Ahh I see. That's true for a lot of people Shonen is like their gateway to anime. That was the case for me too, and right now is a great time to even get into anime because its so big worldwide now and it's becoming more and more acceptable. Because it's bigger now there are a lot of communities which talk about anime and show appreciation.
That's a really good shounen anime to start, I finished it a few months ago and man what a great story. A lot of people love Yusuke as a main character as well. That was Dbz Kai for me. I first watched it and it opened my eyes to a whole different kind of animation and I got hooked on it. Bleach!! I remember back in the day there was always discussion of the big 3 and Bleach was always slept on. The anime was nice to me but it felt a bit slow at times, I read the Manga and preferred that straight away.
Mhm Yusuke is great, I love that sarcasm and confidence he always carried, no matter the situation he always had something funny to say xD. Especially if you watched it in English Dub. Oh that's understandable but OH WOW YOU RELATE WITH THE FIGHTING TOO LOL, didn't expect that at all.
Alright well when I first heard of Yu Yu Hakusho I wasn't too big on it because it felt very old to me, like I could see 90's written all over it. It was only after I watched a bunch of Shounen anime and anime in general that I felt like watching it, because I was running out of things to watch and wanted to explore more. I gave it a try and the very first episode got me ngl. I didn't expect it to be so emotional in just episode 1 and tbh with you it's one of the best anime introductions I have watched IMO. So yeah since then I slowly became more and more invested in the story. Many enjoyable moments, many clever moments and all round a very nice story.
There are a lot of anime that I don't think will entice me but when I try it I get hooked straight away and that's one of the things I have learned about anime. No matter what you think unless you give the anime an honest try you will never know if it will surprise you or not and Yu Yu Hakusho was another one of those examples.
I am glad to see you are enjoying shounen anime, and I hope you only continue to fall in love with it more :D.
What anime do you plan on watching next or you're currently watching that you enjoy rn?
Hey it's my pleasure man!
You seem like a Shounen fan with very nice taste.
And I myself am a pretty big fan of a lot of your favourites.
What did you think of Yu Yu Hakusho?
