Finally replying here. Sorry it's taken me so long! I haven't been watching a lot of anime, so I've neglected this site. I noticed you added me on Mubi, though, so I thought I'd say hello before adding you back. Looks like you've seen plenty of films, though, and you have pretty good tastes...! Glad you liked some of the music. :)
Sorry it has taken a while to reply. April and May have been very busy for me but I have a long, empty summer ahead that I have to think about what I want to do. The weather sadly is not like Brazil. I think I may watch some anime =) La Roux is awesome. I love her musical persona and her retro-vintage style of pop music. It was one of the best female performances, I agree, and she does have this exotic cuteness to her as well =P
I saw Four Minutes. It was nice. I felt like the lesbian Nazi with the Communist girlfriend bit was just thrown in for nothing. I honestly don't get why it was included. Although, now that I say that, it would have been a pretty cool spin-off...
I never notice or care about grammatical mistakes, and I didn't see any so...
It was a nice concept. I'm always a sucker for closet-case stories, but what was interesting was that she had a lover before that. Although, I find it hard to believe the her in the past was the same as the her in the present. They seemed like two different people with two different lives; it didn't mesh together properly. But it was one of the best lesbian films I ever saw.
Oh yes, I did! It was quite spectacular, though I didn't like two things about it:
1. She cheated and it seemed to be acceptable.
2. The main character did not behave like a mother at all. I don't know if this was deliberate or whatever, to prove that this was something that she wasn't cut out for, but then in the end, she was fighting for the child. Trust me. When a woman has a child, she does not leave it sleeping on a couch unattended to have sex, especially when she's so preoccupied with fulfilling the roles of mother and wife, and when she's been holding back from giving into desire for so long.
I saw The Chinese Botanist's Daughters. It was beautifully designed. Story and characters a bit shaky, but it was very, very pretty.
I can't say I'm enjoying anything this season, honestly.
I will. I really hope the version I'm getting has Eng subs. There's nowhere streaming it that I have access to, so torrenting it is my only option. But my torrents aren't running well, so I decided to directly download it. Hopefully it works.
I can't really say who the best Pokemon is... it's too hard.
Nomi's just very particular. ;) She'll warm up to you, but talking about movies isn't the best way of getting her to open up. If it's anime, though, you're golden.
I can't really say that "folk" is my strongest point, especially since that can mean anything from really traditional pieces of music from everywhere in the world, to this more common modern understanding of "folk" as being along the lines of singer-songwriter guitar-based music — kind of like "indie." But if you want to try some of the stuff I mentioned, listen to How I Loved You by the Angels of Light, and White Light from the Mouth of Infinity by Swans. They're both projects of Michael Gira's, and Swans began as a more brutal industrial/no-wave project, but it evolved into a more "folky" American gothic and post-rock style. I would also recommend the double album Swans are Dead. Though if you end up wanting some gentler recommendations, I have some...

And I wasn't so sad for Charizard, but for Pigeot and a few others. Misty gave up the Togepi as well.

Jigglypuff is cute. I miss it. It's not in any of the new episodes of Pokemon.
