Digital Manga Licenses Hideyuki Kikuchi's Yashakiden Novels and Taimashin Manga Series.
On April 2, 2009, Digital Manga Publishing announced the licensing of two series by Hideyuki Kikuchi, horror novelist and best-known for the novel series Vampire Hunter D. They are: Yashakiden: The Demon Princess and Taimashin: The Red Spider Exorcist.
Yashakiden is a 4-volume novel series illustrated by Jun Suemi, who also illustrated several of The Guin Saga novels in Japan. It takes place in the same universe as the Wicked City anime series. Kikuchi considers this "...the best novel series I've ever written, this is my vampire masterpiece. In my personal opinion, this novel transcends Vampire Hunter D." Volume 1 will be published in December 2009.
Taimashin: The Red Spider Exorcist is an adult horror manga based on a novel series by Hideyuki Kikuchi and drawn by manwha artist Shin Yong-Gwan. The series is currently ongoing in Japan. Volume 1 of this series will also be published in December.
