Synopsis

Amakawa Haruto is a young man who died before reuniting with his childhood friend who disappeared five years ago. Rio is a boy living in the slums who wants revenge for his mother who was murdered in front of him when he was five years old.

Earth and another world. Two people with completely different backgrounds and values. For some reason, the memories and personality of Haruto who should've died is resurrected in Rio's body. As the two are confused over their memories and personalities fusing together, Rio decides to live in this new world.

Along with Haruto's memories, Rio awakens an unknown "special power," and it seems that if he uses it well, he can live a better life. But before that, Rio encounters a kidnapping that turns out to be of a princess of the Bertram Kingdom that he lives in.

After saving the princess, Rio is given a scholarship at the Royal Academy, a school for the rich and powerful. Being a poor orphan in a school of nobles turns out to be an extremely detestable place to be.

I ain't saying its bad and i like harems but this one has a harem lil too big for me
mc is cool and all but almost every male character other than mc is a jerk
it seems like the author wants haruto to be the only good guy for some reason
kinda like sao ig
And all the male heros seem like jerks except rui ig but i still hate him
and the rival for the mc for the battle of heroine ? a fucking idiot with a unstable mind
the story is ok ig buit not too great
mc is op (expected)
and as I said the harem read more

Seirei Gensouki gets off to a great start. The first three volumes are fairly interesting and get the series off to a decent start. Near the end of those volumes, though, everything basically stops. Half of the writing becomes people apologizing to each other just continuously. As of volume 8, it seems like an even greater proportion of the writing is just formalities and apologies.

Any character with an ego is portrayed as a bad guy, which means that no characters that you're meant to care about have any personality to speak of. This is typical for an isekai protagonist, but usually the characters around read more

I live in a relationship of love and hate with this novel, some parts I love it, in others I hate it with all my might.

Story: 6/10

The story is a bit different from the other isekai novels, this time instead of the protagonist reincarnating in another world, he dies and only his consciousness is transferred to the body of a person already alive in this other world, and with that he ends up acquiring for himself , the wishes of that person. The romance and the drama also deserve to be mentioned, this novel narrates it in a very good way for a harem/isekai story.

After waiting over a year for english translations I began reading both the light novel and the web novel, during that time I found that I lean more towards the light novel's progression of Rio throughout the story.

This novel still has lot of problems with it as the main character can be really open and yet be extremely cold at times which don't seem to make sense, to me at least. I have also found the pacing to be too quick sometimes rather than slow, as the progression picks up extremely quickly around volume 4 which I find to be a bit too quick.

Overall however, read more
