I expected this show to be a nice slice-of-life series because the opening provides three main girls with pretty dresses singing about friendship. Then it quickly turns out to be a vicious comedy about the three main jealous schoolgirls who have brought some wacky, over-the-top sense of humor. Hilarious situations and rapid gags between the three main girls are what make this show so entertaining, and I am amazed by the direction and cleverness of the humor.

Olivia is an American that was raised in Japan and speaks very little English. Together with their teacher adviser, they form the Pastimer's Club, though what the club actually does is debatable. Most of their adventures take place in their club room, which I'm surprised they haven't surmounted significant damage from their antics.
The anime-style tends to jump from one style to another. One minute is a typical anime style, then the next one is an art reminiscent of horror anime, then it goes into another art style, and so on. Most of the episodes are done in skit fashion, jumping from one misadventure to another. Their adventures range from defending their club room from other usurping clubs that actually do things, to hi-jinks trying to figure out what to do that day. Most episodes end with a live-action puppet show, detailing some form of past time.
The voice acting is incredibly well done, with Hina Kino being a standout of the show. She's done phenomenally well as Hanako, and I'm especially impressed by her distinct voice range. Konomi Kahara and Rika Nagae have also done an exceptional job as Kasumi and Olivia as well, respectively, and they all have brought a lot of passion to their roles. Asobi Asobase is one of the funniest comedy anime I've ever watched, and I hope there could be season 2 of this show some time.

Adachi to Shimamura is a light-hearted, relaxing shoujo-ai series released in this season. Believe it or not, I was actually interested in watching this show mainly because I am a fan of the seiyuu cast, and character designs look aesthetically pleasing. I decided to watch this, and thankfully, it piqued my interest. It has become one of my favorite yuri series, and it's my personal favorite anime in Fall 2020.

all the yuri series I have watched so far. Both are extremes of emotional states all of us have felt at one time or another, and both are fundamentally flawed human beings in different ways. Both of them called themselves as "delinquents" because they had a habit of skipping class. It is their gradual emotional development that makes up the substance of the series, both in general and to each other.
Hogetsu Shimamura is a reasonably functional, sociable girl who just has no real attachment to life. She is unwilling to put relationships beyond the bare minimum effort towards them because she feels that human relationships are bothersome and require too much effort to maintain such balance. She is passive, she's never takes the initiative, and she doesn't speak her preference about where the flow of time carries her. She's also a bit of an airhead, as well as being an indifferent kind of girl, and it made her to skip class as well as not being aware of Adachi's own flaws initially. Shimamura has two of her other friends, who are Hino and Nagafuji.
Sakura Adachi, on the other hand, is both shy and unsociable. She's so introverted, she finds herself incapable of connecting with others because she can't clearly speak what's on her mind, and it make the entire situation difficult for her. She is very lonely in every sense of the word, she didn't even have much of a relationship with her family. It's this suffocating loneliness that has made her to also skip class. Adachi has finally met her first partner, Shimamura, the first person she ever truly wanted to interact with. Then they eventually became friends and started getting into the relationship together.
Shimamura was my favorite because she's actually pretty sweet and humble, albeit she's indifferent, & she likes to tease sometimes. Also, she's voiced by Miku Itou who is my personal favorite seiyuu because of her sweet voice. Then I noticed that Adachi has an introverted personality that is similar to mine because she and I have had some emotional problems. It makes her especially relatable to me, and it also makes her such an interesting, well-written character. If I'm Adachi, I would feel pretty similar when I get to have a relationship with someone because I'm pretty introverted myself, and I wouldn't mind at all if I can meet a person like Shimamura. Both characters are very likable with different kinds of flaws, and both end up in relationship in a pure, simple way at a slow, but steady pace.
Hino is a bubbly, petite girl who enjoys fishing, and she often complains not having friends who have a similar interest. Her childhood friend Nagafuji is a busty, mature girl who's also an airhead, and she slaps Hino whenever Hino touches her chest. Those two are both very lovable and entertaining, and they even give some helpful advice to Adachi and Shimamura to balance out their conflicting relationship. Yashiro, the mascot of the series, is a girl in the astronaut suit who turns out to be a glowing blue-haired alien girl. She really loves sweets and she can even eat them under her helmet! Personally, I find her annoying, and she's the only part that I don't like in the anime. She seems to be out-of-place, and I can tell that Shimamura feels irritated when she meets this alien loli.
The artsyle of this is both crisp and beautiful, and I would like to give props to Tezuka Productions, which is the same animation studio that made The Quintessential Quintuplets. I'm really impressed on how beautifully illustrated the animations and character designs are, and the lighting helps highlighting the emotion scenes well. The voice acting is incredibly well done, and Akari Kito, Miku Itou, Manami Numakura, and Reina Ueda all have done an amazing job portraying their characters.
To me, a plot doesn't have to be ground-breaking to make the anime enjoyable. Adachi to Shimamura proves itself to be a highly entertaining romance anime without wasting the viewer’s time bringing up typical, nonsensical tropes, although there are some fanservice in some scenes. The main characters are relatable and well-written, and their relationship gives me a wholesome feeling. Adachi to Shimamura is one of my personal favorite yuri series I've watched, and I recommend this to the fans of the slice-of-life shoujo-ai series.

I watched Yuru Yuri all three seasons back in late 2015, and not only that it's one of the best slice of life comedies I've seen, but it's also one of the best anime I've ever watched, because it's so damn light-hearted and funny! The things that I really love most about Yuru Yuri is how pleasing for me to watch, and I really love the endearing characters, with each of them having unique personalities. Every single character has her own personality and behavior, and they have a relationship with each other, hence the word "Yuri" in the title.

a protagonist of the show, and she gets to join the Amusement Club alongside her friends, Kyoko Toshino and Yui Funami. Eventually, Chinatsu Yoshikawa was convinced to join the Amusement Club as well, in which she was originally intended to join the tea ceremony club with her older sister. As the time went on, Akari were lacking in presense, considering the fact that other girls in the Amusement Club had more screen time, particularly Kyoko. Fortunately, this doesn't stop Akari from being such a memorable character, because her running gag of the "lack" of presence is also what makes her special, and she's really charming.
My favorite character of the show is Himawari Furutani, because she's one of the coolest, most graceful characters I've seen in the anime. She's also extremely nice, but she gets to argue with Sakurako Oomuro, because Sakurako gets jealous of Himawari's physical values, such as her breasts being annoying to Sakurako. Despite of that, Himawari does appear to hold feelings for her, and she often helps her with her homework. Himawari is voiced by Mimori Suzuko, and she's one of my favorite seiyus since I've listened to her as Umi Sonoda!
I have to say that Yuru Yuri is definitely one of my favorite anime of all time. The characters are really entertaining and funny, every episode is great, and the voice acting is incredible. While some other slice of life anime were occasionally funny, this one is consistent, because I hardly get bored of it in one bit. Also, Himawari is one of my favorite anime girls. Yuru Yuri is the best slice of life comedies I've personally watched. I literally love everything about it.

This is my first review of an anime I've made for quite a long time, so please bear with me. Personally, I'm a big fan of slice-of-life shows like Yuru Yuri, Non Non Biyori, Sound! Euphonium, etc., and I've watched them ever since I've watched Azumanga Daioh, which was originally released back in 2002. But Yuru Camp, aka Laid-Back Camp, is easily one of the most relaxing, laid-back anime I've watched along with Non Non Biyori. Yuru Camp is perfect to make me forget about all my worries in the world momentarily.

glance, but the characters are what separates this anime from other slice-of-life anime, and how cute they are. It's cute girls going camping, and who doesn't love them? Yuru Camp did not have much of the plotline, but it did have some character development. We get to see Rin, who's experienced in solo camping, has become more open to camp with her friends. Plus, the campers have recruited a young girl to the guild! Otherwise, the anime mainly just show a lot of mischievous camping fun between high school girls, and the narrator, voiced by Akio Otsuka, even teaches the viewers some helpful camping tips!
The characters are all unique, and they are all pretty likable. Rin is a confident, relatable girl who likes to be alone but doesn't mind being friends with other girls. Nadeshiko is a ditzy, energetic girl who likes to eat a lot, and she has made some of the cutest facial expressions I've ever seen. Her Tareme eyes has already made herself cute, and I really like her energetic personality. Aoi is a very nice girl who has a cute little fang, and Chiaki is the tomboy with glasses along with her fiesty personality. My favorite character of the show is Ena, who's Rin's best friend, and she's voiced by one of my top favorite seiyuus, Rie Takahashi. Her voice is so soothing, and I really wish she would get more screen time. The voice acting in general is well done, with Nao Touyama being the other standout by making Rin such a cool character.
Overall, Yuru Camp is an incredible anime that gives its maximum comfiness to viewers like me. Being a slice-of-life moe anime, it was odd that there was not really any downtime in the series, but maybe the "downtime" was all the cute scenes and I was so happy that I didn't really have to care about my viewing experience. I am very excited for Season 2 of Yuru Camp in 2021, and I really hope that this anime will be dubbed in English if possible. This anime is easily one of my favorite slice-of-life anime I've watched, and I highly recommend watching Yuru Camp to slice-of-life fans. You won't regret it, and it might even inspire you to go out camping like many people after watching the anime.
