I have always found the reactions to this kind of series to be very interesting and informative. When a series with this exact kind of setting is targeted toward males (as people in the Western fandom vulgarly call it, when a "harem" game gets adapted into anime) the topic gets full of replies like "This looks generic as hell", "only losers would watch this", "creativity and originality in anime is dead", "another generic harem show", etc. yet when the exact same premise is presented with the genders switched the topics discussing these kind of series are showered with compliments and in cases like this one, even with screaming fans celebrating its release, with virtually no backlash at all.

It would be very revealing if we created another topic with the very same plot description as this one, changing only the sex of the characters and the topic title (change "otome game" to "bishoujo game" or "harem game") and see if the topic still gets showered with the same compliments and enthusiasm...

Did you see the list of anime this winter? 90% of them harem or all-female cast. Of course, people (especially the girls) will be happy to have this since there are only 4 series which is are targeted towards women

That's a good point, but the difference may lie in that there are 10 times as many harem shows as there are reverse harem shows. Reverse harems are still a pretty new thing, and so can be taken as a refreshing contrast to all of the harem antics we girls have to see in many other shows whether or not they broadcast it as a harem or just throw in a couple of girls fawning over the MC because he is the MC.

I'm sure that as more of these get done they will start to get a bad rep. Especially if they keep being down badly which has been the case so far.

The preview for the anime came out:

It seems to be leaning slightly towards Ikki, but there is no way to tell until the actual anime comes out. I hope it's Shin, or at least not Toma

Added to my PTW a week or so ago... Well atleast it's not by Deen... Better not turn out like Arcana Famiglia... That series had way too much wasted potential...

Adding it to PTW. Synopsis looks really interesting and cover art as well. The otome game throws me off though...CoughArcanaFamigliaCough....
