Ah, Boruto, the serial that I've been defending since the pandemic. Eida's omnipotence has caused Boruto to lose all his friends and family, forcing him to battle the Otsutsuki God Trees while Konoha ninjas pursue him.
After 15 chapters full of the rollercoaster journey of Boruto, here are things that I consider good and bad:
(+) New Techniques
I'm intrigued to see the new techniques (jutsu) being adapted into anime, especially Rasengan Uzuhiko, Himawari's Nine-Tailed form, Shinki's recent Magnet jutsu, etc. Their adaptation of RasenGun previously was slightly disappointing, so I'm hoping they're doing these new techniques justice.
(+) Boruto vs. Everybody
Boruto getting under attack from not only Code
...
and the God Trees but also the shinobi is a badass idea. Of course this idea will not be happening if Boruto becomes a seasonal anime, but Boruto fighting against his anime/side story manga friends like Iwabee, Houki, etc., would look totally insane.
Please buckle up.
(-) I prefer the anime's assets
No, I'm not talking about the anime originals or filler stories in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime. If anyone says the anime sucked, so be it. I just wanted to express how much I love the assets the anime has created: Chunin Sarada; Team 5, Team 15, and of course my boi Houki and Team 25; and Nue. Not to mention characters originated from Naruto, such as Udon, Hanabi, and Mirai.
Now let's just focus on Hanabi herself. She's the biological sister of Hinata. Hanabi would have been easily outraged by Boruto's 'killing' of Hinata and Naruto. If Hanabi doesn't appear in the anime (since she doesn't in the manga), it will, in my opinion, leave a gap in the plot.
Therefore, it would be a shame if these anime assets are all scrapped as a result of the 100% adaptation of the Boruto manga.
(-) Mikio Ikemoto's paneling skill
I believe many Boruto readers have already voiced their concerns about this issue since Naruto Next Generations, and I only became aware of it two months ago. I gotta admit that Ikemoto-sensei's paneling is rather weak. Many panels repeat themselves to showcase different dialogues or possibly close-ups. Reading a 40-page chapter feels like reading just 25 pages. I'm curious about the current gap between Kishimoto-sensei's storyboard and Ikemoto's drawing. Like see, I'm still defending Ikemoto-sensei if he's accused of being a p-word, but I don't think his paneling skills can be defended at all this time. I definitely respect him for being the sole manga artist, but come on.
In conclusion, the sequel to Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is a worthwhile read. Yes, I might give it a score of 9, and I'm sure I won't drop below a 7, given how much I've enjoyed the story thus far. However, I chose "Mixed Feelings" due to my concerns about its potential anime adaptation in the future. I hope Pierrot remains committed to this project and secures skilled storyboard artists and directors.

We'll go straight to the points (without mentioning its animations because I already anticipated it):
What's good?
+ Jiron (he's carrying the entire series really hard)
+ Tensura wannabe (?)
+ Generic isekai story, but still interesting
What's bad?
- bad CGI
- brightness
...
- colour composition & details, especially some of their outline that hurt my eyes
- lots of boring scenes that made me sped up to 1.25x
As a crappy Isekai anime watcher, I'm still intrigued for a 2nd season if existing since they haven't dug up enough Ike's story before death and Romberg. However, this needs a slight studio upgrade.
Overall, this anime is recommended only for anime fans with low standards.

Action-adventure anime featuring a man over 30 appears to be one of the most popular genres in the anime scene at the moment, and I have watched four already in the last 12 months. If "Former NBA player Brian Scalabrine is closer to LeBron James than the street ballers are to him," then "Ossan Newbie Adventurer" is closer to the quality of "Kaiju No. 8" than the mediocrity of "I 'Parry' Everything" and "A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life."
Here are some of the pros and cons of this anime.
(+) Music & OP
When Muse Asia began teasing the anime's trailer, the soundtrack by Tomotaka
...
Oosumi piqued my interest, particularly the fighting music. Meanwhile, the OP track evokes a mixed response. Well, I'm certainly on that 'love' side. Well done to Akira Kushida for creating a memorable song for this hidden gem.
(+) Character Design:
Without a doubt, the design of most of these characters makes them incredibly memorable, despite their similarities to other popular anime characters. Rick Gladiator, Reanette, and Kelvin Urwolf would be my Top 3 picks at the moment.
(+) Episode 10-12:
Yes, I understand they are also basically copy-paste of one of your Big 3 Shounen Anime (read: Naruto during the 1v1 at the Chunin Exam), but who cares? The animations exceeded my expectations, and it was evident that Yumeta Company put a lot of effort into the final three episodes.
(+) Funnier than most of the actual comedy anime this season:
As said above, the jokes worked rather well for me, unlike some of the supposed comedy anime this season.
(-) One-hit kill:
Unfortunately, I wasn't a huge fan of those 'one-hit kills', though I understand Orichalcum Fist is literally an S-tier party. I believe the studio could've at least revamped the fighting scenes.
Overall, "Ossan Newbie Adventurer" is a fun and intriguing action-adventure anime to watch in your free time.

A story about an elementary school girl who is good at drawing great manga panels with interesting story, but feels jealousy after getting the "xxx's drawing makes hers nothing" comments. It's totally related to what I've felt nowadays both in my personal life and my spare time as an EDM chart maker on YouTube.
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
I REPEAT, SPOILER ALERT
(+)
- Plot: It is rather simple, clearly not difficult for me to understand the plot. Its comedy, drama, friendship, and character development were executed pretty well. The ending was rather ambiguous and gave me a fear of a possible jumpscare.
- Visuals: I am no visual expert, but
...
for a small studio that only did their first work as the major animation production, Studio DURIAN's visuals are rather unique and eyecatching. They certainly created a trademark on their color palettes and how they animated the 3D scenes. After watching the movie, I immidiately checked their work on Eve's MV, which I'm not really familiar with. And yep, this is indeed Studio DURIAN.
- What-If: The concept of what-ifs or hypotheticals are always interesting. I was introduced to that term when I first played Dynasty Warriors 8. They provided us "what-if" stories of Three Kingdoms, Sima Jin, and Lu Bu. Hence, when an 'alternate ending' of the movie got displayed, I'm half happy when we were supposed to feel sympathic to our lead character.
- Music: As always, no necessary flaws appeared in all animovie music I have listened to. It's soft, chill, melancholic, perfectly fit for the movie.
(-)
- Screenshots: Some watchers might already aware of this, but for a movie that I gave 10/10, I don't really like too many screenshots that could spend the movie itself around 5-7 minutes. Another perfect example of my 10-rated anime was Attack On Titan Season 1 (I forgot which episode) where the Scout Regiment prepared to lure the titans to a narrow building. But yeah, it's nothing major nevertheless.
Well done to all crews who have worked for this anime movie. I'm begging to any of our local TV station, please buy this movie and broadcast it! Set top box TV era isn't dead yet, y'know!

Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange series is somehow decent in its own way. This anime is quite informative about firefighter's tools, emergency, do's and don't's, etc. Clearly, I learned something from MnD: How to rescue victims without the main door; saving someone from ruins; and violating the law for the sake of a victim. Some decisions made by Toake and Onoda were as insane as the know-it-all Daigo Asahina.
OP and ED are bangers. Unfortunately, the OP can not be found anywhere on any global streaming platforms.
Those who also hate fan services: You are welcomed. Try watching this instead, as I discovered that some of
...
Enen no Shouboutai (Fire Force) female characters followed the fan-service cultures.
However, there were a lot of problems going around the first 12 episodes:
1. Too many long recaps. One episode literally only lasted 15-17 minutes;
2. The pacing is slow;
3. The actions felt plain. Not sure if it's Brain's Base that we should blame on, or the manga itself which I personally didn't read;
4. The drama were also lacking. Onoda x Nakamura moments can only be found a little bit. The rescue missions weren't as intense as what I personally expected.
Personally, never expecting myself to give the very first review on a firefighter anime. Enen no Shouboutai did exist, but is yet to be watched. Will surely be watching it in the future as a comparison to Megumi no Daigo.
In the end, I will definitely continue watching Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange. Never was myself dropping an anime just because it was bad. This anime might be good for those who are looking for new insight about firefighter, but definitely not for those who are looking for an intense action, fan service, and romance.
