WOW!! What a series!! A friend recommended it to me knowing I'm a huge romance fan and it was SOOOO much more than I expected!!
Honestly from episode 1 this series had me immediately hooked. The premise was interesting enough but then just kept adding and adding to the quality of the series making it better and better over time! The series explores a ton of interesting things to do with its premise of everyone is an animal and the big conflict between carnivores and herbivores. The series never loses track of that conflict and its the main source of trouble for our protagonists and their
...
relationship with each other. It had me on the edge of my seat watching it all unfold. I binged this entire series in one sitting without moving for breaks or anything cause I was that invested in this story and these characters. You really wouldn't expect that from a series all about animals lol.
OH MY GOD, THE CHARACTERS!!! The characters in this series are SO LOVABLE AND INTERESTING!! Legoshi (The main character) is so lovable and nice that you honestly just want everything to work out for him. But this is a drama series so things don't always work out however the drama is so good, and this is coming from someone who hates drama. It was handled so well and seeing the characters develop throughout the series was soooo satisfying. Legoshi and Haru are the most adorable thing ever!! They're so cute together that I was rooting for them to get together the entire series but it also had other things to offer outside of the romance which got me so interested. I originally got in for romance but it ended up giving me this amazing story as well. When
I started this series I thought Haru would be this cute, wholesome, all kind girl that you see in most anime. Especially because of her appearance. But she wasn't, she was BETTER!!! She was a genuinely interesting character with her flaws, problems and she was really believable. That might be one of the reasons I was so invested cause these non-human characters felt more like people than a lot of normal anime characters do. Whoever made the manga really knew how to write characters expertly. Legoshi is the same, he's shy and cowardly contrasting his wolf origin but he's so much more. He can be brave or assertive when he needs to be and is a genuinely complex character! These two were so good to watch. The series starts off slow for these two but later it gets SOOO GOOD!!
The plot twists in this series are also another interesting thing. The whole point in plot twists is you don't expect them so I won't say much on the matter but this series genuinely had me shocked at some reveals and revelations.
The music in this series can get really good. But for once though I never really thought about the music in the background. Which is honestly amazing cause normally music makes a scene 100x better and more impactful but I was so engrossed in the story that the music just blended into my mind. Honestly just goes to show how invested I was in this series.
I implore you! If you love romance and like or can tolerate drama to go give this a watch! You will not regret it! I know I didn't. This was one of the very few anime that genuinely gripped me in from start to finish and I can only think of two others that have managed to do the same. You get people talking about the few gems in anime, well today I definitely know what they're talking about. Beastars is a gem of an anime!
Very high 10/10!!

This OVA is basically more of what we love and nicely tieing up the series and story in a satisfying way.
Whats nice about these OVAs is that its free from any drama so we can just see the characters we've gotten to know have fun and see their daily lives. Its cute having one part focus on Hina going for a walk on her own then seeing another one focus on Miu and her friend (Voiced by the goddess Iguchi Yuka which had me grinning everytime she spoke) dressing up in Yuri-san's cosplays.
That OP and ED are so dam catchy and having them play
...
at the end of my 600th re-watch was very satisfying. The second OVA really gives a satisfying conclusion to the series having Yuri-san and the father come back to look on how they're kids are doing. Its a really emotional episode if you like the characters as much as I do. It is a really nice episode cause it proves that this world has a concept of heaven and that they'll eventually meet again.
Basically if you liked the main series (which you probably did if you're here and probably have already watched this lol) I think you'll love these OVAs. They're an icing on the cake to a great series and its a really emotional ending. Having this OVA episode be my 600th anime re-watch was so satisfying, especially with the OP and ED playing at the end.
I throughly enjoyed these OVAs and the ending really got me. 9/10 cant wait to re-watch it again in the future.

Bofuri is literally the most cutest series Ive ever watched, and Ive watched A LOT of anime.
Bofuri constantly had me gushing over how BLOODY ADORABLE Maple is and the clumsy things she does. She is the literal definition of adorable. You couldnt make something more adorable if you tried.
The characters all work really well off each other. Especially Maple and Sally, those two are definitely girlfriends lol. I loved seeing Maple and Sally have their own little adventures together then later on gaining a guild and members. Honestly the full cast are just like the series itself, wholesome as hell. They're all just having fun
...
playing this game together and seeing their reactions when Maple gets a new ridiculous skill is hilarious. Especially when they think they've seen the most of it.
Honestly I cant see a need to do a long review I genuinely just absolutely loved watching this series and really think people should watch it too. If you love wholesome slice of life but also want action mixed in Bofuri is the perfect choice.
Maple is best girl, this anime is beautiful, 9/10 will guarenteed re-watch in the near future.

Honestly going into The Quintessential Quintuplets I expected it to be a normal harem and I was completely content with that. However, I was completely wrong. This series manages to surprise me so many times and got me genuinely invested in these characters.
The premise is really interesting. One of them is the childhood friend Fuutarou met when he was little and one of them is the bride that he will eventually marry in the future. Getting hints throughout the story of who he is going to choose was one of my favourite things to do while reading this manga. The author really puts effort
...
into developing characters all equally to not give any obvious answers as to who might win and always keep the reader wondering and hoping that their favourite will win. I was already spoiled on who would win but that's what got me into the manga in the first place after finishing the anime so I didn't mind. On the contrary, it made my reading that much more enjoyable and helped me see all the subtle hints the mangaka leaves throughout the story to suggest who won and who he has chosen. Overall it's really engaging to read even if you know who's won as I did. It must be even better for someone who doesn't know the outcome and has the constant worry and uncertainty of who wins. This series is really effective at dividing up the screentime between characters to keep up that uncertainty and they build up the ending to beautiful effect. It feels this was definitely planned from the very beginning and left me feeling so satisfied when I got to the end of this great story.
The characters are all great. I didn't have a single character I disliked which is very rare for a harem. It just goes to show how well the author developed every character to be likable. There were some ups and downs for certain characters but overall I loved the entire cast. They all had their own quirks and personalities and all had their own problems and way of dealing with things that made it more and more interesting to keep reading to see how events would get resolved. The author manages to develop all five of the sisters to amazing effect and give them all depth. They also manage to twist normal harem tropes into making them unique and interesting such as Nina who at first seems like the typical tsundere but later on is given character development that changes her character in a very surprising way. All of them have some sort of character development throughout the story that makes you want to route for all of them at the same time. Miku and Ichika also get tons of development and the author really explores the problems that come from being Quintuplets. There is quite a bit of drama between the sisters throughout the series but that's to be expected when five sisters like the same guy. Some of the conflicts I was genuinely worried and concerned about how they would be resolved especially when it came to the outside characters such as the sister's dad who acts as the opposing emotionless farther. Despite making all the girls lovable I can bet that most will probably end up supporting one slightly more than the others at some point in the story. For me that was Yotsuba. But in my case, it was less supporting her slightly more than the others and more so supporting her completely. She was by far my favourite character in the series and she never ceased to amaze me at how much of an angel she was. Her cuteness and sometimes awkwardness were adorable to see and she supports all the sisters and Fuutarou through thick and thin. Always giving encouraging smiles and cheeky grins. Every time she smiled or grinned I couldn't help but so the same. Ever since I saw her character design on the cover of the anime I immediately knew she would be my favourite, and to my expectation, she was, easily.
The art is really nice. As you can see on the cover the mangaka has a really nice style for making the girls looking cute. But as most mangakas, this one can do serious expressions really well so when the drama started kicking in you can bet there's gonna be some detailed expressions in those panels. I also really like the way the author takes full advantage of the fact the harem is made up of quintuplets to trick the reader and get them thinking. Most of the drama does originate from the fact they're quintuplets and the mangaka uses that to trick the reader by having the sisters change their appearances so while Fuutarou is trying to figure out who is who so are we. It's really satisfying when you get towards the end of the manga and start to notice the patterns in the character's actions and expressions to help determine who is who. It really shows how much I loved these characters to be able to distinguish them apart even when they dress the same way to purposely try and trick the reader and Fuutarou.
Now drama is quite present throughout this manga so if you can't really handle drama then it probably won't interest you that much but the mangaka handles it in a way that keeps it interesting and gives enough rewarding scenes in between the drama-filled arcs that its enjoyable to read.
The ending was also a pretty nice way to round up the series. It did feel a little bit compensating for everyone else who's ship didn't win but it wasn't that bad so it can be forgiven.
Now here's a word of warning, if you're easily offended if your favourite character doesn't win I wouldn't suggest reading all of this manga since there is a 1/5 chance your character will win. I would highly recommend reading most of it though as its a great story. If you don't want Fuutarou to pick someone I'd suggest stopping at around the 87 chapter mark as after that is when he starts seriously considering the prospect.
However overall this is an absolutely great harem manga that I highly recommend people go out and read immediately. The entire cast is likable making me feel as if I didn't care who won out of the five (at least at first) and they're all developed really well to the point where I feel very familiar with all they have to offer.
9/10, if you love harem manga you'll probably like this as long as you can accept him choosing someone.

Tada-kun never falls in love is a really good and wholesome romance anime and I loved every bit of it.
The premise is just your ordinary high school setting with a club of high schoolers. As usual with these types of anime it's all about the characters and they're all great. Honestly, all the cast had their own unique thing and seeing them gag off each other with the jokes was hilarious to see. Ijuin was the comedic one and seeing his and Alec's interactions really made me smile alongside Hajime and Hinako who had their own unique thing going on. Most importantly the main relationship
...
between Tada and Teresa was my favourite part of this series, as it is with most romance anime. Seeing these two together just filled me with happiness and that warm feeling it was so wholesome. Their smiles are really contagious and I couldn't stop grinning seeing them together.
This is definitely one of the most wholesome romance anime I've watched and these types are always my favourite. I love romance anime like this which are light on drama and are just wholesome experiences to enjoy. I really like the way that Tada-kun never falls in love is much more subtle with its romance. Most romance anime go all out with tropes and over the top characters as their leads but Tada-kun takes it much more subtle having two main leads who are genuinely just nice people and are so good together. I also like how Tada-kun handles its romance and puts a twist on the order of things. Instead of the boy falling for the girl first, its the girl falling for the boy first. Its always so nice to see just the subtle hints at their feelings like occasionally looking their way or being happy around them. The romance in Tada-kun is definitely much more realistic than normal anime which makes it such a charm to watch.
That OP is so catchy as well. Having lyrics about love and mixing in the themes of cameras and photos. I didn't skip this OP once when I first watched it and definitely didn't skip it when I re-watched it recently.
My only problem with the series is that there's no season 2. I would love to see more of Tada and Teresa and their daily lives. Sadly since this is an anime original there is no source material either.
Overall I strongly recommend watching this anime if you like wholesome romance as I do. You won't be disappointed. Along with its more subtle way of telling a romance story, I feel Tada-kun is a must-watch for romance lovers who want a new and refreshing take on romance anime.

School Live is a psychological horror of cute girls doing cute things while trying to survive the zombie apocalypse.
The story is very basic, the girls are surviving in a zombie apocalypse. Its very standard in terms of the zombie genre but it's the characters that truly make this series shine. The cast is so lovable to the point of dangering your health from worrying about their safety. Yuki is my personal favourite and she's one of my favourite characters ever. She's very complex just like the rest of the main four and that's what I love about this. Kurumi is the lovable tomboy, Yuuri is
...
the kind older sister and Miki the serious kouhai. If I ever had to choose a favourite group it would definitely have to be the School Living Club. They just have so much good chemistry together that makes the series that much more fun and engaging to watch and read. The manga helped develop what I already knew about these complex characters and got me so engaged to the point of tears and heart-pounding worry. The characters are constantly evolving and showing new sides to them that keeps me reading and wanted to see more. By the end of the manga, I genuinely think the main four of this series are some of the best-developed characters I've ever seen. Especially how they handle Yuki is my favourite part of this series. The mangaka really has made a beautiful piece of art here with this cast and story.
One of the best parts of School Live that make it so good is its use of psychological manipulation. This series will mess with your head on so many occasions. Its what originally got me so interested in the series in the first place and after finishing the anime I immediately started researching and learning about all the little details the series does to portray information, especially surrounding Yuki. Honestly, the psychological elements of this series are unmatchable and masterfully done. Its one of the only series to every genuinely trick me into believing one thing, only for the truth to be shocking me to the core.
The art for School Live is AMAZING!! The mangaka really has a skill for doing character expressions as if you simply search a reaction shot of a character from School Live you'll immediately see. Their expressions really give a sense of dread or happiness depending on the situation. The detail the mangaka gives with some of the frames are extraordinarily done and is the best art I've ever seen from a manga.
Now admittedly I feel the anime did a 10x better job on the portion it covered but that's because they probably had an amazing director to make the changes from manga to anime to enhance and improve it. The manga portion was still enjoyable to read and the second you get past the anime section of the manga it really kicks it into high gear of tension, fun and memorable moments till the very end. This story will never leave me and it was an epic journey from start to end.
In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend anyone who likes horror, CGDCT, Slice of life, or simply find the premise interesting to immediately pick this up and give it a read, you won't regret it.

Ok, I've finally finished this series and I'm READY PERFECTLY!!
Honestly some of the new comedy anime these days are getting better and better and Cautious Hero is next in line for one of the best. The concept of a hero being SUPER cautious and preparing unnecessarily sounds boring in theory but it's hilarious in execution. Basically, this anime is Konosuba if Kazuma had a cooler voice and was super cautious. Honestly have to say I prefer this over Konosuba.
Story:
The story is simple and easy to understand and follow. Seiya and Ristarte need to defeat the demon lord. To do this they have a few
...
goals along the way and gain some companions like any other adventure anime but Seiya makes it all unique and all the typical tropes are flipped on their heads then he gets involved.
Comedy:
Cautious Hero's comedy is pure gold. The first few episodes I literally couldn't hold in my laughter and was crying my eyes out for a good amount of time after the jokes were made. In episode one he kills a slime instantly but decides it wasn't safe and kept blowing up the spot it was in over and over and over again. This type of over the top comedy is exactly my thing. The back and forth between Seiya and Ristarte was perfect. The retorts and general conversations between them were the best parts of the series. Seiya's willingness to smack a girl in the face without hesitation is hilarious. Cautious Hero's comedy clearly mirrors that of Konosuba but does it in a different way that isn't self-deprecating with every joke. Ristarte is the brunt of most of the jokes with Seiya calling her useless but that's about the extent of those types of jokes which I feel makes it more enjoyable to watch for me personally as those jokes are funny but an entire series on them alone isn't very re-watchable. Cautious Hero does mainly rely on Ristarte and Seiya's main jokes (To beautiful effect) but the goddesses from the other Realm also bring in their quirks and jokes to vary it up so we're not constantly seeing the same things.
Characters:
I've got to say it now, Cautious Hero has some of the best characters I've seen in anime, period. In terms of comedy at least, Seiya and Ristarte have the most perfect compatibility for a comedy duo. Seiya constantly dissing Ristarte and giving her insults with his seemingly emotionless reactions while Ristarte is the complete opposite, constantly shouting and screaming much like Aqua from Konosuba. However, I definitely prefer Ristarte over Aqua as Ristarte has this likability to her, unlike Aqua. Seiya as well as such a good main protagonist with his comebacks and emotionless reactions like he couldn't care less. His facial expressions when the camera shows them are priceless. Seiya also doesn't waste time at all, he talks quite quickly which makes his quick insults even funnier as it really shows he couldn't care less. No matter how many times I see it seeing Seiya refute the bad guys and say "I predicted this would occur" and then proceed to show us his ridiculous amount of preparation is beautiful comedy gold. Ristarte's reactions are also just as good when Seiya does this. The countless goddesses we meet are all pretty interesting and unique in their own ways and they play really well with Seiya's style of comedy making some pretty funny reactions with how OP Seiya is.
Music:
The music is great for this series. Particularly the OP which at first I wasn't that into but after some time as most OPs do it grew on me. Towards the end of the series, I was bobbing my head to the catchy as hell theme tune and the "Oh yeah! Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah!" and seeing the goddesses dance.
Overall:
I absolutely loved this series and think its one of the best this anime season has to offer. It's one of the best comedies I've ever watched and made me laugh myself crying over and over again without fail. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes over the top comedy like me and is a fan of the type of Konosuba adventuring.
9/10 Will guaranteed be re-watching this in the near future.

Now, this was a really interesting anime, to say the least.
Oresuki basically takes all the tropes of a rom-com harem anime and mocks them to great success. I love how self-aware this anime is when it's making fun of typical harem tropes and how Joro is constantly addressing the audience with his internal monologues. This series definitely has a unique way of showing comedy and its great because of it. Honestly this is the third review Ive done this season with anime that are super unique, its great.
Speaking of comedy, it's great. Honestly, some of the best I've seen. It plays on the tropes of
...
typical anime so well and since we've all grown accustomed to the normal stuff when Oresuki's first episode starts you're immediately thrown out of the loop and immediately intrigued and engaged. I love the idea of Joro trying to be this typical main harem protagonist only for him to actually be an absolutely scummy guy that the series somehow makes us love just like Konosuba did with Kazuma.
This series has a unique way of doing things when it comes to characters. Basically, DONT TRUST ANYONE!! Anyone and everyone is lying to you every second. By the time I was 3/4s through this series, I became one of the most pessimistic people on earth lol. I doubted every new character and immediately started thinking "So what scheme have you got for us this time?". Himawari is probably my favourite female character with Pansy coming in second. I didn't like Pansy at first because of the way she was portrayed but as this series is built on schemes when the conflict is over and everything gets revealed you end up liking the characters by the end of them despite what they've said and done. You'll definitely not find a cast like Oresuki's anywhere else.
Now the music is beautiful. Both the ED and OP and catchy as all hell and I never skipped them once. Both of them are strong contenders for the best of the season with the ED practically winning it immediately. I absolutely love the voice of the main singer in the OP with her unique voice which is different from normal ones. It's hard to describe but she has a certain accent or way of singing that is appealing as hell.
The art style is equally as good with all its bright colours to bring out the best in the girls. I like how it plays with the colour scheme with certain characters to add to their facade and make them seem nice and innocent. The eyes, especially in this series, are really nice and shiny which helps with reactions. It good contrast the main character, Joro, is full of dark colours and wears a normal black uniform to show his side character status which the series promotes really well.
Now one complaint I do have about Oresuki which is that it sadly towards the second half of the series ditches its original concept of "Are you the only one who loves me?" which is the reason I got interested in this series in the first place and leans more towards normal harem territory. However it still manages to keep its quality comedy going for a bit longer before it gets to the "end of slice of life anime serious episodes" so it wasn't experience ruining. I still loved this anime until the end.
Its a shame it ended on a cliffhanger for it to be settled in an OVA but they executed it well enough that I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Speaking of that the last episode luckily rekindled the original appeal of the series so in my opinion it overall ended up being a great experience.
9/10 Had some of the best comedy I've seen. I would definitely recommend to those who are sick of harem anime like I am. (It's still a harem anime though just not a typical one.)

Ascendance of a Bookworm was exactly the type of series I needed.
The story of a girl being transported to another world and chasing her dream of reading a book is simple and perfect. Seeing Mein desperately try to get closer to her dream only for another obstacle to get in her way was really interesting. No matter what she never gave up and even though the series is slow it's totally worth the watch when she finally starts making progress. I love that this anime is something fresh and new, giving us a slow story of a Slice of Life Isekai. The Isekai genre has
...
been done to death so its great to see anime like Ascendance of a Bookworm take the Slice of Life female main protaganist approach like Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne! which also aired this anime season.
Mein is one of my favourite characters of this anime season. She's cute and her absolute determination to read/make a book in this world where they're only possessed by nobility really makes me want to support and see her achieve that goal. Mein is basically a cuter version of Miku Kohinata from Senki Zesshou Symphogear which is also voiced by Iguchi Yuka.
Speaking of Iguchi Yuka, she was such a perfect choice to play Mein as she perfectly plays the type of character that is super cute and scary as hell when they're angry. Getting an entire series with Iguchi Yuka as the main character was the main appeal of Honzuki for me and is the reason I started watching it and I'm so glad I did.
One main focus of Honzuki is Mein's family and god is it wholesome. Throughout the series, we learn more about the family and see Mein grow closer to them and its so cute to see her interacting with them. The father Guntha is hilarious. He's an overprotective father that easily gets jealous when others take his girl's attention away. His overprotectiveness is also another way it shows the family bond and strengths it. The mother is the typical concerned mother who worries for her daughters and overall the family feels absolutely real which makes it all the more heartwarming to see them enjoying themselves together. Particularly towards the end, the family bond is tested.
One of my favourite parts of this series is its world. It's a fantasy world where books are rare forcing our main Heroine to find other ways of acquiring one. But there are other elements that get sprinkled in overtime to make the world more unique like a plant that could take out a city if not cut immediately and the presence of mana and magic used for contracts in business. The houses also have very interesting designs being similar to skyscrapers but made out of wood. All of this helped immerse me in its world.
Lutz, one of the main characters, is a really good member of the cast. He helps Mein with the things she makes and is always there to help her out when something goes wrong. At first, I was worried that this series would be adding romance but it always keeps a safe distance but by the end of it, I was an avid believer in Lutz X Mein.
The art is nice especially with some of the effects later on in the series. The series introduces an interesting element sometime during the midpoint of the season which I won't spoil but it gives us so many good scenes with Mein and the rest.#
Overall absolutely loved this wholesome adventure from start to finish. Getting a full series with Iguchi Yuka as the lead was great and the story ended up keeping me excited every week. This anime season has given us a lot of new settings and ideas that keep giving us these unique anime and Honzuki is definitely one of them. It's definitely a slow series but if you're like me and just enjoying watching characters slowly build up to something and like the Slice of Life in between, I'm sure you'll love Ascendance of a Bookworm.
I can't wait for season 2 which has already been announced and see Mein back in full swing.
9/10 Would definitely recommend it.

Right off the bat Ive just got to say, this is an amazing series.
This anime was honestly such a breath of fresh air with it being an isekai with a female main protaganist. We dont have nearly enough of those so this series was such a treat to watch. In the same vein Slice of life anime in my opinion have sort of reached a wall of originality or at least Im sort of tired of them so getting a slice of life anime about adventurer girls doing their day to day life is the perfect combination. It took my love for Isekai anime, and
...
my love for Slice of Life anime, and combined them making this beautiful creation.
The cast is absolutely lovable and all have a quirk of some sort to give them character. Mile doesnt know about the absurdness of her powers leading to some hilarious reactions when she unleashes it, Pauline is the classic cunnning merchant and the girl you really dont want to anger as when you do you know you're screwed. Reina is the typical tsundere but she can still have her moments, and finally the wannabe knight girl Mavis. Not much to say on her she's bascially the straight man always getting left behind in which she can bring more comedy to the table. My personal favourites were Mile and Pauline which I liked equally as much as the other and couldnt decide on an absolute favourite.
Comedy in this series is great. I was constantly smiling throughout the runtime of the anime and every time Mile walked up to start fighting I couldnt wait to see what she'd do and most importantly the reactions of those around her. Luckily her party dont get used to the absurdness for a while so we get some absolutely classic reactions lol. There is some really funny reoccuring jokes throughout the series such as Mile hiding the fact that she's a reincarnet by saying "Its a family secret." everytime. The comedy in this series is just as wholesome as the series itself which made me smile throughout it all so its definitely a good comedy watch.
I cant do a review of this series without talking about its OP. The OP is SOOO CATCHY!!! One thing I love about this OP and OPs of this anime season is they have some sort of quirk that makes it stand out from the rest. With this anime's OP its got this really funny "Waho Waho" that I cant stop dancing to whenever it comes on and imitating the move XD. The OP is sung by the cast which is cute and pretty standard for these types of anime but nonetheless is very enjoyable to watch and listen to. There is this one section where they have some really weird power ranger dance and I cant stop laughing everytime I see Pauline's dance.
The art is cute and moeblob so all the girls look cute and the series immedietly gives off that wholesome slice of life vibe. Because of its wholesome content, lovable characters and really funny comedy this anime is one of the most re-watchable series Ive seen and Im happy to have more re-watchable anime for my collection.
Overall absolutely loved this series. Its one of my new favourite slice of life anime and since its a fantasy Isekai with a female lead its even more re-watchable.
9/10 Highly recommend to any Isekai, Comedy or Slice of Life fans wanting some cute girls doing cute things in another world.
