What I really wanted to say was that I didn't feel like the show presented me something with enough impact for me to remember it clearly. Nothing really stood out to me except for that one scene. This might be my personal bias, but I wanted to say my honest opinion on the show. Sorry if I worded it poorly.

I wasn't trying to say the show had nothing related to the performing arts because it's obviously a show centered on girls studying to be performers. I was trying to say they didn't present the show well enough for me to be interested in those references.

It's true that perhaps there are many references to real life performing groups in the show, whether it be the Takaruzaka Revue or other performing groups.

But I feel that it's unfair to call a show great or good just because it calls reference to another great show or group in real life. It should be something enjoyable even without prior knowledge of elements presented. If I watched a remake of a movie, I shouldn't be forced to watch the original movie just to enjoy the new movie if it really is a good movie.

I have now watched over 300 anime seriers, OVA's and films, so that isn't a "few". I have watched anime from every decade since the 1970's, so yes I know a lot about anime and can speak on what makes a bad, average, or great anime.

The only part of your comment I slightly agree with are my reviews as I feel some of my very early reviews weren't well wriiten. Besides that I would suggest you get your head out of your ass, and watch more new and old anime to gain more perspective about the subject yor talking about.

Lastly why do you think I haven't been on this site really for years now, but if you love video games, films, comics, books, or anime there is no reason to give it up if you turn 21, 30, 40, or how ever old you are. If you have the time and money do what you enjoy, and if you fall in love with some one who loves anime or some other stuff you enjoy that's all the better for you and the person you love.

Because I'm petty, no, the answer to that in real life would go like that, but when in entertainment you rather have evidence first so that those watching can come up with a theory at the same time. Would you rather be given a drivers licenses yet not know how to actually drive or would you learn to drive to get the drivers licenses? Either way my review for that particular anime remains. I've watched and know enough about an anime/story to know when it has failed.

I know, but sometimes the persons in this portal take too much serious the reviewing idea and I was getting tired of the useless complains that's why I changed it. The ending was a pain to watch. An ending that we can predict since the start.
Pipe Oct 12, 2017 9:56 AM
Thanks, I will try.

About the rating, it was 8.0 but ... some persons complained about it and said that I wasn't coherent with the score and my review, so I decided to change it at the end. Honestly, Re: Creators can score 7.6 - 8.0 for me but I decided not changing the score back.

As I am new here on MAL and didn't have much contact with other users, I am surprised there are such sensitive people here. And don't forgett, those are not final reviews.

The deal with PriPri is not that it is told achronological, but that the show does nothing with this story structure. The show is mostly charackter driven, you said it yourself; and in this case there is no need to go for exactly this story telling element. I will capture one point you mentioned when Todo tries to decapitate Beatrice - now imagine the episode when the viewer is told that Beatrice's father did experiments on her would have been shown after the above mentioned scene. As a viewer I would ask myself "wow, why is she still alive", I would be as surprized as the samurai. Those would be interesting connection for my brain to find, but the show does not use this gimmick enough or well.

To characters: They are the reason I still watch the show, because I like them, especially Chise! What I mean by " hold back" is, that the show has great characters but puts them in simple situations( not in all episodes). Each episode is concentrated on 1 or 2 protagonists, there are not enough scenes with the full cast bouncing of each other.

To artwork: " This moe look does not mash well with dark and mature themes of the show and can lower the impact of emotional scenes. " I am fully aware moe look of charakters is used for world building, it just did not work for me, thus "CAN LOWER" not "WILL LOWER". Furthermore it is there not to express their inexperience as spies, but vulnerability and naivety in the cruel world they live in.
And I still think it was not neccessary to go for moe here, I don't need the show to explicitly point where I have to look to trigger my emotions, just a bit better writing with those great characters would do the job. It is sad there was so little confidence on this matter.

To Re:Creators
" Souta and Altair have received plenty of development"
Ep. 16, says right there in the review, not much Altair at that point. But now, that I have seen the whole show, I would say she is the worstcharacter: from nobody to omnipotent god being is not a pattern for good developmnet for me. Souta, he learned to talk about his problems after he did the same mistake, TWICE, and was forced by surrounded people to talk.

"Re:Creators actually does a great job at showing how issues are solved - you talk, talk and talk, until you find a solution you are able to implement. The exposition is necessary to understand the endgame...n."
The show repeats itself multiple times and beats one point for too long. Story is still better shown not told. And again the same feat like with PriPri, I don't need my hand hold, I don't need Altair to explain for 5 minutes why Alice is dead by her own attack, I don't need Meteora to recap the final battle at Setsuna's grave and many more.

"This has been done with Selesia, Aliceteria and Meteora. All three show different attitudes. There's also Magane which kills her Creator, or Yuya who simply doesn't give a fuck. There are those who are tired of the strife in their worlds, and those who are happy to have caring Creators, devoted to their stories. This isn't a philosophical show or a romcom to talk about feelings."
Show me one recruitment scene and why the charakter choose to follow A. or not and why. Why did Magane kill her creator? Why are some charakters happy others don't care? Becasue they were written that way?(great writting btw) The show must not be completely full with philosophical speeches just the basic sentences, that were the whole show in my head I would immediatelly say or ask in such situatio, were never answered.

" Except for every fight in the show, you are right. Sword fights are very close to PriPri, which is widely compared to sword fighting classics for its Todo vs Chise scene. I'd suggest a careful rewatch."
Which sword fights are there in Re:Creators? The show is just ability spam, no fighting choreography.

" Again, this is a slap in the face of anything called a "review".
Now listen here Mr. Pro Reviewer. Who are you writing those revies for? For yourself? For other anime fans? Are they hardcore or not? Who is your target audience? A longterm animefan will either watch the show from the start or inform himself on anime forums. Casual viewer comes on MAL, sees the score, maybe every 5th will read a review or 2. If there is a wall of text, he will skip it. So I try to write simple and short. And I don't think the quality of OP is crucial criteria whether someone should watch this anime or not.

" Sound is one of the most important things in cinematography"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinematography
A link to inform yourself a little about "cinematography". It has a lot of important aspects and sound is without doubt important. But saying it is the most important aspect is hypocritical and ignorant.

I have no idea how you rank shows; for me 5 is average and 4 is below average. And those shows are right there in the middle of the pile.

KitsunehimeMilhi Sep 16, 2017 2:35 PM
I suppose. I cannot deny that I'm biased for certain shows. If it works for you, it works.

Nice job trying to explain to NoizyFrog how bad his reviews are. I read that same Princess Principal review and though it was bad as well. Based on the quotes you mentioned from his re;creators review, he's just spitting out the same bullshit many other people are and basically all of it is no longer true. Whatever you're main goal is, hopefully you keep it up and get something out of it.

Additionally, I may not be a huge fan on monogatari, but seriously, putting Nise anywhere, but at the bottom of the list, out of the first 4 series anyway, is a disgrace to the other seasons. I don't want to start a fight, but Nise definitely had the most lack luster and boring monogatari plot and did worse than any other of the series, in every category. That last arc was extremely underdeveloped and flat. I guess, it's whatever though, since huge monogatari fans seems to really like Nise anyway.

It's not like you are a favor calling everyone that didn't like re:creators a "pseudo-expert spewing bullshit". In that case you are in that same pot, as you seem to enjoy most of it but you are not giving a single fact of why its good, your points make no sense as its pretty much the same you see in other reviews. I don't understand your hate towards someone who doesn't have your liking, or rather, you look fucking stupid for saying that and trying to be the HERO everyone needed. You just look like a pathetic pseudo-expert spewing bullshit, before saying something, make sure you don't look like one afterwards. Hypocrite, arrogant and ignorant is what you are :)
