Well, then I'd go with Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo, Hachimitsu to Clover or Given. The third one is BL, so I'm not sure if it passes.
Anyway, this is the first time I've recommended something, so forgive my choice in case you don't like these shows.
P. S. I've just completed Fruits Basket. It's amazing!
I've looked through some recommendations, thought about that myself and I'd finally like to recommend Violet Evergarden.
It is not too bad. I personally liked it a lot but I don't know what kind of slice of life is your type.
