The official website for the anisong unit MimimemeMIMI has announced on Tuesday that they will disband, as well as the vocalist and seiyuu Yuki Takao will end her career after their live event on September 9 titled MimimemeMIMI Live 2017 ~Bon! Voyage!~. Her reason for ending her career is "I want to challenge myself as a woman to deliver various emotions in a different way."

Consisting of vocalist Yuki Takao and illustrator Chamo-i, MimimemeMIMI debuted in August 2013. Takao used the name "Yuka" when she produced songs for the unit. The unit performed songs for many anime series such as Kimi no Iru Machi, Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (TV), Amaama to Inazuma, Akiba's Trip The Animation, and more.

Takao has been a seiyuu since 2013, debuting with Kimi no Iru Machi as Nanami Kanzaki. She also voiced Maria Sarushima in Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo series, Alka in Blade & Soul series, among other characters. She is also a vocalist and composer for the recently formed unit POLKA DOTS with fellow seiyuu Himika Akaneya. It has not been announced whether POLKA DOTS will disband as well following Takao's end of career. POLKA DOTS has performed the inserted song for the Trinity Seven movie and the theme song for Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry movie.

Does that mean she wants to start a different solo career?
It sounds sexist but Japanese culture still sees things differently. This kind of verbiage often means marriage and motherhood.

Good question....almost every time I see this "Excuse" they just disappear into the sunset, though. Like the singer Azusa. She wanted to pursue something different and she basically disappeared since then. We'll probably never hear much about Ray ever again. Mami Kawada at least is still writing songs for other people....though I guess she doesn't count anyway since she didn't say much about doing something different, like the other two I listed.
