Will this affect the American publication of the chapters that have been released to the public in Japan so far at all?

My guess is she is suffering from a terrible case of writer's block. Lets hope it goes into remission soon so they can take d.gray man off life support.

Shuueisha is always reluctant to give the detailed information of the reasons of Hoshino-sensei's long breaks. That's why fans are making groundless suspicions.
The reason of the first break was "a sudden illness", and the second one was "an injury (sprain?) in the neck". This time it was described like "Hoshino-sensei got sick and it's difficult to continue the publication."

thanks for telling me, i though that the anime was late due to some production and animation complexes.. it seems shes sick T_T

After the anime stopped, I was hoping to at least have the manga to be able to continue to follow Allen and the rest's adventures...
