'Miru: Watashi no Mirai' Premieres in Spring 2025
The official website of the Miru: Watashi no Mirai (Miru: Paths to My Future) anime revealed a key visual (pictured above) and partial staff on Thursday. The original anime from Yanmar Holdings Co. Ltd. (Yanmar) will premiere in five episodes in Spring 2025, between March and May.
Masuo Ueda (Ao no Exorcist, Working'!!) will serve as the executive producer for the anime. Ueda launched his career with Nippon Sunrise (now Bandai Namco Filmworks) in 1979, debuting with Kidou Senshi Gundam III: Meguriai Sora-hen (Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space). He produced hits such as Ginga Hyouryuu Vifam (Galactic Drifter Vifam), City Hunter, and Turn A Gundam (∀ Gundam).
Ueda left Sunrise in 2000 to freelance, working on InuYasha. He helped establish Aniplex, served as president of A-1 Pictures and Aniplex, and is now CEO of Skyfall Co., Ltd.—which is credited for production support for Miru. Design and marketing company btrax Japan is credited for the planning cooperation.
Synopsis
In the distant future, humans create a robot named MIRU capable of traveling through time, visiting various eras, places, and even parallel worlds. Unlike some robots, MIRU isn't equipped with weapons. Instead, it helps people overcome immense obstacles peacefully, encouraging new beginnings without violence.
MIRU continuously evolves by interacting with people, learning and growing to assist those struggling to survive. It listens to their problems and offers support. By helping others, MIRU sets off a "Butterfly Effect," of dramatic change guiding society toward a brighter future.
Why was MIRU created? What is its purpose? Can it save the Earth and humanity from a dystopian future?
