No idea why I watched this, but felt like I shouldn't had even tho it's like 50mins long. I hoped it could achieve great narrative about Tohoku earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011, and how it affected the people around, but sadly there was nothing like that.
Story 2/10
There wasn't anything interesting with the story, it was a generic romance of a girl meets a cute boy. The movie portrays a highschool girl who plays violin and gets to meet a boy who draws art, the start meeting and end up liking each other.
Art & Animation 7/10
The background art was great, and most
...
probably the only good thing about this movie.
Character designs were pretty generic and sometimes even looked bad, and animation was just fine.
Sound 6/10
The aural aspects were lacking but they were bearable, their performance for school festival was good but I am not into classic music. The ending song was calming and soothing.
Characters 1/10
The main girl took most of the screentime and rest of the characters were only there for the sake of being there and their existence actually made them more annoying because the narrative wants us to automatically know all of them without giving them somewhat of a proper introduction.
Enjoyment 3/10
I enjoyed the background scenery more than I enjoyed anything else in this movie and that would give you an idea of how great this movie is.
Overall it's a 3/10, I would not recommend watching this movie.

"Wow, a work from Junichi Satou (Aria, Tamayura) and Mari Okada (MSG:IBO, AnoHana, Lupin III: Mine Fujiko), must be great!" These were my initial thoughts about this movie before watching it until my hopes were shattered when I actually got to watch this movie.
Story 3/10
A super clingy, full of energy girl Miyo Sasaki, nicknamed "Muge" who's in love with her classmate Kento Hinode, her indefatigable tries to get the attention of her crush were in vain so she thought of becoming a cat to get close to her crush which later turned out to be a deadly mistake because she had to throw her humanity
...
if she wanted to continue being a cat. The premise sounds normal but it's later butchered by it's own progress due to ambiguous and unexplained actions and sequences.
Art and Animation 6/10
The art was the best thing about this movie something that was granted to come in a work directed by Junichi Satou, the background art really reminded me of Tamayura. The animation was so-so, keeping in mind that it was done by the same studio that made Penguin Highway, a movie which excels in both art and animation. Sad too see that they downgraded the visuals rather than improving it.
Sound 5/10
Couple of OSTs here and there, nothing to great and worth memorable. It had no opening song and the ending song was mediocre as well.
Character 2/10
The characters were written lively, they felt alive. But that solely couldn't make them good or likable. Really disliked the main girl "Muge", really energetic, someone who'd just go and want to become a cat forever because she got rejected once despite her awfully clingy behavior and without even thinking about the consequences that were to come with it (e.g. leaving behind her close friend, and her parents who try their best to take care of her). And then there's her close friend who really should be the MC of this movie but her name is forgettable that even I don't remember even tho I just finished watching this movie, same can be said for Hinode's friend. Hinode, the male MC gives of serious furry vibes and likes to be kissed by a cat, he's a typical edgy teenage boy who'd try to do anything for his love even brawl with a giant cat, maybe that's because he's a furry.
Enjoyment 3/10
You know what I enjoyed in this movie? The background scenery.
Overall it's nothing more than a 3, a big disappointment coming from names such as Mari Okada and Junichi Satou. Tho it made me realize how much I love Tamayura, maybe I might do a rewatch.

“I want to connect, so Sarazanmai.”
As soon as I got to know that Kunihiko Ikuhara is going to direct this, I got excited for it. Kunihiko Ikuhara is a person who made his name in the industry for his uniqueness in series composition and storytelling which can be seen in his previous works such as Mawaru Penguindrum and Yuri Kuma Arashi.
Sarazanmai is also one of his bizarre works and it has one of those Japanese folklore creatures called "Kappa", an youkai (妖怪). The first kappa introduced in the series is a Kappa prince named "Keppi" whose noble Kappa Kingdom fell to the Otter
...
Empire and now the Kappa prince Keppi has lost much of his power and became helpless against the"Kapa-zombies" whom are invisible to humans, these zombies plague the world, and are the creations of the Otters and manifestations of people's deepest desires.
One day, second-years in middle school Kazuki Yasaka, Toi Kuji, and Enta Jinnai (The three MCs of the show) get to meet Keppi by coincidence, Keppi steals their shirikodama (It translates to "butt-small-ball" it's a an organ that the kappa can extract from the butt of a person) and transforms them into kappas. "To return to your original forms," Keppi tells them, "you must fight the zombies and take the shirikodama from them." According to the legends, the kappa would drown people in the river and then extract their shirikodama. So, you'd see the MCs using the gush of water to finally get shirikodama from the zombies. And all of this might not make sense to many but it's one of it's standing points.
Art and Animation 8/10
The background art was good, character models were somewhat generic but their outfits made them stand out, however the background characters were literally silhouettes which is pretty common in Kunihiko Ikuhara's works. The animation was super fine plus it had all of the characters dancing and singing from here and there.
Can't stop myself from mentioning how the ED was literally one of the most aesthetic EDs I've ever seen! It was done by Tao Tajima, a Japanese filmmaker.
Sound 9/10
The series had 31 OSTs each character having a unique one for itself, didn't like the opening song (Massara by KANA-BOON) as much as I liked the ending song (Stand by me by the peggies) do check it out, it's pretty cool.
Characters 7/10
The series initially introduced 3 MCs: "Kazuki Yasaka", who must carry a box with him wherever he goes; "Enta Jinnai", Kazuki's childhood friend; and "Tooi Kuji", a delinquent and a school truant. Even tho they all have distinct characteristics but they do have something in common such as relations they cherish and want to protect and secrets they want to hide which are revealed throughout the series.
Then we have Keppi, the kappa prince who serves as a mascot. Sara, an idol-like person, loved by many does TV-shows. Haruka, Kazuki's younger brother who loves Sara. The gay police officer dou: Reo and Mabo, the only characters I didn't like in this series. Chikai, Tooi's older brother and somewhat his everything.
Enjoyment 9/10
I enjoyed every bit of it except the sequence where the gay police officer dou would come and dance, it was cringy and unwatchable for me. There were a lot of Japanese puns which I don't understand how they might've pulled in the dub. And it had many cultural Japanese references and references to other anime as well but none of it could stop me from enjoying it, the show deserves more praise for how much of this stuff Kunihiko Ikuhara stuffed in it.
Overall it's a solid 8 from me, only if I could understand all of the the cultural Japanese references and puns, it could've been a masterpiece to me.

I had a couple of "What the fuck is this shit" moments during my watch but it ended up as "What the actual fuck is this shit".
Story 5/10
So the story takes place in Kyoto of 2027 where technology has fairly advanced, portraying the life of a socially awkward book-loving boy Naomi Katagaki and a book loving-girl named Ruri Ichigyou who has a cold personality. It's all good till this part.
So, this boy one day gets to meet his future self who came from 10 years later to meet his past self but not so that he could try to change the future regarding the
...
tragedy that is yet to come for Ruri but instead he reveals that this world is all a simulation and all he wants to do is capture some joyful moments of Ruri. But it's all a trainwreck after it, could be spoilers so I am skipping out on it.
Art and Animation 9/10
Even tho it's CG but it's the good kind of CG, it's only disturbing for couple of minutes but then you get used it. For me, the background art was most astounding aspect of this movie, seeing Kyoto in an aesthetically rendered version of itself was really blissful. Can't say the same for character art tho, they were very similar to KyoAni.
Sound 7/10
The aural aspects actually made me enjoy this trainwreck of a movie, specially the insert song for the ending sequence. Even still I don't really remember any other outstanding soundtrack from it.
Characters 4/10
The character models and character writing was all pretty generic. First of all the main characters looked like they're stolen from KyoAni.
And there's nothing much interesting about the characters in case of writing as well, socially awkward boy falls in love and now will do anything to save his love which includes fucking up a world. And lord, the female lead was so dull, I mean she didn't even say a single word seeing her lover do some stupid sci-fi stuff through his hand.
Enjoyment 5/10
I somewhat enjoyed the movie but too many "What the fuck is this shit" moments ruined my enjoyment from time to time.
Overall I'd give it a 5.2, truthfully it's another good concept but yet again suffering from bad execution of plot. The characters could use some better writing, albeit the art and animation was amazing.

I originally didn't plan to watch SEED but it's HD remaster made me give it a try and the mecha designs made me continue it past first ep which ended me being involved with the huge cast.
Story 6/10
Just like any other Gundam series, SEED also follows the story of some teenagers having extraordinary abilities to pilot a mobile suit. But this time the pilots with exceptional piloting skills are Coordinators; human beings whose biological traits have been altered before birth. The Coordinators shelter themselves in man-made space colonies because the hatred received from the Naturals the unaltered people. As the war continues both sides
...
get tired of it and take extreme measures in trying to stop it having the cast play along in this quest of bloodshed.
Art and Animation 7/10
The character art has surely aged but mecha designs were greatly drawn as always and as expected from a Gundam show. Considering this is from 2002 the animation was good specially in battles.
Sound 8/10
The aural aspects of this show are alone worthy to commend. The soundtrack for all the battle scenes, character drama scenes just give the feeling of a classic show. All of the openings, endings and the insert songs were good.
Characters 6/10
The characters were written adequately to portray like real life humans and subjectively it can work both ways; bad or good. Even tho the cast was huge but every character got their enough share of the screentime and a lot could be written on a single character from the series. Being honest... I can't say that I liked Kira or Arthrun, my favorite character would either be Mu La Flaga or Rau Le Creuset, other than them I liked Natarle Badgiruel and Murrue Ramius.
Enjoyment 6/10
The first half of the series just goes slow and portray teenage drama which killed most of my enjoyment but the latter half makes up for it.
Overall I'd give this show a solid 7. Even tho I had my problems but it's a decent show.

P.A. Works' first ever anime sequel, adapting Tomihiko Morimi's "The Eccentric Family: The Junior Returns", something which is well written and well crafted just like it's prequel.
Story 10/10
The story continuing from where it was left behind in season 1 yet expanding the universe more and giving enough time to explore and get invested in characters. Tho this time the tension doesn't surround the Tanukis alone but Tengu as well, introducing a key character to the plot known as "Nidaime" son of Akadama aka Sensei.
Art 10/10
The art of this show is second to known, it's unique; the art itself easily creates a lively situation which
...
leaves the viewer in awe. Some of the locations are drawn just amazing and makes me want to revisit them from time to time.
Sound 10/10
"Moon River" ED was done by fhana, a great one from a great artist. Other than that, the OP "Nasugamama, Sawagumama" by milktub and overall soundtracks specially the ambient music is very notable. The music changes from wacky to calm according to the scenes.
Characters 10/10
Every character in this show play a good part in the story, you get to see and know about everyone. Yaichirou and Tousen's relationship, the journey of Yajirou (The frog of the well) to find himself, Yasaburou and his melancholy, Yashirou being a protecc material, Kaisei getting more screen-time and her granny being a fluff ball, Benten's agony from some sequences, Nidaime coming back to Kyouto and his arc... Like there's a lot, and it's all written very well, you won't find a single character to be boring or out of place in the story.
Enjoyment 10/10
I enjoyed every single episode of this show without getting annoyed or feeling that it's getting repetitive instead it made me crave for more.
Overall 10/10
The story, art, sound, characters... Everything just fits so perfectly. It actually saddens me that there's nothing more of this.

Adapted from greatly talented author Tomihiko Morimi's novels with the same names, comes this show which tells a story of Japanese raccoon dogs rather known as "Tanukis". Tanukis have been significant in Japanese folklore since ancient times. The legendary tanuki is reputed to be mischievous and jolly, a master of disguise and shapeshifting, but somewhat gullible and absentminded.
The author having all of the above traits of this animal in mind wrote a peculiar and entertaining tale that is sometimes heartwarming and fuzzy, or sometimes is supreme and anarchic. The story surrounds a family of tanuki, the Shimogamo family. They have the ability to transform into
...
anything they wish, from humans to any animate/inanimate object. The family must balance between living carelessly, maintaining relationships among other tanuki families, and not getting put into a hot pot and get eaten by humans.
The characterization of the characters, their uniqueness, the wacky and deep dialogues just show the strong pen power of the author.

Mother of Iyashikei genre, when I say this; I mean it because the whole aura of the show just takes you in and forces you to feel warm and fuzzy.
Story 7/10
I was quite surprised to find out that the story takes place on a planet other than ours, yes, the story takes place on Mars! And now it's known as Aqua because it's filled with water.
In a place called Neo-Venezia of planet Aqua, Venezia means Venice if you already couldn't tell... There lives a girl named Akari who's on her way to learn the masteries of an Undine or you can just call it
...
gondolier, each episode shows her daily life and of those around her as she gets to meet them after and after. Even tho it sounds basic but that's what makes it better.
Art and Animation 10/10
This show is from 2005 and god, it's so beautiful and aesthetic! The background art of the whole city as it's shown in different episodes of Akari's journey, the way water is portrayed, the way characters are shown and animated is just great.
Sound 8/10
The aural aspects are substantially good with not only being limited to OP/ED and soundtracks but all the background noises including the sound of water and it's waves as it splashes.
Characters 9/10
The show's 'plot' is very basic but what makes it good are the characters since their daily lives are the main focus. All the main cast is of female characters albeit each character is written adequately well and feels real, they have their own ambitions and goals they want to achieve and their interaction with each other is not only enjoyable but pleasing as well.
Enjoyment 8/10
It's not anything cosmologically amazing, it doesn't have any flashy action sequences with over the top animation but that doesn't mean it's not enjoyable. It's a relaxing show, if you had a tough day then you can just sit down and watch this peacefully as it soothes your soul and you'll surely enjoy the heck out of it even tho the story itself won't progress much.
Overall I'd easily give this show 8 out of 10.
