Live Action Movie of BECK Announced

Sakuishi Harold's manga "Beck" was announced to get a live action movie adaptation. Tsutsumi Yukihiko (live action movie of "20th Century Boys") directs the movie. It will be premiered in the autumn of 2010.

The main character of the movie is Ryuusuke, not Koyuki (Tanaka Yukio), who was the main of manga.

I haven't watched/downloaded it yet... might just wait till I can get my hands on the actual DVD and apply the srt myself, since I already got the other beck dvds.

I'm actually incredibly disappointed in the film. I loved the acting... but Sato Takeru didn't sing a single lyric. (Not really a spoiler... actually even if it is, I feel that it's vital that people know so that they can not be disappointed as I was. The movie is incredibly long and I kept saying to myself "maybe now he will sing", but he never does).

The rest of the actors were, AMAZING. Even the Anglo actors (like Eddie and the lead singer of his band). I was very impressed with their dedication to coming off as authentic musicians.

The story itself was good, very abridged though, but nonetheless fun to watch. Just don't go in expecting to hear much ACTUAL music. Its mostly about the story.

It sounds like it'll be interesting. I just don't know how good it'll be from Ryu's point of view. I did like him a little more than Koyuki but eh... We'll just have to see. ;D

DVD & BD is out February 2nd, according to Beck's official twitter and it probably says so on their official page, too. Hopefully some awesome soul will sub it for us, if it isn't already.

i think exactly the opposite, i don't know why, but when i saw the trailer i get really happy, i think this movie will be great.

man, im so fcking sure that this live action film will end up like the anime adaptation.
cuz in the manga (dont worry no spoilers :D)
its just IMPOSSIBLE to make it live action nor in the Anime adaption.
cuz yknow the part in the last episode, those pictures they showed.
after that hell NO, there is no way they can animate or should i say theres no way they could find/afford an Actor whos good in English and Japanese, and that can sing, and as he grows he's gonna be even better. its really hard to explain here u gotta read the manga =D

There is actually another character revealed for the BECK film!
His name is Brett Pemberton, and he'll be playing Ryūsuke's best friend,
Eddie Lee, guitarist for the band "The Dying Breed!"

Brett is actually an incredibly talented musician, who got hired for the
role mainly based on his talent, apparently. If you'd like to check out his website
and music, he just put out a new song out on iTunes, featuring the
guitar player of Queensryche, Parker Lundgren. It's an incredible rock song!

on iTunes. Super good.

I don't like the fact the movie is about Ryusuke. Don't get me wrong, I really like him, but I like Koyuki's storyline more. Now the movie is all about that maffia thing which I didn't really liked in Beck.
