'Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen' TV Anime Debuts in Fall 2022

The Jump Super Studio EX stage for Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen (Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War arc)—the anime adaptation of the final arc in Tite Kubo's supernatural adventure manga—unveiled a teaser visual (pictured) and teaser promo on Saturday. Aniplex simultaneously opened an official website, revealing new staff and cast. The anime series will begin airing on TV Tokyo in October 2022.

Binbin Takaoka (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu) will voice Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryuusai, replacing the late Masaaki Tsukada.

Prior to serialization, Kubo published a pilot chapter in December 2000. Weekly Shounen Jump debuted the manga the following August. After a 15-year run, Kubo ended the manga in August 2016. Shueisha published the 74th and final volume in November that year. Bleach has a cumulative 120 million copies of its compiled volumes in print worldwide.

Studio Pierrot adapted the manga into a television anime that began airing in Fall 2004 and ended with 366 episodes in Winter 2012, covering the first 54 volumes. The manga also received two Jump Festa specials in June 2005 and March 2006, and four anime films in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010 December.

VIZ Media acquired the series' master license in March 2006 and published the manga in English in its print edition of Shounen Jump magazine from November 2007 to March 2012. The manga simultaneously switched to the Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha digital anthology in January 2012. The company released the 74th and final volume in October 2018 and the 26th home video installment of the anime in September 2015.

I really hope they skip all the boring and meaningless filler fights from the manga that went on for ages and ages cause Kubo couldn't figure out what to write.

I finally read the manga. Very dope and badass. Despite there being many flaws in terms of the story, I got into every chapter. Can't wait for this new anime.

I'm not sure they are going to change the ending, but I heard that Kubo-san is working along with the anime staff to provide additional content to flesh out the characters in the Thousand Year Blood War Arc. Bleach's final arc was supposed to longer than what we actually got, but since Kubo's health was getting worse he had to rush the ending to complete manga.

I am so relieved that Studio Pierrot is continuing the adaptation. I don't know if I would like Bleach with a different production studio.

Tbh it's been so long i already forgot what was the final arc all about except the name of the enemy's group...
But hey, that's good, i guess? I can re-experience it. I ESPECIALLY CAN'T WAIT TO THAT ONE SCENE TO GET ANIMATED ><

It kinda pains me to see that the best of the big 3 got the worst adaptation, and the worst is getting the best adaptation.

yup, only one of the Jump 'big three' i ever cared about is on its way back! :D damn happy about this one!

i missed the stream but saw a YTuber who recorded his livestream of the event... those live reads from TYBW arc manga panels by Morita, Orikasa, and Sugiyama was EXCELLENT!

i wish Kubo sensei could have been there in person instead of just sending a short letter to be read during the stream... :(

i'm going to get on Viz's YT channel and watch that trailer a few more times! :D let's peg the views on YT and shoot Bleach back to the top folks!
