I never did say Gantz was my fave anime and I actually thought it sucked in certain aspects, due to how it was poorly directed & animated. It's the manga which I enjoyed and if you actually liked the survival concept then you should check out the manga as well because there's a huge difference.
Well it looks like someone didn't like Gantz but that was mostly Gonzo's fault (the guys who animated it) because the manga has more fast paced action and the anime only told 20% of the story. ^_^
Hahaha, god, man. Your review of the first Gantz season was /exactly/ how I felt it too. "Why can't anything HAPPEN already without them having to stand frozen for three episodes babbling about what they should do and what's morally right and if they're supposed to shoot or not"...
