i wish i had impressive stats. i dont watch as much anime as the average anime fan but i watch more anime compared to the average person lol
but quick rant: if i hate an anime, its almost certainly because i was led on by a promising plot but was left extremely disappointed. other than that, if i put on something and notice that it's bad, i immediately change my expectations of it and start viewing it in jest. i laugh at what i dont like. i dont think harboring extreme amounts of negative sentiment over a cartoon is that psychologically healthy lol.
i dont like insufferable contrarians who hate everything thats popular and constantly insult people - for example, a hater of all studio ghibli films or a hater of dbz who belittles others. i think there are honestly people out there hardwired to hate whats most popular, so they unconsciously raise expectations or tweak their biases in the moment. idk dude but if u vehemently argue with people on the internet over anime, u should probably re-evaluate what ur doing with ur life. anime is still a niche after all no matter how popular dbz and naruto get, so theres no point being a hateful, contrarian, armchair critic. if u dont like something, just cordially express the reasons why it's not ur cup of tea and don't insult the intelligence of people who do like it. it goes both ways. some fanbases are extremely defensive over what they consider the holy grail of entertainment. just don't insult others who disagree with u.
