I see you already got plenty of recommendations, but I want to put my two cents in. If you like spectacular mecha fights I can recommend 86. Its story, messages and characters are a hit-or-miss (I didn't really like them), but the visuals and the music are worth it.

Also, Nausicaä and Monster are really must watches. I enjoyed every minute of them. Nausicaä is especially close to my heart because it was one of my first animes and my first favorite. I also read the manga. (I haven't seen/read the remaining three. Started reading Akira but got tired of it.)

Oh, I have new terato-recommendations for you HAHAHA: Tower of God and Dorohedoro for sure (anime or manwha/manga). Terra Formars for manga (because anime adaptation is no good). Then, maybe D.Grayman, No Guns Life and Gleipnir.
