02 was a really cute character but god was that ending like "huh"
I think a lot of the later stuff was not directed by trigger but rather A-1/cloverworks (what they rebranded to) which explains why there was so much focus on the lovey dovey rather than like, the mechs n stuff.
At the end it felt like the mechs were all but forgotten, it's a tragedy
