believe me, the first couple episodes are a tad annoying,
but like the plot thickens with each season,
the latest season left off on a cliffhanger and like AHHHHH

it really is good, just get thru the first four episodes.

i feel like those are the two you are expected to watch this season lol

I do recommend Ascendance of a Bookworm
if you haven't seen that already.
It is surprisingly pretty good.
Third season came out last season and ended on a sorta cliff hanger bruh...

The new MAL review system rewards bad writing by presenting multiple forms of interaction, such as dislikes, "Confusion face" and most criminal of all "funny" .
Reviews, whilst opinion based at its core, should not be rewarded or used on the front page while being poorly written. also Emoji's don't make the site more "modern" and people don't use this website for a more modern layout. if anything the reviews should go back to the old way in which they were presented via "helpful" and "not helpful" if you want to establish a more modern design philosophy, like/dislike buttons aren't inherently terrible.

As someone who wrote funny reviews back when I first joined the site (and still do to an extent) I'm embarrassed that my most popular works are the ones that took 0 effort, nor passion. jokes are fun, but aren't informative. separate the two. most people including myself fail at making them coexist in a review..

those are my ramblings on the new system, it discourages me to write reviews because they'll get easily trampled by objectively terrible ones.
