I like OG Aerith more than the new one, but I'm a stubborn old man. My favorite scene in FF7R is when Aerith is taking Marlene out of 7th Heaven though. Besides that, I really couldn't get into new Aerith that much. Really, the only pairing that I truly pull for that will never happen is the Rude x Tifa one. I just love it so much. XD

I've still got a bunch going on at work and I haven't felt like watching a continuous story. I've been fine getting by just watching stuff on YT that I don't have to commit to for long. We'll see, we'll see. I think we are going to make a dent in the work this week... I hope. It's kind of draining my mind. That and I've been writing a story on AI Dungeon all month. I think I may have broken the AI, it's gone on so long!

I think I found all the shorts for Amagami SS+ on YT but the quality was a little eh. Why they aren't on the Blu-Ray baffles me.

I was just fascinated with Kurosawa. I think she was using her one-sided feud with Ayatsuji as a front to try (badly) to get closer to Junichi. Her friends were so confused at the end, lol. She obviously had no chance but that's why I want to see a route where she talked to him before Junichi tripped all the Ayatsuji flags. I only have theories, but I think she was a secret admirer that never acted. We'll never know!

Another quick note on that show: even though Kaoru is my favorite, Ayatsuji's epilogue is the best one, I think.

They are definitely some good VN/dating sims out there... and some that aren't so good, lol. I think I sent you a list a while ago of some that I like.

Mafuyu Four Panels? I'd be down for that! But like you said, I would rather have a sequel series to her route. I'm thinking of asking the person who made this fan comic to draw another one based on my epilogue fanart. I love that their kids are called Narifuyus among people on that side of the community! :D

I'll be checking out Higehiro at the end of the season. Not surprising to hear that comment sections around it are dumpster fires, lol. I know I said last week that I was in an anime mood again, but I still haven't watched anything! Soon, I say, soon. XD

I don't usually watch gory movies, but I decided to watch the new Mortal Kombat Movie. Have to admit, I looked away a couple of times. Here is my 2 cent review: "dumb as hell, but I can't say I wasn't entertained."

I think Amagami holds an extra special place in my heart because it was one the series I watched that got me back into anime back in 2013, along with Rosario + Vampire and a host of others. It has endured for me though - like I said, I've watched all of S1 five times and all of S2 three times. I also tracked down all the shorts as well; I really like Kaoru's from S2.

Maya Takahashi is a Mafuyu predecessor in that she has had no luck with men and can't handle alcohol, but she is different in a lot of ways as well. For me, at least, she comes off as controlled chaos. It would be interesting to see a route with her after a time skip.

Kurosawa (a name that apparently means "dark law" which is hilarious to me since her deal in the story was trying to get her way through political connections) is just a character I like. I think a route in which she is trying to make her own way apart from her family could be really interesting. And, I want to know why she likes Junichi! Hopefully a better reason than, "you drank my milk, please let me have your babies." XD
(I kid... sort of. Risa is okay but her tactics are just awful.)

Mentioning that about Keiko and Umehara paring up kind of reminds me of KimiKiss: Pure Rouge, another visual novel adaption. In the game, there was only one protagonist but the anime created two more so several different routes could be explored at the same time. It was an interesting idea.

Nier is a franchise I still haven't gotten into at all. My brother played the first one on PS3 and Automata on PC. Automata is one he says I should play, but I just haven't done it yet.

My top five best girls/waifus list probably won't be changing for a while, unless a character that really speaks to me shows up and knocks the others down a peg. I've got Kawakami (Persona 5), Kaoru, Ilyana (Fire Emblem: PoR & RD), and Lucca (Chrono Trigger) pretty locked in. What I really like about the show is that everyone has their favorites, but all of the girls are good; none of them are unlikeable. I agree - Rihoko got the short end of the stick if you go by season 1 alone. I treat her route as a six episode arc and watch her episodes in SS+ before I go back and watch the rest of S1. I was pretty salty the first time I watched her initial route, lol.

Do you see what I mean when I said I wished that a new series would come around to promote some of the sub-heroines into main ones? My top five picks would be:

Maya Takahashi after he graduates.
Keiko (Kaoru's friend) - setup could be that instead of relying on Kaoru to help her with the letter, she turns to Junichi instead and it develops from there.
Noriko Kurosawa - she is a character that shows up in S2 so I won't say much, but I just think a story could be told with her.
Hibiki - one of my made up scenarios kind of plays out like Toradora! - she initially likes one of Junichi's friends and doesn't quite know how to approach him but as she spends more time with Junichi, feelings shift.
Mika Makihara - redemption arc for the girl that broke his heart.

I'm not really in a big hurry to get back to Love and Lies. The worldbuilding is just a little too weird for me and the characters weren't really doing it for me either. IDK, maybe one day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, I think Takagi-san is definitely in your wheelhouse. It's just cute; there really is no better word for it.

Kaoru Tanamachi is in my top 5 best girl/waifu list. I just love her character so much. And like I said before, I have no idea how many times I have watched her arc!

So over halfway through, huh? That means you made it through Sae and are in the Ai Nanasaki route somewhere. I hope you enjoy the rest of the series! I'm probably going to start watching it again in November. It was my Christmas show last year, so I might as well try to make it a tradition. XD

Yeah, I REALLY wish that game was available in English. Day one buy! I'll have to follow-up on the fan translation progress one day.

So, The Night is Short, Walk on Girl, is a really bizarre movie. I was almost going to drop it, but then there were musical numbers straight out of nowhere and that elevated it from a drop to a good score from me, lol. It's not the kind of movie that is easy to explain with words outside of its basic premise.
