome characters; with ones being that you hated them but still respect their development and the others you feel like shouldn’t exist (I’m looking at you you table fucker). Kallen’s cool but in context of the show’s writing quality, she’s mostly there to serve as a source of motivation for Lelouch like a lot of the cast.

At first, I thought that I didn’t care for Kino’s Journey when I first read it but as I go on, it grew on me a lot. Not only is the visual storytelling beautiful but also the world building is exceptionally well-constructed and Kino herself is well-constructed as both a character and a protagonist. One of the best representations of stoicism. I heard that the 2017 adaptation was a letdown because of pacing but I also heard that some would say that it’s a little more faithful to the LN than the 2003 counterpart so I’ll keep an eye on it *ahem obviously just for curiosity.
EatYourFrutz_ Nov 25, 2022 2:46 AM
Yup. While it’s more bombastic in the second round than the first, it can look borderline stupid at points when it comes to how it was written. Overall, a show with an amazing premise but with a cast of characters I almost never cared for (except Lelouch and Suzaku… maybe Orange Boy also).

I got into Kino’s LN first before the anime. While I’m taking a break from reading it, it was such a blast. The anime is also amazing but it’s source material has a slight edge over. I’ll continue reading it again when I have the time to.
EatYourFrutz_ Nov 25, 2022 2:34 AM
Thank you! Code Geass was one of those shows I used to have at a 10/10 but as I re-watch and think more, I had to lower their scores. The plot twists are too much.

I like your Kino pfp also!
Professional2341 Nov 17, 2022 9:53 PM
Dude ... Barakamon is amazing. The anime is already incredible and the manga is even better. Def a 10/10 for me and now my #3 fav.

Howl's is amazing agreed, especailly the music. I have all 3 of these movies on my list. Nausicaa is GIBLI? I didn't even know that. You think I should read it instead of watching the movie?

Very interesting. That's what I've been getting for Black Clover a lot. I have some friends really pressuring me to watch it xD. I might just read it instead. Prolly takes a couple of hours to reach 100 chapters.

Yeah makes sense. Personally I'm extremely busy as well. I only watch seasonal animes and even that is sometimes not feasable. What have been you focusing on? Anyhing interesting?
Kryptoleaf Nov 11, 2022 10:58 PM
lmao based aot scores
Professional2341 Sep 23, 2022 11:48 AM
Yeah even Your Name was overyhype, but I still think it's good. The other movie was like a 4/5.

Yes Bleach ended long time ago, a bit after Naruto. I remember because I used to read Naruto/One Piece/Fairy Tail weekly at a manga website that only had shounen. So Naruto/Fairy Tail/Bleach all ended around the same time. Just like Naruto, the impression I got is that most people didn't like the last arc in bleach or how it ended. Tbh, after every chapter of FT/Naruto (and I think Bleach is well) the comments were just all hating. I loved it lmaoo. However, I'm still excited. Bleach is hype af.

I haven't watched many anime films. But def A Silent Voice is #1. I think my #2 would be Only Yesterday. It was actually insanely good imo. Even before the ending I would give it an 8 but the ending made it 9.5 or something. Howl's moving castle is my 3rd. And then maybe spirited away and your name? Like I said haven't watched that many. Need to watch more ghibli movies lol.

Also, I binged Jojo Part 6 and 7. Man they were insane. EXTREMELY GOOD.
I've also been recommended Black Clover a lot. I might start it. Any opinions on it?

ALSO! Watch Tatami blues, the 2nd season of Yojouhan! Two episodes already out!
Kryptoleaf Sep 2, 2022 1:34 AM
so, mate. i finally completed the entirety of gintama with watching the final movie today. And my chest hurts, this truly is something that i was treasuring while it was going on, but now it has come to an end which truly haunted me from day 1 as im not good at bidding farewell and as now this show has come to an end, i...i...feel empty af inside. im getting all sentimental now cuz of this lmfao. truly loved it while it lasted. Sayonara, my soul!
Professional2341 Aug 30, 2022 7:55 PM
I've never checked the manga tbh, but I feel like the anime gave me the perfect dosage. Although if another season comes out I would def be excited.

Oh I actaully didn't even know Shinkai is directing a movie. Though, I'm unsure. Tenki no Ko was very meh. I've heard good things about eminence of shadow. Mob psycho 3, bleach, fumetsu 2, and even spyfamily 2. Like actually just insane.

Dude! Have you watched the Ghibli movie "Only Yesterday"? Me and my friends watched it yesterday in the theaters for the first time, it was SOOO GOOD. Like very shocked how good it is. I think it's your type too. My 2nd fav ghibili after howl's moving castle.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
