Spoilers ahead.

I think what I liked most about the anime was the nostalgic feeling it evoked. Maybe it's just me, but this daydream of "what if I was back in my child's body with all of my current memories/ experiences" is all too familiar. And I think this was executed very well within the first episodes - this "rediscovery" of childhood memories.

The art was very well done, but personally I would say that the soundtrack could have been improved.

Now to the story itself: The two main plot points are (1) identifying mysterious kdinapper/ killer and (2) the rescue of Kayo Hinazuki from her abusive mother.

(1) ...

Mixed Feelings
tl;dr: It is an okay show. Main message: "Don't define your self-worth by what others think of you."

As someone who is more or less new to anime and doesn't have much contact to other fans, I had little to no bias when I began to watch this series. Of course, I knew that this series was praised by many people, but I still went into it not expecting much... and in the end, not much came of it.

There are two main flaws that spoil this anime for me: First off, the main cast is boring. This would not be that big of a deal ...

School Days (Anime) add
After watching "Mirai Nikki", I was pretty sure that I'd never find a main character I'd hate more than Yuki... but here we are. If there ever was a fictional character I hated from the very bottom of my heart, it has to be Makoto from "School Days".

Most of the other characters are not that well written either, with their motivations and allegiances randomly changing from one episode to the next. Nevertheless, you can not help but feel empathy for the two female main characters Katsura and Sekai who are really done dirty in different ways.

The best thing about this anime in my opinion is ...

I didn't read the manga, so I can't compare these two, but I think this anime can stand on its own.

Some plotpoints feel rushed, and it's certainly weird that they gave away the ending in the first episode... sometimes this works to increase the thrill, but here it really doesn't.

However, aside from this, I found it to be a very unique experience: At its core, it's a psychological journey through the hearts and minds of several broken people. All characters are weird and perverted, but most of them "redeem" themselves by at least being interesting.

The tone is kinda dark, which creates a stark contrast to ...

In case you are wondering whether or not you should watch the OVA: Go for it!

It has the same basic "vibe" as the original two seasons - the only difference being that the secret behind it all is already known to the watcher.

However, I don't think that's too bad of a thing: It's the Hinamizawa we all know and love, just going down a different path leading to its inevitable destruction.

Also, we get to see a blood-sprinkled Rena in action with her cleaver knife, Keeichi-Kun using Satoshi's bat, and overall just a whole lot of insanity.

All in all, it's something like a short version of ...

The story of Sotsu in itself was great, and together with the perfectly fitting artwork and music it just felt satisfying to watch...

However, my main problem with Sotsu is the "time-management":
Most of the answer-arcs could be shortened to one or two episodes, since they basically just repeat everything that happened inside the question-arc - just with some occasional scenes that remind you of what you already know from the ending of Gou.
Since the season only has 15 episodes and the answer-arcs for Gou make up ca. 12 or 13 of them, the actual ending feels rushed and like it could have been expanded on significantly.

Still, ...

First of: This is NOT just a remake of the original series. That's only what the series wants you to think... and by the time you have noticed what's going on, you're already trapped! ^^

But for real, I think this season has been the best one yet. It's a great feeling to see some of the most iconic scenes of the first two seasons rendered in this superb animation quality (especially when you compare it to the og) - yet at the same time, all these familiar scenes have a dreading, uncanny feeling of strangeness to them.

It is the perfect mixture of old and new, ...

This movie is basically the justification for Naruto's and Hinata's wedding at the ending of Shippuden: Ever since the original series, fans have suffered alongside with Hinata and her one-sided affection for Naruto.

I think, everyone agrees upon the fact that during the entire series, Naruto not once showed a glimpse of love for her, and for a shonen anime, that's okay I guess... but now, that the series is finally over, it's time to wrap things up and give everyone their deserved happy end.

So, if you were like me dying to finally see some NaruHina-romance, you have to see this movie.

Otherwise, it's not that special ...

If you don't expect the funniest jokes of the century and can live with the same basic story over and over again (a (stupidified) Orochimaru tries to destroy Konoha, just to be stopped by Lee, Tenten and Neji - and also "guest-stars" from all of Naruto Shippuden), it's pretty enjoyable:

Similiar to "Family Guy", there are a lot of cutaways (Rock Lee's non-chakra version of genjutsus) which present the characters in recurring roles (e.g. Neji being shown as a school-girl or as his alter ego "Nejiko") that deviate a lot from their usual personalities.

Just be warned: The 2nd season's opening song is one of the worst ...

I really enjoyed the original series, but the ending of ep 26 felt awfully rushed and left me craving for more - I mean, you can't just open up a whole alternative world in the last episode of your series and then just show like 50 seconds of it.

That's why I was very pleasently surprised when I found out that this OVA existed: It achieves everything the final episode didn't, and even though the OVA's ending also felt kinda rushed, it still gave a very good sense of closure to the series.

Most of the important characters make their appearence in this alternative world, and especially ...
