Graduate MA philosophy student who still believes that anime is a superb medium for discourse on problems in philosophy. Contemplative science fiction lover and a Star Trek nerd.
Thanks for taking your time to respond, even if late - that's a good quality to have - not sure if it was your intention but this surprise will certainly remain in my brain for a long time. Thanks for the well-written respond too, I assure you I will reply to you in due time (I promise it won't take as long as you did :P) in order to have clean & organized ideas.
Thank you for the third time for responding, your writing is really some of the best I have stumbled upon (and I am not saying this as a vague compliment, I genuinely found something "meditative?" about reading what you wrote) and I will surely give it more thought to the series than what I had done before.
Now I do not know if you are of those who believe in the power of words, so I'll just leave it in a simple good luck with your thesis :)
Hi, I saw your comment on Cogito Ergo Sum, and I would like to hear your opinion on Houseki no Kuni, especially about the mind-body-gender that you mentioned.
For me, one interesting thing about HnK (Apart from the plot and story, that is), are the characters. In my opinion, HnK shows an example of the ship of Theseus, especially thanks to the fact that the gems lose memories along with body parts. Not spoiling the manga, Phos has, by the time I'm writing this, changed a lot, both in personality and appearance. Even leaving the manga aside, by the end of the anime Phos is still different than what he was at the start.

Any thoughts?
haven't you watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood yet?
I think it has some really serious philosophy ideas
