'Onmyouji' Announces Main Cast, Fall 2023 Premiere

The official Twitter of Netlflix Japan announced on Friday, the main cast for the original net anime adaptation of Baku Yumemakura's Onmyouji novel series. The anime is scheduled for a worldwide premiere on November 28, exclusively on Netflix.

Tsuyuko: Yui Ishikawa (Violet Evergarden)
Atsumi Shinnou: Kenji Hamada (The God of High School)
Yasunori Kamo: Daisuke Kishio (Fairy Tail)
Douman Ashiya: Rina Satou (Toaru Majutsu no Index)

Soubi Yamamoto (Meganebu!) is directing the anime at Marvy Jack. Natsu Hashimoto (Oshiete Hokusai! The Animation) and Yuiko Katou (Aguu: Tensai Ningyou) are penning the script.

Yumemakura originally began writing the historical fantasy novel as a series of short stories in the September 1986 issue of All Yomimono magazine. Bungeishunjuu published the stories in tankobon and bunkoban format in August 1998 and February 1991, respectively. Yumemakura also penned novel-length stories, which were released by Asahi Shimbun in tankobon in March 2000 and Bungeishunjuu in bunkoban in July 2003. The latter also shipped a two-part novel in September 2005.

Comic Burger began serializing a manga adaptation by Reiko Okano in May 1993 before it switched to Comic Birz in May 1996. The serialization transferred to Monthly Melody in June 1999 where it ended in May 2005. Schola originally released eight volumes from July 1994 to December 1998. Hakusensha republished the manga in 13 volumes between July 1999 and September 2005.

Okano drew the Onmyouji: Tamatebako sequel manga in Monthly Melody from December 2010 to April 2017. Hakusensha published the seventh and final volume in July 2017.

Not sure why you wrote the character names this way, pretty much everybody agrees that historical names shouldn't be inverted, including MAL's previous news article: https://myanimelist.net/news/67553252

It's funny, but if earlier "samurai" anime focused mainly on guys, now girls seem to be the main target audience.
