3x3 Cartoon Series Mosaic.
3x3 Cartoon Films Mosaic.
Scheme:
10 - Transcendent. Very few experiences in life can offer this level of complete immersion. Pinnacle of human creativity.
9 - Incredible. Absolutely amazing but not in a special place for it to be a masterpiece. Usually this is the highest score I give.
8 - Outstanding. Marvelously crafted piece with little slip-ups or inconsistencies thus lacks that special touch.
7 - Great. Very enjoyable overall and thoroughly engaging, however, some notable flaws.
Strongly recommend.
6 - Good. Enjoyable but overall lack of grappling substance or contains large pitfalls that pulls one out of immersion.
5 - Okay. Often fails to hold my interest so maybe some fast-forwarding. Lacks overall unity but not an ordeal.
4 - Unenjoyable. Simply uninteresting to me or brimming with eye-rolling flaws. Time could be better spent.
Not necessarily bad.
3 - Deplorable. Appalling or poorly-realized work. Leaves a repugnant taste in the mouth.
Actually bad.
2 - Abhorrent. Ire-inducing muck. Could eat a bowl of Japanese Hiragana alphabet soup and poop something better.
1 - AnimAIDS. Eden of the East movie sequels + School Days.
N/A - OVA/Specials: Refer to the series' rating. Shorts: Not enough of an impression.
My Ratings:
- I believe a large part of a work's beauty comes from the taste it leaves in the viewer's mouth after the viewing; thus, the conclusion of any narrative is paramount to its worth, easily 50% of the animoo's final rating.
- I tend to strongly focus on character realization, execution/script, and the show's unity/coherence - The show must have a coherent projection and purpose. (Subsidiary focus on visuals, sound, and story; though these elements drastically help the execution.)
- 10 or 9 does not mean flawless. If the narrative is coherent, the characters are palpable, the purpose is well-realized, and the artistic imagination is present, any objective blemish is simply a detail that becomes less important the more I am immersed in the piece.
- I do not give a lot of high grades, though anything 7 and above I have enjoyed to great extents.
- Anything 3 and below is actively offensive - An antonym of "entertainment."
- Lastly, I'm a character-driven viewer: Series rated higher than normal? Probably because I really like seeing the characters.
At the end of the day, I've merely chucked all traces of animoo artistry and passion into this reductive hierarchy that cheapens the very notion of media consumption. That being said, if you've got any questions regarding any of the ratings and want some subjective thoughts, message me and I would be more than glad to justify my shit taste.
