'Mahoutsukai no Yome Season 2' Second Part Premieres in Fall 2023
The 12th and final episode of the Mahoutsukai no Yome Season 2 (The Ancient Magus' Bride Season 2) television anime announced on Thursday a second part, revealing a teaser promo. The second part is set to air on October 5 at 10:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by BS11, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto.Produced by Wit Studio, the 24-episode first anime season aired in Fall 2017. The second anime season, by Studio Kafka, aired in 12 episodes in Spring 2023. Crunchyroll simulcast both seasons worldwide.
The anime series adapts Kore Yamazaki's fantasy manga, which began serializing in Monthly Comic Blade in November 2013 before switching it to Monthly Comic Garden due to the former ceasing serialization. Mag Garden simultaneously serializes the manga on its MAGCOMI website and published the 19th volume on March 10. Mahoutsukai no Yome has a cumulative 10 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in October 2014 and published the 17th volume on March 7. The 18th volume is set for a July 4 release. The manga is also published in multiple foreign languages, including Polish, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Finnish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Synopsis
Apprentice mage Chise Hatori is invited to enroll at the College, a prestigious learning institution for sorcerers, to examine and look for a way to remove the curses she bears. Despite her groom Elias Ainsworth's reluctance, Chise accepts the proposal, as she believes attending the school might help her minimize her self-sacrificing tendencies.
From the get-go, Chise grabs the attention of her classmates and professors alike, who have never seen a mage in action before. However, there is a sinister plot brewing behind the College's back, and the young mage will have to determine who is friend or foe in order to put a stop to it. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
