Three words, Harem Battleship Fleet.
That is all I have to say about this anime.
Review done (But not really...)
Spoiler alerts
Story: 6
In a world where sea travel and communication does no't exist because of a strange fleet called "The Fog", we follow a captain, Gunzou, and his crew which includes teenagers and a loli submarine. This loli submarine turns out to be Iona, a member of "The Fog" who was given orders to obey Gunzou. The combination of a great submarine and a great captain, the crew overcomes their obstacles, make new allies, as well as new enemies.
The
...
pacing was fine, a few spots, especially prior to an action scene, were fast paced. They always seemed to want to head straight into the action, but this is where they excelled, which I will explain more about in the art section.
The biggest problem I had with this story was the fact that nothing was carried through all the way. What seemed to almost start a political war was quickly ignored by action. What was about to be an answer to questions that we may never get an answer too (possibly if there is a season two?).
Art: 8
CG art is starting to pick up in anime, and it has it's ups and downs. Outside of action scenes, the CG art looked great! I had no problem with the way the series looked, but then things started getting animated, and it the movement looked so forced. Things such as hair, hands, arms, legs, all moved awkwardly.
Action scenes on the other hand were amazing, the CG art promoted the sci-fi feel of the anime as well as the animation looking more smooth and not as awkward. The final fight blew me away, the art was amazing to look at and the way it was animated... eyegasm.
Character designs were great, enjoyed the designs of all the characters. The only complaint on character designs were to make I-400 and I-402 a more unique. Their designs were already based on Iona, since they are sisters, but they only added few unique things and the colors they chose for both of them, a pale green and a pale purple, weren't too distinguishing.
Sound: 6
The OP, Savior of Song, is a rock techno mix that works well with the anime, since it is an action sci-fi series. For some reason though, this OP wasn't my cup of tea and didn't really stick in my head like most OPs do. The anime had four EDs, one being the OP, and the other three being Blue Field, Innocent Blue and Our Story. The EDs weren't that bad, I didn't mind listening to them, but not that amazing either. An average OP and average EDs.
The background music was few and between, and I wished they had used it more, as it would have helped set the moods at times. The times they had background music, it was used really well, if they had more, i'm sure they would have done a great job with that as well.
Character: 7
Outside of the Fog characters and the main character, all the other characters didn't have enough depth to make the memorable. Who was the one Japanese politician? Who was the engineer of the ship? Names easily forgotten on characters that seemed more important than just a side character. The Fog characters were amazing, and I wish I could see more of them. More Haruna, more Hyuga, just MORE FOG PLEASE.
Character development was nice, since it was a primary theme of this anime. Seeing the captain, Iona and the other Fog ships develop was nice to see.
Enjoyment: 10+
Even though the subcategories scored low, this anime was very enjoyable to watch. The action scenes were great, and the characters that were the main character and Fog were very enjoyable. Seeing awesome female characters is a plus as well.
Overall: 9
The enjoyment I got from this anime was so high, that this anime is my favorite of the fall season. Hope there will be more.

A short anime about a realistic group of people and their interactions with each other.
Story: 6
The story follows two groups of siblings, the Saitou siblings and the Shinmoto siblings. The older sisters are best friends and so are the younger brothers, but everyone is in good relationship with each other. Their isn't much of a story since each episode is approximitely four minutes long, but the short stories are very enjoyable and actually quite entertaining to watch.
Art: 9
This is the thing that stands out the most with this series, the art style. It is quite unique and uses very bright colors as
...
the main color palate and heavy focus on circles to give details and depth on certain things such as hair. I found the art to be interesting and it works quite well with what the anime was aiming; a short, cute feeling that puts the viewer in a happy mood. Character designs were great, all the characters outfit looked awesome as well.
Sound: 8
The only thing I can rate sound wise is the ED, Watashi ni Naritai Watashi, which is super duper cute. Again, just like the art, this ED helps with the whole cute, short feeling of this anime.
Character: 9
The characters felt very real, characters that have personalities that can exist in real life. Both the Saitou siblings are quite but passionate about certain things and the Shinmoto siblings are loud and competitive, both very realistic personalities. With realistic personalities, the characters are very easy to relate to.
Enjoyment: 8
The series is short and simple, but done very well. The goal of the whole series is to make a cute impression with silly stories and humorous moments that are realistic. They did this very well with the sound, art and the characters. My only complaint is that I wish there would be more romance, but so far this review has been spoiler free and I would like to keep it spoiler free. More romance would be nice though...
Overall: 8
This is a very cute show that is easy going and can replace any emotion with a smile. This will probably be my to go anime when I finished a sad series or feeling down, since this series is very light hearted.

There are decisions in this world that people shouldn't have to make. Some of these more unique decisions are brought to light in this unique anime.
Story: 6
NouCome (Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru) follows Amakasu, a boy with a rather strange curse... He is forced make a random decision based off two - four choices, all of them being typically bad things. The goal of Amakasu is to get rid of his curse, and hope to separate himself from the "Failure Five".
The pacing of this anime was fast, as it felt like the story
...
that was suppose to take over a 2 cour was stuffed into a measly ten episodes. Too much information was stuffed into each episode and a lot of questions unanswered.
Art: 7
The art was good, with great character designs and backgrounds looked great. Scenery wasn't there, and animation was alright, not much to complain about since this anime is focused mainly on comedy and a comedy doesn't need the best art to get the humor through.
Sound: 7
Taiyou to Tsuki no Cross, the OP of NouCome, is a very jumpy song that can put a smile on anybody, which is the goal of the series. The ED, S・M・L☆, begins with a small build up and leads to a heavy guitar rift. This ED feels out of place for this anime, but KyoAni does it all the time and I quite enjoy that studio.
Background music was fine, it is hard to mess up background music. Carried and helped deliver the mood for the scenes.
Character: 6
I disliked most of the characters, the only two likeable ones were Yukihira's shy half and the lazy god. The show started off showing multiple characters with little depth and as the show went on, I was expecting character growth as Amakusa tried getting rid of his curse. There was no character development, they didn't even give back stories to most of these characters. Yes in a comedy, character development isn't really needed, but the way this anime started, it seemed that there was going to be a lot of development.
Enjoyment: 5
I laughed every now and then, but I found the echiness to be too distracting from the humor. I am not a big fan of forced echi, and I wasn't really expecting almost every character to have d cups. The fanservice is a bit much for me.
Overall: 6
I really hope there is a second season, as I actually believe that this terrible beginning may have a shining sequel. That or wished this was 2 cour, so they didn't have to stuff everything into ten episodes.

This whole anime can be summed up by the lyrics of one of the songs that comes from Outbreak Company. "DA. DA DA DA DIN DIN DA DA DA"
Story: 7
This anime is a clash of modern day Japan with a fantasy land that has knights, dragons, a loli ruler, elves, dwarfs and dragons. Just imagine a brighter version of LOTR. We follow Shinchi as he has to spread otaku culture (Anime and Manga) throughout the lands of Eldant. That is pretty much the show....
The pacing of Outbreak Company was fine up until the final two episodes, which the pacing felt too
...
fast as they tried cramming in a lot of seriousness that the other ten episodes lacked. The ten episodes lacking seriousness wasn't a bad thing, the show was doing a great job with those episodes, but the last two rushed into drama and seriousness.
Art: 9
Art was great! Something I found enjoyable were all the references to other shows through background art such as a parody poster of Hataraku Maou-sama.
Scenery was amazing as well they made medieval times look happy and splendid. Castle, fields, mountains, the whole thing was pretty to look at.
Character designs weren't outstanding, but unique enough to separate characters and make them memorable.
Sound: 10
In my opinion, Univer Page, the OP of Outbreak Company is my favorite song to come out of this fall season of anime. It is so cheery and the way the song starts, eargasm. Watashi no Houseibako, the ED of Outbreak Company is a very soothing song and very good to listen to while running. Both songs give off the vibe that the whole anime is trying to do, make the person watching this very happy.
The background music does a great job at carrying the mood, with a very unique song that is used during comical parts, I already quoted the lyrics of it in the beginning of this review.
Character: 8
Characters are given enough depth to make the memorable, and distinguishable. This is good since my first impression after looking at the OP was that characters would be easy to mix up. Character development was great, everyone had development outside of being interested in manga or anime.
The only problem I had was the random characters added halfway through, the dwarf and the elf. These two were added to the story and I was assuming for them to have a pretty big role for upcoming events, but nothing really happened involving them.
Enjoyment: 8
This anime was enjoyable because of the otaku humor. I found humor based around references and other things anime and manga hilarious. Multiple scenes I have laughed, and the soundtrack makes it even funnier. I also really enjoyed the one part of seriousness they did in the last episode, the only time this series did the serious business right, which makes the last two episodes worth it.
Overall: 8
Great anime for the fall season with an amazing soundtrack. I will be listening to Univer Page for a long time to come, especially when I need a pick me up.

Most guys will never understand the mind of a girl, and this manga is a great example of that.
Story: 9
This story follows Suwu, as he pretends to be a priest as a girl confesses her dark secrets to him. Because of these dark secrets (And they are pretty dark), he is enamored by her and an instinct to protect her kicks in for Suwu. The problem is, the girl does not know Suwu knows, and other girls at his school become jealous of the attention that Suwu pays to the girl.
This plot is started by a lie, a common story telling device, and
...
a very predictable one as well. I can honestly say the story felt very standard, it followed what seemed like a preset of a love triangle (Square) and a story based off a lie. This doesn't mean the story was entertaining, just fairly predictable.
The pacing was fast, maybe it was because I was bored at night and couldn't sleep and plowed through this manga quickly. This fast pace wasn't anything bad though, it made it work with the story.
Art: 7
The art was pretty good, but not outstanding. I really enjoyed the design for all four main characters, albeit the female protagonist looked a bit cut and dry (Her dark secrets make up for that).
There is only one problem I had with the art, it was the first (and only) action scene, it wasn't poorly drawn, but I had to go over it multiple times to understand what happened.
Character: 8
I loved the main female protagonist, she was innocent mentally but non-innocent physically. She was a great character with a lot depth. Her emotions were controlled well, and I can imagine in my head that this is how a girl will act if gone through the terrible experience she has.
The male protagonist was not my cup of tea, he was so obsessive over the girl. The only problem to me, is that I don't if this is a good or bad thing! THIS MAKES ME SO MAD. I understand that he wants to protect her, so it is ok to obsess over her, but it is so creepy as well. I don't know. I may be the only one who is thinking this too.
Enjoyment: 9
I honestly wasn't expecting the dark secret, I saw a review of it (only yesterday) and quickly read the synopsis without giving it much thought. By the fourth page, i was completely in shock, like seriously wtf. I kept reading it and it kept getting more interesting even though it was predictable. As with other mangas, i have even expressed vocally how shocked or happy I was with some parts.
Overall: 8
This was a quick, but great read. Very enjoyable and I wish there would be more.

The yuri is strong in this one.
Story: 10
Holy crap this story was entertaining and interesting. The story follows Mari, an unpopular girl, and Akko, a pretty popular girl, and begins with Akko helping Mari become more cuter. Throughout the story, the relationship between the girls change and this is when it becomes a yuri manga. I absolutely enjoyed how they went post-confession with this story. Another thing I found absolutely wonderful were the activities the characters on the manga did. They went on group dates, drinking and such, a realistic version of high school.
The pacing was great, it didn't go
...
too fast or slow, the story went with the first third focusing on Mari, the second third focusing on Akko and then the final third focusing on both of them as a couple (Not really equal thirds, Mari's section was the biggest and then Akko and then the last part, but it is easier to explain it that way). This led to interesting transitions that helped the flow of the story.
This story also hit a bit of home for me as well, but I will explain this when I discuss enjoyment.
Art: 10
Milk Morinaga is a talented artist and did an amazing job with the designs of the characters of this manga. All the characters were well drawn and the chibis looked extremely cute.
Character: 9
Really enjoyed the characters, as they are unique enough to be memorable, but not too unique in where the author was going overboard. The only character I had a problem with was Haruda, as his entrance into the anime felt forced along with his exit from the story.
Enjoyment: 10
I enjoyed the hell out of this anime. Any time the main characters kissed, I cheered! It's not because I am a guy who enjoys two girls kissing (who am I kidding, that is partly the reason) but because seeing their relationship grow was just making me happy and seeing the two main characters conquer milestones was quite cheerful!
A big reason why I enjoyed this anime, was that i have gone through a similar experience. This is has spoilers of the story and is about my personal life, you can skip it if you want.
I was really shy and not very confident in middle school, but a girl helped me come out of my shell. This girl did exactly what Akko did for me, showed me how to be more confident and more outgoing. Eventually, I started having feelings for this girl, but I wasn't sure if it was because she was one of my first friends or if I truly liked her. Reading this manga brought me back to those days of self-doubt and emotions Mari had were emotions I also went through when I was going through that.
Overall: 10
Another 10? True, I rate my manga's high, but all the mangas I have been reading have been really good! Girl Friends is my first yuri manga, and won't be my last.

My first manga review, and it would be about the manga that I was so embarrassed to read when I was younger.
Spoiler Alert.
Story: 9
Love Hina follows Keitaro, a ronin (A person who failed their entrance exam, and spending time studying to attend the next year). He has been kicked out by his parent and was offered a home by his grandmother at her inn. In turn though, the inn has became a female residence dorm and Keitaro being a very unlucky (Yet immortal) character. The other main character is Narusegawa, a female who is quick to punch our main character for any
...
type of perverted thing he does. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship grow alongside the relationship of Keitaro and the other girls who live there.
The ending was handled well, as all the characters recognize they like Keitaro, but let Narusegawa have it. A great art of the series was all the girls competing for him, as we got to see sides of characters we never have seen.
The best part of the story comes in the epilogue, which I will cover why in the character section of this review, but the epilogue offered amazing closure to the series and put the biggest smile on my face.
The story of Love Hina was paced a bit slow for my liking but tolerable. This slow pacing was caused by this pattern of different character arcs for the girls living in the dorm, and then an arc focusing mainly on the two main characters. After the main arc finishes, character arcs are then done again, and after those are done, we head back to the main story with Keitaro and Narusegawa.
Art: 8
The rating of 8 is a bit high, partly due to my lack of completed mangas. (I don't really have much to compare it too...) but the art was still enjoyable.
The only real problem with the art were some of the action scenes, as it was a bit hard to tell what was exactly going on. Maybe it is because I don't watch a lot of action anime and read a lot of manga in general, but a lot of the action parts had to be re-read in order for me to make sense.
Character: 10
I loved every single character in this manga. Every character had a unique personality, so it was easy to separate them from each other. Every character also had a great character design, as the artist put so much work in every outfit, such as festivals, or tropical island outfits.
The best part for the characters though (besides most of them being girls) was the character development that all of them had. Every character (Besides Su, but Su does whatever she wants) had around three or four character arcs, which gave them enough time to develop. This is where we can see the result of character development; we get to see the dreams of all the characters fulfilled with an amazing happy ending.
Enjoyment: 10+
This was a series I got to part way as a 13 year old. I was so embarrassed to read this because of all the naked girls in the series (I was so scared that I would get caught). I only got to volume 2 before I stopped risking it. This was a great read from my past, as something that has always been on my mind since I stopped reading it when I was younger. The enjoyment I got from this series was so unreal, I laughed, I even yelled at parts that surprised me.
Overall: 10
I love this series, and I will re-read this sooner or later. Why couldn't the anime adaption be good (From what I know, the anime doesn't even get far with the manga).

Dear lord I finished this quickly. Only feels like yesterday I did my SYD review... 25 episodes in 2 days isn't too bad for a college student with finals coming up.
Spoiler alerts?
Story: 9
The story of humanity against a threat that can possibly lead to the extinction of humans. The story follows Eren Jager and a bunch of other people as they experience battles with the Titans, monsters who have it out for humans. Through these battles, we see the death of many soldiers, the psychological effects of a war when tides are against them or when the plan fails, and massive
...
character development.
The story was paced so well, nothing was rushed, and as with an action anime, it wasn't slow either. So no complaints on pacing.
Art: 7
Quite a let-down for me, since everyone hyped the art to be amazing. ONLY 1 SCREENSHOT FOR MY COMPUTER BACKGROUND... Maybe I wasn't paying attention to scenery enough like I do with other animes... but the scenery art wasn't out of this world, good, just not outstanding.
The biggest reason I don't watch action animes, is that when action scenes happen, the art style suffers or the animation is subpar. SnK did an amazing job with their action scenes, as we were able to tell what was exactly happening with the characters involved and I saw to decrease in art. The "Three Dimensional Movement" looked really well animated, I was quite surprised at how great it looked after seeing decent scenery art.
Gore. Wasn't really expecting this much gore. I know this anime was going to be violent, but I thought it would be violent in a non-gorey way (That makes sense to me). A lot of the times, I feel like a Titan should have caused certain bodies (Mainly Petra's) to disappear based off the Titan trying to crush the soldier. Just a thing I wanted to bring up... Not really related to my review though.
Sound: 9
Before I watched this, I have heard the first OP everywhere. It is quite catchy, although I would have gone with a different direction art-wise with the OP. The second OP wasn't as good, but still a nice addition to my iTunes, with a great art-style for it.
Both EDs were amazing, the first being a great piano song, the second being a great rock tune. No complaints there.
Background music didn't really stick to me, felt very normal to the scene, and something I will not be going out of my way to look up to relisten to.
Insert Songs were amazing, great choice of music for the select few songs that got in. These I will be looking up in the near future to listen to.
Character: 8
At first, I hated all the male characters. HATED THEM. Jean wasn't the nicest, Armin was a baby, Connie was sorta just there, and I felt that Eren was a bit annoying (Yes, I understand you want to exterminate them all... calm down a bit) I typically don't like male characters anyways, since the animes I watch are focused on females. The thing that was great was: the introduction of Pixis, Levi and Erwin, characters with great intelligence when it comes to war, and the development of the characters I mentioned earlier. Rather not go into detail, as I am trying to keep this a spoiler free as possible.
Female characters are the bomb. Sasha is handsdown my favorite character of this series, as she was a great comic relief character. Something I never expected from this anime was the humor she brought. Annie being one of the most interesting characters in this anime, and Krista being the most cute character in this anime.
Mikasa... Sometimes I want to say her character developed, but other times, she is still trying to do what she did from the very beginning, protecting Eren.
Enjoyment: 9
Very enjoyable, the hype did not lie about this anime. I was under the hipster impression that this anime was mainstream and gonna suck... but I still wanted to give it a chance and I am glad I did. I don't enjoy action animes, especially ones with a lack of romance, but this anime did a great job showing me that I can enjoy it.
Overall: 9
This made me push aside all my studying for my finals to watch this series, but I am so glad that I did.

This anime reminds me a lot of middle school, as it had very little drama but a ton of dirty mindedness to it. Heads up, possible spoilers
Story: 6
The anime is about our main character, Tsuda, attending a former all girls school, and then being forced upon the student council with three very interes..., actually two very interesting characters and one with a height complex. The story, much like other comedic animes such as Nichijou and Lucky Star, has a bunch of short events in each episode. SYD didn't transition all these events as well as the other two animes I said and
...
this caused the anime to have weird pacing.
Art: 9
Saved a couple of screen shots of scenery as my wall paper, the art was great! I believe this is one of the best shounens art-wise, as all the chibi parts were done very well. If other shounens were drawn/animated like this anime, I may watch more shounen... or not complain about them as much.
Sound: 7.99
One of my favorite OPs ever, Yamato Nadeshiko Education is extremely catchy. The ED, Aoi Haru, was a bit of a turn off for a few episodes, but, like what most music does to me, became extremely catchy and I just wanted to hear it all the time. So in shorter terms, both OP and ED are on my iTunes with roughly 60 plays each. Yes, I liked them. The background music wasn't anything special, didn't really look into it as much as other animes. The voice acting was on point, with two of my favorite seiyuus, Hikasa Yoko and Satou Satomi.
+1 for those two
-.01 for those two talking dirty like they aren't anything, mostly Satou Satomi, I MEAN SHE PLAYED SUCH INNOCENT CHARACTERS, WHAT HAPPENED. But than again I liked it... I was gonna give it a -1 but then I was like, Seiyuus are not real life version of their anime character and it actually was funny to hear them talk and blah blah blah... -.01
Character: 9
Ok, no one cares about the main character, because he is simple and boring and is only there because he is a male.
The other three... actually, every female in the anime are great characters, as they all are much like middle school boys (Possibly girls? I don't know how middle school girls acted) with a sense of innocence, but a sense of trying to figure out the world, in dirty ways. Little character development, just better relationships between the three girls and Tsuda.
Enjoyment: 8
Dirty slap stick humor? How can I not laugh at that?! I probably would have enjoyed this anime more if I weren't watching it before going to bed and being tired, as I actually didn't laugh as much as I was expecting. It was great though, just not as funny as I thought it would be. A lot more just "what did she say" and "uhm... glad my parents don't speak Japanese".
Overall: 8
Funny anime, with a different type of humor, this anime is a must watch in my opinion, but because of the different style of humor, not because it is the best.
With the next season coming around the corner, I am excited to watch it. I would like to see more romance though! I mean they set it up and it's confirmed and asdfghjkl. More romance please.

This review will be hard to write, as I will probably laugh at certain parts.
Story: 8
So... Nichijou isn't much of a story, rather a collection of short stories, a bunch of them. These short stories are divided based on the characters. In the beginning we have mainly separate stories all happening around the same time, but are not interconnected. I found this a bit boring, just a collection of stories with characters who had no idea the other characters of the anime existed. Towards the end though, the stories become interconnect as the characters meet each other. These episodes were more interesting,
...
seeing the stories all fitting together.
The only parts I didn't really enjoy were the Helvetica Standard, the humor was to weird or didn't have enough context for it to be funny (At least to me)
Art: 10
The art of Nichijou at first glance is very simplistic, but as you watch more episodes, you will notice the different art styles used in Nichijou. Nichijou covers a multitude of genres, with the art matching whatever genre the short story is about. The art and animation for scenes such as Mio losing it or Mai and Yuuko playing coin soccer are some of the best art.
Sound: 8
Both OPs are very catchy and addicting to listen to. The first ED was really good as well, but I found the other 6 EDs used during the second half of the series not as enjoyable. The background music was nice, with a few added to my music playlist. The background music help set the mood for each short story.
Character: 9
Characters were all enjoyable, with very unique roles. My favorite being Nano, as she is a very mature character with a bunch of moe. Maturity and moe? What. The only problem was character development, there is none, but it doesn't matter much in an anime like this. Misato taking Tsundere to another level as well.
Enjoyment: 10
Boy I wish I could rate this higher, I enjoyed this anime so much. There so many parts in where I: questioned what happen, laughed hysterically, and stared blankly as I was speechless. These all kept my attention and was very enjoyable.
Overall: 10
One of the best if not the best comedies I have seen, in where I will definitely rewatch.
