Video game publisher Game Magazine announced on Wednesday that Harumurasaki's Arne no Jikenbo (The Case Book of Arne) video game is receiving a television anime adaptation, revealing an illustration by the game's character designer Harutarou (pictured).

Harumurasaki and Harutarou will be part of the anime's staff as series composer and character designer, respectively.

The mystery vampire game was created on the RPG Maker program and released on the Vaka Game Magazine website free of charge in November 2017. Arne no Jikenbo was released on Steam in October 2020 in Japanese, Chinese, and English.

A manga adaptation by Soraho Ina began on the Comic Gene magazine in November 2018. The fourth and final volume went on sale in March 2022.

Game Description
Arne Neuntöte is a vampire detective who manipulates supernatural powers. Lynn Reinweiß is a nobleman's daughter who loves vampires. Their worlds should never have crossed, but they join hands to solve a bloody mystery. In the darkest of nights, Lynn finds herself in desperate need of help. Then she wanders into the mysterious city of "Lügenberg," where non-humans live.

Lynn's world changes drastically when she encounters "Arne," a vampire who is called "the worst" in the city. And tonight, a new "murder case" has occurred. What is the truth behind the bizarre incidents that take place in a world where humanity and the bizarre intersect?

"Come on, human. You may dance merrily under the crimson moon." (Source: Steam, edited)

Who played this game? How good is it? I'm wondering if this got an adaptation because of the popularity of detective stories among the Japanese and the subjective ease of adapting them, or if it's a really good and popular game.

Not gonna lie from the synopsis alone this feels a little bit retarded but I guess I shouldn't judge just yet.
