Three New Negima OVAs Announced

Three new OVAs for the anime series Mahou Sensei Negima based on the manga Negima! Magister Negi Magi by Ken Akamatsu will be released. The three OVAs will ship along with the manga volumes 23-25, with one OVA each. The first OVA, which is released with volume 23 on July 17th, will cover the 176th and 177th chapters of the manga. The second, which is released with volume 24 on Ocotber 17th, will cover chapter #'s 178 to 180. The third OVA to be released ships with volume 25 on January 27th, 2009, and covers chapters 182 to 183. The three OVAs are being animated by SHAFT, who animated the second series of the anime.

I watched Negima?! for 10 minutes before I dropped it.

Anyways.
I'll watch, though. But I'll be annoyed is they do skip the Mahora Festival.

Haha well if you don't want to read about a 10 year old kid in ecchi situations, you might not like the manga anyway. I find the manga to be wayyyy better than the anime, though; lots more enjoyable.

I meant for them to remake it so that it does the manga justice. Both anime series don't even come close to manga in terms of entertainment.

I know. That's why it sucked. I enjoyed Mahou Sensei Negima, until the last 2-3 eps (stupid last arc) and was hoping Negima?! would be a continuation of more of the good stuff, but instead is an alternative version, which I hate on general principle, not to mention they changed some stuff like the heterochromia that I liked in the first one. Whether it's manga canon or not I don't care, but I liked the first series and the second was terrible.

Negima!? is not the sequel its adaptation from the manga called Negima Neo!
(i did the same mistake, i thought it was a different version)
And i agree with the ending, they rushed to finish it, like the Claymore anime!

Basicaly we agree that the first one was better than the second one :P
P.S. chapter 207 and 208 of Mahou Sensei Negima manga is out!!! It better than the anime!

Hm..... Interesting. I guess I will have to fnish Negima! before looking more into this. So from these posts, peope say that Negima!? is bad? I guess I will have to watch it and decide that for myself.

With Mahora releasing Negima!? 21 my hope has been renewed and I welcome these OVAs.

And seeing as I critique animation over everything else, I can't even start Mahou Sensei Negima. Their hair and bodies just look like crap.

Which is why I love Negima!?. While it doesn't follow the manga's storyline, it has decent animation (Setsuna's armor pactio was awesome shit) and overall good humor. People need to stop bitching about it geez.

why not just make a season two of the first one? The first series pretty much followed the manga for the most part. They could easily make a second season that follows the manga.

Alas, yet it will probably never happen...

I still got to finish negima!? I was thinking about picking up the complete boxset at Best Buy. Although I was disappointed that there wasn't any ecchi.

I´d prefer they just start again from chapter one and go through the whole manga again, I liked the Negima!?-graphic; is there even a need to say that it looked way better than the first series? lol

Well even an OVA is nice for now, I´ll make sure to watch it^^
