This show shouldn't be taken seriously. I saw many that gave this series a 1 out of pure hatred. In my case however, I found amusement from this show. While this show did a horrible job with its story and characters that cannot be fixed with Flex Tape, I had fun because of its poor quality.
It was amusing to see how bad some of the actions scenes were and how pathetic some of the "heart warming" scenes were. I was also pleased that they actually wrapped up the story.
I give this series a 4 based on my enjoyment of the
...
show. Please continue to read to see a more detailed review.
Story:
The story was bland. It's about a guy who got sucked into a magical past where people are given titles based on names from Norse mythology. The story shows our main character, Suoo Yuuto winning wars using his smartphone to look up war tactics to beat his foes. The other half of the show is him being fawned by his "sisters" and "daughters" who have sworn allegiance to him and love him unconditionally.
However, this anime did get a proper ending unlike other Isekai anime that just leaves you behind and Yuuto did pick a girl.
Art:
Don't expect anything too much. Colors and character designs are flat. It is obvious that the studio didn't really give any care to this series. Animation is minimal and usually depends on still pictures for battle scenes. But even these still pictures are horribly drawn and laughable.
Sound:
I can't remember any of the OST that played in the show. There are some cases where the volume of the music is raised and lowered based on the tension of the show. By the way, there is no tension.
Character:
To be frank, the characters are just a bunch of tropes. Nothing that makes them too unique.
Yuuto is the perfect selfless guy that has no defense against women. His "sisters" and "daughters" love him because he is smart and kind. The reason he rehects them is because he likes his childhood friend, which to be fair is something we haven't seen in a long time.
Defining each "sister" or "daughter" is pointless. Every single of one of them wants his dick. They each represent a trope: the erotic sister, the cool beauty, the imouto, the tomboy, and the three lolis. Most of them have little to no purpose in the story and are just there to state how great our main protagonist is.

"Youkoso Jisteuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e" has many great points and many poor points.
Cons:
The pacing is unstable. It fluctuates when it reaches the climax and crawls when it's building up the arc. During this pacing, the story slowly and almost massages the ridiculous scenario and 'boring' stereotypes into your mind. Many people hate the unrealistic setting questioning the origins of the funding or idiocy of setting. They point out how unrealistic the currency works and how the plot bends for its own convenience. The biggest point is the underdeveloped the characters and the typical wish-fulfillment main character that gets all the girls. For
...
me, the biggest problem is how loose the opening cynical quote actually relates to the story.
Pros:
The art in this anime is beautiful. The opening itself is visually appealing and sounds upbeat and cheery. While the setting is very generic and ridiculous, I feel it goes well with the stereotypical characters. Many other reviews believe that the characters and poorly developed. I say this is a design choice. This show is trying to present a huge mind game between four major factions and how they try to one-up each other and no one knows who the other person is thinking. This is the key point: You don't know what they're thinking, they don't know what the others are thinking about. They are people trying to figure out how to manipulate the game and become the victor. With stereotypical characters, we are somewhat satisfied with "underdeveloped characters" as we can somewhat have an idea what some characters will do. My favorite is Ayanokouji, the main character that we know nothing about. He distances from others and never tells others about himself. He never has any soliloquies that reveal his own goals. Therefore, the viewers are connected to none and are forced to look through the lenses of the side characters. This is the point that this show is trying to sell.
This show is not for everyone. If you hate stereotypes or love shows that make you think, then this is not for you. My advice when watching this show, go in without thinking anything. Do not question how things in the show work. Instead, focus on trying to decipher the main character. He might bore you, but that's his appeal. Hope you aren't too bothered by the wish-fulfillment.

Story:
Basically a family of five people got shipwrecked and crashed onto a stranded island. They have to survive and wait for someone to find them. It's pretty interesting and you can learn a few survival tips from this anime! (I learned how to cut a tree down lol)
Art;
The art style is old (so the characters have weird faces) so depending on your taste I cannot say that this is good or bad. It's not so HD though... The trees look awesome. Much of the background is painted which really helps the atmosphere of a dangerous and dense jungle. The nature is everywhere....
...
YAY!
Sound:
Not bad. you can hear a lot nature stuff. They all sound legit. Wolves sound like dog growls and water sounds like water. Not really helpful. I know. :(
Characters:
The characters have a very rich background (They are a rich family). They seem like normal people that you find in everyday life. (Except for Flone, because she has a dynamic personality) There are no real supporting characters since the story focuses mainly on the family. Each member of the family are distinct and are well written as they try to cope with the reality of being stranded on the island.
Enojoyment:
This anime wasn't great, but it had a solid and satisfying ending. Yes it is your classic happy-ever-after ending. This anime is not recommended for those who like action packed fighting anime. Also not recommended for romance anime lovers. Slice of life lovers, this is something that might peak your interest. I'm going to broadly say that it's a "coming of age" story, whatever that really means as the children are forced to grow up.
*Note: I watched this anime a long time ago. I also have the DVD version of this so I can't say how good the quality the videos are on the internet. Thanks for reading a not so helpful review.... kind of?

Here are some Q&A to help you get a grasp at what the anime is like. (SPOILER ALERT....kind of.)
What kind of ending does Arcana Famiglia have?
A: A round about way to end. No progression in relationship with other characters what so ever.
How is the action/violence in the anime?
A: Yeah..... lame sword fighting..... thats it...... (Unless you want to include the powers which they don't use what so ever.)
Who is the antagonist?
A: What antagonist?
...
Ok, here's the actual review:
Story:
It starts of near a city next to the ocean where a "clan" lives. They all have superpowers that hold great power. The head of the family wants his daughter to marry someone in the clan. The winner of a fighting contest will be able to marry daughter of the head. The result was.......pathetic. The majority of this anime was just background info on every main and supporting characters.
Art:
Average art in my opinion. It's not bad but not so spectacular.
Sound:
Music was fine. Able to dramatize the situation the characters were caught in. Again nothing really that spectacular.
Characters:
This was suppose to be amazing. They had awesome superpowers from a deck of god cards. They were suppose to use these cards agains evil!!! These characters COULD have brought this anime to the top, but did they? NO! All they did was random and pointless stuff. Their bonds might have deepen between themselves, but definitely not with the viewers of this anime. Because of their lack of "motivation and moving forward and stuff" I gave them a 4 instead of the 9 which they could have gotten to make this anime 400x better.
Enjoyment:
If you could;t tell already I had to push myself to finish this anime. It was lame. End of story.

Story:
The story is blatantly boring in the beginning. At first it is slow. It constantly gives you side stories, but somewhere along the middle, the story takes a much more rapid pace and starts packing more action into every episode. The finale for this show is really a spectacle and a fitting end to the series. While I would ask for more from this series, Tezuka Osamu is no longer with us and I do not believe there could be a better ending to this show.
EDIT 2019: I found this portion I wrote years ago lacking so I'm here to add more
...
to it.
The show starts off episodically featuring the many separate incidents involving Sharaku. After 20 episodes or so the show begins to add backstory to Sharaku's mysterious background as well as reveal a darker side to the story. As I had mentioned before, the ending is quite fitting. Like Tezuka Osamu's Pheonix, it presents a potential questions and problems we may come across in a distant future.
Art:
Like many of Tezuka Osamu's creations, it has a unique art style compared to other animes. It leans towards a Disney art style compared to your standard anime art style. The background art is fine. Nothing stands out much, which is good or else it wouldn't be called a background. The ancient statues and temples are based on actual ruins.
Sound:
The OST is unique. I mean you don't here "sha-la-la" and "rune-rune-rune" in any other anime OSTs.
Unlike the unique opening, the music can be rather peaceful and sometimes ominous.
Characters:
The main character Sharaku. Is first shown to be super childish and mentally slow. His character design really shows off his dopiness and his stupidity. His other personalty is the exact opposite of him. He is shown to be super clever and a genius. Just imagine hot pink next to dark purple.
Wato is a decent foil to Sharaku. She constantly protects slow Sharaku, but is always toyed by genius Sharaku.
Enjoyment:
This show is truly underrated. It's current mediocre score here on this site does not reflect just how endearing this show can be. Yes the animation is somewhat crude and it might look look slightly weird at first, but I really did enjoy the show the more I invested my time into it. Again, the finale is epic and feels for the monkey girl.

Story:
I feel like I'm being very generous since it has the classic "Beat every mini-boss guy you see" set up. The ending was weird and it doesn't really explain anything. Triton the main character is accompanied by a weird dolphin with a check mark shaped tattoo and is trying to defeat this bad guy who supposedly killed his clan.
Every "mini-boss" has his (or her) own aquatic animal they use to beat Triton. They usually stump him for twenty seconds and then Triton comes up with the "most genius" solutions ever. The series repeats this about all the way to the end. Even the final
...
boss didn't even seem that difficult to beat up.
Art:
Considering it being a old anime the art looks faded. The water looks like it's a solid object. The underwater scenes are decent. The "mini-bosses" have a cheesy design. They would always use the super buff bad guy or the witch-like bad woman.
Sound:
The OST sounds old. If you actually know what the guy is singing about it stupid. If you didn't its actually pretty decent. It's the kind of thing where you think it's suppose to be stupid, but it's actually cool. the quality of the sound itself is smooth (In the DVD version at least), but some of the voices of the characters can get really annoying sometimes.
Enjoyment:
In general, most people in this generation won't even look at this anime. They got cooler stuff like Sword Art Online. It kept me hooked since it gave me an nostalgic feeling. I believe it's hard for other people to enjoy and I really don't recommend this kind of anime if your into stuff like SAO. This action level is pretty much lower compared to Power Rangers.
I have the actual DVD in Japanese. So if any of the sound or art summary are worse than what I say it's probably, because the people recorded it with poor quality.
