Well shit. You actually watched it. Torrenting it now, I can't let the meme die, we deserve this suffering for what we did.

Yeah I like a bit of everything too, gives me the most variety. By the way I noticed you haven't seen Alien 9, I think you should check it out as there's themes of growing up and plenty of drama and weirdness.
Okayu72 Sep 14, 2017 10:34 AM
Ah yeah sorry I should have mentioned that. I was interested in your tastes as it seems like most I run into have the same favorites. (To be fair a lot of mine are common too but I do try to put my actual favorites instead of most artsy or obscure lol)

Life after daily Grande Scène releases.

I miss it already.

Hiya!! Spiranix told me about the ballet manga you are scanlating atm. I just started it and I love it oh so much already <3 I'm such a massive ballet fan, and have done a lot of it over the years, so this is a dream to read! Especially how technically accurate it is, wow :O

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks and keep up the amazing work!! <3
Spira Jul 24, 2017 4:13 PM
ahhh thank you for your work on Kenrantaru!! having a really fun time with it and getting absorbed in the terminology and atmosphere haha, was always looking for a sports drama about ballet so finding one like this is just so rad!!

I really enjoyed the first chapter! Looking forward to seeing more. Next, release when??? Haha :3

You're actually a hero for scanlating that on your own. <3

!!

This is both great and a complete surprise, hahaha! Thank you so much, it was eating me as I couldn't recall who was gathering those or if they ever got posted and I somehow missed them now. I tried to search stuff but the sub search is kinda useless with comments and then google failed me, too, since I couldn't recall how the whole effort was called or what I wrote.

I'm surprised you've kept those! The FTF one that is. I remember Spira's Josei one and the other demographics one. They were both great!

Hahah, I like how we always bump into each other when these characters are involved!

You were right. The budget really evaporated with this one. The 19th episode of KareKano is kind of hilarious. These lengthy recaps too. LOL
Serendipity Jun 5, 2017 9:41 AM
Sorry, I fell asleep last night while watching anime in bed and then got caught up with work this morning.

Yeah, just got myself into that as you saw a bit ago in FTF. It's all I've been doing of my free time for the past few weeks actually haha.
Out of curiosity, what title are you even scanlating? Are you doing this as an individual project or have you joined a scans team?

I'd even argue that translating novels is easier than scanlating a manga alone would be for a seasoned translator, but I'm not comfortable enough with the language for it.
Oh maybe. One of my scans friends is a second generation Japanese lady and she suggested it'd be harder. I wonder if it's the case anyways, as sometimes I feel like learning Japanese to read. I'd have the kanji part down, at least, because I can read and am studying Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).

summary
Yeah, I enjoyed reading it and I thought your summary definitely conveyed more than enough in terms of the story. It was easy to follow along to for sure. :)
Serendipity Jun 4, 2017 10:13 PM
Oh, welp. No worries. I thought about spoiler tagging it and editing it, but I got lazy as I'm on a phone in bed. =P

God bless anybody that decides to translate a novel. Scanlating manga is chore enough.

Did it live up to the adaptation in term of story?
Sorry, I lost track of what we were referring to. Was this about Erin?

That's why Natural is in my favourites actually. I never really enjoyed Animation that much and, to this day, I still think of it as a thirteen episode introduction to the characters and the city of Neo-Venezia. There's not much development... or much of anything really. It all comes together so nicely in Natural. Origination, while not my favourite (or the most sentimental one to me), is by far the best season of Aria. Natural handles a lot more like episodic stories with morals and themes, while Origination is probably the most story-oriented season. I love the way they conclude the relationships of all the girls.

Oh okay. It's actually one of the two shows I bother to rewatch every several months (the other being Chihaya).

Alicia and Akari have a lovely relationship. My favourite part of it might be in the Arietta OVA. Until that episode, Alicia always seems to be this otherworldly 'Snow White', but she shows her own weaknesses and struggles that she went through as a new Prima to Akari. As somebody that's always worked with children (coaching and summer camps), I've always felt like they've had an almost parent-child relationship with Alicia always subtly guiding (and not forcing or criticizing) Akari's choices. Her revealing her own feelings and insecurities is kind of like when you grow up and become and adult, you kind of realize that your parents aren't these superheroes that can do anything and everything. I found that episode kind of grounding and really pretty in that way.

I've always just ordered my favourites alphabetically. My favouritess are basically characters I empathize and relate to in terms of personality. Oh that's a shame about that manga. I'll keep an eye out for it to read, if you recommend it. :3

I'll definitely read that later, I think all the motivation I have towards reading any novel is saved for Spice and Wolf haha. It seems to be the struggle of watching anime adaptation of novels (I'm looking at you Saiunkoku, Twelve Kingdoms, and Spice and Wolf).

Hi. Haha my pleasure. Nice to meet you. :)

It's probably the same for me actually, I don't know many people who have seen Erin period, though most people I speak to regularly on here have seen Chihaya. In fact, I only watched Erin recently. I think a month or two ago I finally decided to watch it as one of my good friends (who also wrote the second Erin review on its anime page) had been suggesting it to me for a while. Episode 7 of Erin is one of the only episodes of anime that I've kept saved to my HD after watching it, along with all the seasons and specials of Aria.

Really? I thought many people have Origination ranked above Natural and Animation, in that order. My favourite is actually Natural. I wrote a really long review on it on my MAL somewhere, but generally I find Natural to make up the majority of my favourite part of Aria. Natural introduces Aria's cast and their respective personalities and relationships really gently. It's almost like we get to know them progressively, as if we were friends with them--sort of a slice of their life literally. Anyways, Aria is my favourite anime franchise by far. I'm glad to see someone else that enjoys it and it is always interesting discussing it, as everyone that love Aria seems to have different reasons to and seem to have different favourite moments. My favourites are episodes 5, 6, and 9 of Natural (the one with the cherry blossom tree, the one where Alice doesn't want to go to a party, and the one where Akari lights up Aria Company with candles).

I don't think I saw your username on forums actually, as I don't use forums at all. I only really comment on profiles (or I did, I don't have as much time to anymore).

I surfed through so many pages on pixiv with a premium account, I can't believe I missed that one. Also oh my god the 2nd one is fantastic, saved.
