The beginning was really weird. But it got really good later on and the end was great!
It definitely deserves this award.

Thanks. I feel more enthusiastic about picking it up now.

'Trapeze' is just subtitle for the first novel. Thus, Sky Swing is a correct term.

I'm so excited about this news. I LOVED trapeze. It was definitely the best I've watched in 2009. Definitely deserve this.

Flying Trapeze
Shouldn't this just be Trapeze, since Kuuchuu Buranko literally means Sky Swing; A trapeze is a swing that seemingly flies through the sky. My guess is that the producers of the show gave the festival this translation but it just struck me as odd.
[nitpicking]

'Trapeze' is a fairly general term.

Makes sense, I suppose. Still doesn't change the fact that the Japanese title is composed of two nouns and doesn't indicate which type of trapeze or trapeze act they're referring to. Anyway...

Glad to see Trapeze win an award. Thought it would be pushed to the side, but definitely one of the better shows of last year.

I wouldn't make a fuss about it...since the whole thing seems to be promoted by Rai, but the show did seem promising to me.
Anyway, was browsing the english page but didn't find the motivation of the award that was instead put on the italian one:

"Rappresentazione unica nel suo genere del complesso mondo interiore degli adolescenti"

ENG: Unique representation of the complex inner world of adolescents

*scratches head* Is it really so? I still haven't watched it, but the plot didn't seem like that to me...probably I'm wrong...

On the surface, it doesn't seem like it would be that great, doesn't it? But honsetly, it's so much more than what it looks like. Especially the ending.~ If you don't mind the weirdness, you should definitely watch it.
