Shows like these usually goes for the non linear story structure approach, where it doesn't tell you the premise fully but mostly tells you visually and metaphorically. It also doesn't signified plot point like introduction and exaggeration in emotion and personality but in a perfect timing when it comes to character development, giving more of a humanistic authenticity. Lain is pretty similar in artistic narrative point and there is a sci fi element but lain is more philosophically symbolistic

same goes for ergo proxy

well look at other popular anime like Attack on Titan, One Punch Man, etc that made us wait for years for the sequel but ye if they can do it like My Hero Academia yearly sequel that will be great

cool i might read the manga later too if im impatient waiting for the second season of the anime

yw! I totally understand you, but If i remember correctly there isn't a lot of CG. probably only a little on the fight scenes :)

yeah it was, I thought it was amazing. the characters, the story , the soundtrack and everything was mind blowing tbh. You should give it another chance but I understand if it's not for you :)
