OVA of Rurouni Kenshin Announced

According to Comic Natalie, the new anime of Rurouni Kenshin is a two-episode OVA. The first episode will be shown at theaters in December. The title is "Shin Kyoto Hen (New Kyoto Chapter)" and it'll be a large-scale remake of the battle against Shishio from Misao's point of view.

Okay, I have more to say about this shit. Okay so sense like 1999 when the Trust and Betrayal OVA came out, everyone was likely to be expecting all of Jinchuu arc at some point. And everyone probably forgave Studio Deen for getting the T.V anime cancelled (maybe). But then they go and do this. Studio Deen are perfectly freaking capable of making something awesome. I would rather see them make this into I dunno FUCKING HORROR or some shit that a remake, that manages to look worse than the animation in the original anime. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EVEN DO THAT?! How do you manage to make a show that looks worse than one from over 10 years ago? HOW! Arggh.....Studio Deen a company of murderous loli and fucking up.
I wonder what Watsuki thinks about this, If I were him. I'd be pissed.

At least make some OVA's & then a final movie about the last story from the manga.. That would have been epic to see the final fight in movie lenght..

I don't care about seing the OVA/movie from another point of view.. I already know whats gonna happen anyway..

Sigh - Maybe we can only hope & wish for something like that to happen in the future..

I was hoping for a full remake :( Turns out it's only 2 episodes and ofrom Misao's POV. :(

same here. i grow basically watching Kenshin, so anything in the franchise is a must see for me., and i really don't care about the changes especially the character designs, mature look than shoujo-ish is much more preferable.

Saito looks worse as well in the new OVA. And I don't remember Misao having such vivid green eyes.

Yeah, it's really nice to know that aside from Saito's late seiyuu (I believe Ken Narita will do his job just fine) all other original seiyuus remained, especially because I watched Rurouni Kenshin series + Seisouhen, and Tsuiokuhent OVAs, as well as Ishinshishi e no Requiem movie this year, including manga + 2 manga one shots this year.

Altough, it's noticeable that Kenshin, and also Misao (if that is her voice in trailer) sound kinda older, which is no surprise due to their seiyuus being older.
Shishio also sounds a bit older too.

But to be honest, I think I like Kenshin's voice sounding more older and kinda darker, it actually suits him.

And once more, if I already said it - I really, really hope this is only warming up for animating last arc of manga, tough if they would decided to animate whole manga from the start without fillers - like FMA: Brotherhood and Dragon Ball Kai that would be something to look forward.

If it was only last manga arc, maybe few OVAs, or movies would be better, if for anything, than at least because of better animation and less worrying about censoring.

I'm most glad when they retain Kenshin's voice. It would be so weird listening to a different voice of Kenshin when I've already have Suzukaze's voice as Kenshin stuck in my head.

And the soundtracks! Epic! So glad they retain them. I'm looking forward to a huge & awesome comeback of Rurouni Kenshin next December ;)

Yeah... The more times I watch this, the less I'm liking it. Really hope they were just rushed for the PV release or something.

And I swear Saitou doesn't look half as BAMF as he did before; and Kenshin, oh, Kenshin. (Oh but his voice is still love. I know I've said I wished we had a male VA this time, but I'm so glad they kept Suzukaze. That voice makes me happy.) Soujiro is the only one who gives off the same vibe - in this PV at least.

Ah well, we'll find out soon.

I think the probability will depend on how people react to this OVA.
If it makes enough success, they may reach the conclusion that Rurouni Kenshin still has enough fans to be worth reanimating the whole series.
Though I think it would've been a smarter move to have reanimated already, instead of doing this OVA.
