Actually, it is 24 episodes + 2 recap episodes (which are officially not counted and have a separate database entry here on MAL)

cant wait to watch the season 2..

for those who said this anime is boring, try to make your own anime series ok?, its hard to make an anime you know, just appreciate what they have done to entertain us.

The audience has the right to criticize: the product is targetted to them, they have expectations and they have seen enough Anime to decide what they think is good and what not.
Furthermore, if the audience is not critical, the production quality will be lower then it should be as there is no reason to spend more money and effort into it if they will all accept anything like blind sheep.

Not planning to watch this as I found Nurarihyon's first season (first 10 episodes) really boring. I heard way too many bad things about it to finish it...

This is good for the fans, though.

Let me tell, the ones following the manga will tell you, as will I, that this is one of those series which gets better as time passes. So season 2 will definitely be better. You could give it a try, if you like.
I'm really looking forward to the animation of the story as it continues, its really interesting, the gitsune (kitsune..?) arc onwards.

As for K-ON comments, I don't like that anime either but thats just my taste. Every person has its own taste and taste is not to be discussed. Making fun of STM only because he likes K-ON and doesn't like NnM is kinda immature.

You're a nice guy.

The fact that you're saying the anime is **** without having watching the second season is all I need. First of all, the first season is completely different to the second one, I don't feel like explaining to you what character development is since is probably 2deep for you. I can understand the fact that you didn't like the first one,(hell, I couldn't care less), but you coming here and talking like if you know what's gonna happen in the second one is another thing, you don't read the manga and that's why you shouldn't really criticize a season you haven't even watch.
But I do find funny how you said that this anime sucks when you enjoy things like K-0N! that's all.

You don't need to explain what character development is, I know oh so very well what it is. I enjoy different kinds of anime. My favorite genres are the psychological thrillers and the slice-of-life comedies. Is it that much of a sin to enjoy some of the mindless entertainment this anime industry has to offer?
Well, I suppose you ought to know about mindless entertainment, seeing as you seem to enjoy shounen anime quite a lot.
Oh my, did I just make an attack on your personal preferences? How very unelegant of me.
Back to Nurarihyon. I never said I knew what's going to happen in the second season. And now you even admit that you understand the fact that I didn't like the first season. So what exactly is the problem here? It seems we have quite the misunderstanding here.
I've never criticized the second season. I just said it's unfair that the first season of Nurarihyon, which I didn't enjoy at all, has a sequel in productionl and all kinds of other great shows get left in the dark.

Please you 2, can't you just BOTH STFU, grow up and become decent Otaku? Honestly, why the #&¤)%& can't you understand that it doen't matter if you like or don't like the series? You keep filling the chatroom with annoying comments (and YES, so am I right now, out of fustration because of your EXTREMELY childish behaviour), and it is REALLY disturbing. If you want to continue your pointless arguement, please, for everyones sake, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! Thank you and have a nice day.

I had had big expectations for this show, but after few episodes I found myself forced to end it.Well, I can understand why people wait for sequel, because Kyoto Arcis undoubtedly better. There's more action, less stupid school kids and new characters that might make it interesting.
I read manga and I cannot say it's awesome. Actually, although I love shounen with demons or superpowers, I force myself to read chapters. There are worse manga, but IMO NnM is just paraphrasing other series, there is nothing new. What you can like in it are characters, and of course only few of them aren't annoying.

Anyway, wasn't too happy about continuation, but on second thought I think that I can watch second season with pleasure as long as Deen doesn't screw it up. Oh, I have to mention: as for me, it's mostly their fault NnM was boring. I require for anime adaptations to be at least as good as manga. And here I see Nurarihyon no Mago as a fail.
Good points: seiyuu, OST didn't sound bad either, characters (in a nutshell: Rikuo's Hyakki Yakou + Yura). But I still can't hide my disappointment.

Might check it out since so many people are praising it ...

Somewhat backwards but I refuse to read a manga before I watch the anime. Where as with English books and movie adaptations i refuse to watch the movie unless I've already read the book.

I think it's because of the translations. I like to watch the animes subtitled because I 'believe' the original voice actors have a better feel for the real story. I can't read manga's in the native kanji so I go to the next most direct source. If the subbers take a few liberties or mistranslate i've listened to enough at this point to catch the occasional nuance they've overlooked.

I think that's why it's a rare dub that is any good at all. The dubbers are almost inevitably speaking English as a second language or know very little (and care less) about the original production. I've heard several fan dubs that are better than their official counterparts which is just sad and pathetic...

Anyway; I don't mind a slow paced story. I read 2-3 500-1000 page books every single week for the pure enjoyment of it all.

Remember the good bits of animation and forget the fillers and useless bits. Which is why I can enjoy naruto, bleach, one piece, fairytale and dragonball... Because I can block out all their fillers (or just skip them entirely... *cough*naruto*cough* Better to just focus on the characters and plot progression.

The first season has shining moments which I will Remember. Rikuo beating his first demon in the forest while in his human form; the first time we saw his demon form drinking saki beneath the sakura tree... The glint from non-existent light sources off the edge of his blade and the first time the minors are introduced to the demon's bar. The willow wisps as he walks through the fog and that catchy snatch of haunting melody. It has excellent background themes when they bother to use them.

I'm looking forward to the second season not because of it's failures... Rather because of it's strengths. So many myth's and legends dredged up from their murky past and exposed to the rest of the world. The histories and personalities of demon's here-to-fore we often see getting destroyed but rarely get to meet...

I enjoy this on the same level as 'book of friends' 'keikan' and that older one with the gun wielding monk and his three demon friends ripping around in their beat up jeep... I think the second season was titled Revolver something... Although not quite as much as enjoyed XXX Alcholic... As it is an exception of sorts as i'm addicted to the thing despite the fact it's a spin off from a series I never actually had the chance to finish...

Regardless i'll bide my time and continue to add to my collection of watches. Undoubtedly the second season will come out eventually; just as I waited about six years for the third season of black lagoon.(i'm still waiting actually, really slow on the releases...) I'm in no rush.

Happens in every tread that is about anime which adapts a manga.
Personally I think their opinion is valid. The anime IS horrendous.

Demon Sword Arc > Flashback of mom and dad arc > Kyoto Arc > Latest which is Tsurara Arc

Yeah... Hopefully in the second season they take an approach following the manga, as it only gets better from where the first season of anime left off in the manga.
