Honestly speaking, there isn't really anything particularly special about the storyline. It's just the usual type you see with a conflict going on.(Teru's PHONE being wanted due to her brother's history, not sure if "history" is the right word though, which in turn causes Teru herself to get into trouble and the wonderful male lead will come to her ... rescue and... so on) The reason why I gave it a 7.5/8 is because of the heart-warming feeling that the way the events are being portrayed gives.

I find the art beautiful and I love the special way the author draw the "dark-aura-eyes" of the characters at certain time which add to the humour, a factor I absolutely can't live without. I find Teru's giant eyes pretty creepy though and since the art isn't exactly flawless either, which is why it got an 8.5/9.

The characters is where this manga shines brilliantly. Unlike the usual characters who only have a flat personality(pure evil, pure blindly kind-hearted, pure hard-working, pure trouble-making... all those), Dengeki Daisy's characters have various different "faces" depending on the situation they face. Eg. Teru has the determined-to-persevere personality when facing antagonists while having an innocent(or maybe even dumb) side in her daily life as a poor girl as well as having a witty personality when it comes to issues with Kurosaki.

It is such personality changes going along with the situation that makes the characters realistic to a point.

There is a reason why the "Enjoyment" part got downed so severely(compared to the other ratings) I really did enjoyed the manga at first. I was even okay with Kurosaki being a pervert. I mean, which NORMAL guy isn't a pervert? Right? I was okay with literally everything, even the age gap until... They began mentioning that Kurosaki is a lolicon. *SMALL SPOILER*---The point when Kurosaki steals Teru's panties just went overboard---*SMALL SPOILER END*

I'm sorry if this seems to be biased on my part but I seriously cannot stand lolicons/pedos. I couldn't seem to read the manga properly after that which is why enjoyment got downed.

Overrall, an 8, it's a great shojo romance manga, given that you can tolerate slight loli-ness.

Based on the reviews here, I truly thought I was walking into a one of a kind experience. I don't think we are reading the same manga.
Because in Dengeki Daisy, sure the main characters are slightly compelling. Maybe they have some nuances to them. But realistically, I feel no natural chemistry between the two protags. The story feels like it could have been solved 10 chapters ago. The side characters are forgettable. There is genuinely no reason for this story to drag for 80 CHAPTERS.

There are a few key things in Dengeki Daisy that bother me. I won't pretend that they will bother everyone.
1) The ... Age Gap
2) The Plot
3) The Lack of Tension

The age gap is one of the larger issues I have with this manga. Let's ignore the idea that Japan does not take as much issue with minors and adults (especially in this medium). Because even if you argue this, that doesn't let you disregard common sense. The main female protag (Teru) is 16 years old. The main male protag (Kurosaki) is 24 years old. Kurosaki is in love with Teru. Teru has feelings for Kurosaki. But Teru is a young girl in high school, and Kurosaki is an adult man who smokes, drinks, and works a fulltime job. So naturally, I don't really see myself rooting for them. It is really hard to root for a couple when one cannot suspend their disbelief. Every day, Teru's problems revolve around HIGH SCHOOL. I also just get very bad vibes because of the humor between the two; Teru is Kurosaki's "slave", Kurosaki and one of the side characters have banter about them "doing it" and the side chara calls him a perv. He also calls her flat chested. The characters nearly kissed in a recent scene, and I just couldn't. It is just WEIRD.

Ok ok, so you get past that part. I probably would have been able to get past it if the story was great. I tried to like the plot of this manga. The general concept isn't bad. But it definitely feels like it was written to be resolved in 15 chapters. The characters serve no other purpose than to move the plot along, and then we don't see them again. There is no meaningful interaction between characters other than Kurosaki and Teru. The rest feels like filler and holds no weight. This ties into the tension issue. Every chapter an issue is presented, and almost immediately that tension is resolved. The issue just gets solved by happenstance, and never feels satisfying. There is a huge emphasis on hacking and cracking, and the characters talk about doing it and all the things they are working on, but I don't think we ever see fruitful results and benefits from their "hacking". It just seems very vague and unimpactful. There is also no romantic tension. Maybe it's because I don't enjoy the main pairing, but it's executed so... wrong. I think it has to do with the fact that the two characters are in totally different worlds. The drama that Teru is in at school feels so far disconnected from anything that Kurosaki does or is doing. The author also has a huge issue with adding 'humor' which rarely actually hits, right after important moments. It's fine if done once or twice to keep the read lighthearted, but it is done way too much in Dengeki Daisy.

I genuinely feel as though of all the positive reviews for this manga on here, VERY few people have actually finished it. I know that this manga is much older and might need to be held to different standards. But media is media, and a person is supposed to enjoy it.
You might enjoy it. If you like old high school rom com manga... with random unimpactful drama sprinkled in. It might be for you.

i have been looking for a manga like this for so long! its perfect. I was really skeptical about it at first cause of the name, actually hahaha. "daisy" sounded lame, so i was about to skip over it. im soo glad i gave it a chance though, because this manga is amazing! For one, the female lead in this manga is honestly just a normal girl - ive found a lot of other shoujo girls to be ridiculous; they are too sweet, have no backbone, fall too easily. it weirds me out, and bothers the hell out of me when i read those because ... i cant relate at all. BUT the girl in this manga (Teru), is awesome :) shes sweet when she needs to be but at the same time shes gutsy and isnt afraid to tease the guy she loves ^.^
The male lead, on the other hand, is beautifully drawn and is a really interesting character. Hes tsundere; when she meets him at first hes cold hearted but eventually he warms up to her and reveals vulnerable and caring parts of himself to her.
The storyline is really well done, unlike other shoujos ive read or seen, it actually has another good story going on while still focusing on their relationship. I love the fact that in this manga, it isnt just "love at first sight" and then 2 pages in their already kissing eachother. the relationship progresses slowly, but it makes it all the more meaningful. the author sprinkles in just the right amount of intimacy at the right times. its innocent and cute love, the type that will give you butterflies. i stronglyyyy suggest reading this manga ^.^

Let me start by saying: this is not a terrible manga. I like the protagonist, Teru. A lot of other Shoujo manga protagonists don’t stand out or are boring. She felt a lot more distinct to me. I do think that kurosaki’s hacking abilities are very nonsensical and convenient. Also have a problem with kurosaki and teru’s relationship. She is a 16 year old high school student and he’s a 24 year old janitor. The art is also anatomically ridiculous. If you took away kurosaki and teru’s hair their head would be nearly twice the size it should be. The story, even though it is ... pretty simple, is very entertaining. I was engaged throughout the entire series and cared about most of the characters. If you’re looking for a cheesy romance with some drama, I highly recommend this. If you’re looking for an artistically and creatively beautiful manga, look somewhere else.

Dengeki Daisy is one of the best shoujo manga I've ever read. Okay, I have to admit it, It really is the best one.

The story is really interesting, It's about a orphan girl named Teru, and the only thing left from her family: her phone and the contact to Daisy.
Daisy is really hot when he's smoking, and Teru is the second girl I was able to stomach in shoujo manga (the other one was Haruhi from Ouran Host Club).

The art is really detailed, I love to read it slowly, realising every single detail involved to the story. At some parts, I want to cry badly ... and sometimes It's able to cheer my mood like nothing else. I recommend this manga to everyone, you won't regret this :)

The storyline is fresh, complex, enjoyable, just like real life! I found many shoujo mangas has common storyline, and a bit crazy, too many love scenes. This manga really different. I swear you'll really love it and laugh a lot!

I (and all the fans) really hope it has it own anime!

I should preface this by saying that I know that this is a Shoujo manga & that I am an older female who enjoys shoujo manga as stories (as well as guilty pleasures!)

I think the biggest reason why I couldn't enjoy this manga, although enjoying Motomi's other work QQ Sweeper/Queen's Quality, is because of the age gap. I'm basically the same age as Kurosaki... and if a guy my age told me he was into a high schooler (15 or 16y/o), I would be beyond creeped out.

I don't really have a problem with large age gaps, as long as both people are adults whose ... brains are not still developing (emphasis on adults).

That being said, I get that this is fictional and the target audience is probably a teenage girl that fantasizes about dating/loving an older guy. So for that, I can't knock it. Putting myself back to my teenage self, I think I would've been ALL over a manga like this! But, reading this as a mid-20 y/o, it's really creepy.

Story 6/10

The story is cute, if not a bit nonsensical. Some of the plot points are either vague or don't really make any sense, but it leads up to cute fluffy romance stuff. It's got your typical shoujo plot points (ie. someone getting sick, lots of rain scenes, etc), but the author also seems to know what she's doing and turns some of these tropes upside down and makes fun of them. At times, I couldn't tell if I was reading something that was poking fun at shoujo or if it was just a gag.

But overall, the story is cute & nothing special.

Character 6/10

FL is a spunky girl with a splash of the typical Motomi-humor. I don't really have anything bad to say about her.

ML is a typical tsudnere. Again, if I was a teenager I would be head over heels for this guy lol.

Enjoyment 6/10

The plot isn't as engaging as her other work, and at around volume 8 I couldn't believe she had more plot to go with it.

Overall 6/10

It's an ok manga. If you like Motomi's sense of humor and her other works, it's a great read. But I didn't enjoy it as much.

What if there's one person who can sacrifice everything just for you? That no matter what happens, no matter how bad you can be, no matter how inexcusable you think, no matter how wrong you've done, he will stay by your side. He will understand and accept you. He will protect you and will always be there for you. Who won't fall for someone like that? Who won't be captivated by having a person like that? This story revolves around those people who's been protected and protecting, who's been loved and cared for even ... if they are already strong. I think, this was just a way of showing that no matter how strong you can be, you will still need someone who can pull you up when you go down. You will still need someone who can understand you even if you did something wrong. What makes it really interesting is how this story circle on the topics of cyber security and the danger of being connected to one. As well as how manipulative and being manipulated human can be when they feel guilt and superior. It's full of human emotions, regrets, and courage on how to keep going even if you're scared. This one is not your typical shoujo manga. I think, it's more like a slice of life/tragic one.

Characters: 10

Every characters on this story is not really lovable, but what's really great is that they're human. They feel the way normal people feel, they have different principles and views in a situation. They have made wrong on other people and they also feel regret for what they've done. They're a handful of characters with a lot of emotions. I love how they successfully overcome their past, the sadness they've felt, not by running from it but by facing and correcting the actions they've been doing. You won't notice each and every bit of progress on every character but if you'll realize it, it's damn different from what they've been in the beginning of the story.

Art: 10

The art is really lovable. I'm so inlove with the way the mangaka express the feelings of every character, how they show their cockiness on their face, when they are angry and shy, when they are frustrated and shocked. But yeah, the protagonist is really handsome. I'm also fascinated on how most of the background is detailed and emotional. I think, I capture a lot of screenshots on this manga alone.

Enjoyment: 10

If you are seeking for a romance manga with just a light theme, a pure characters, and a sweet scenarios, then this is not for you. This story is more of a tragic heavy drama. It's full of regrets and heartache. It's full of sadness that most of the characters bear. If you are the type to like this kind of story like me, then you will definitely love it. You will get attached to it. You will really love it.

Ending: 10

An amazing story is one who leaves no loopholes to the audience. It's when al the questions has been answered and explained. I thought I will be hanged when one of the characters has been left mysterious, but the mangaka explained it a perfect bit that even if you still have questions, it's not that really important because the message, the very important topic has already been answered. And what you want to ask for should just be left in the dark. Well, something like that. Though the ending is not like a fairytale one, where it says that they live happily ever after, or they get married, or they end up together till the day they die, it's satisfying. It feels real and I'm happy the way they end up together.

The female lead, Teru started as a cheerful, intelligent, funny character with a tragic past. As the story progressed, she became more gloomy, and began doing one idiotic action after another. It seems like she purposely puts herself in danger to be rescued by Daisy.

Daisy started as a guardian angel and pillar of support for Teru behind the scenes, and I loved it. However, Daisy also changed a not as competent guardian angel as before and became more in Teru's life. This guy is supposed to be smart and will do everything to protect Teru. Yet, when he confronted someone ... that was trying to hurt Teru, that person attacked Daisy (pretty much admitted that she was trying to hurt Teru) and he let the person go. So, you do not need any spoilers to figure out what happened next.

I liked some of the other characters, but the story focused on Teru and Daisy going back and forth regarding each other's feelings, but not being frank about it. Then, Daisy wanting to disappear because he did not deserve Teru, and Teru afraid Daisy would leave. Maybe that is the plot of the story, because he became too repetitive.

Characters r great I like Kurosaki best because he I mean his name is the same with Ichigoa nd Kurosaki from bleach and u can say that their personality are a kind of connected like Ichigo is a deliquent and and Tasuku is a boy from Deliquent school
Enjoying a manga or not ,it's not important right away, if it gave ayou amessage that would keep your heart fainted then you can just regard it as a masterpiece

I give this manga 10s all across the board. It's AMAZING. The story is extremely enjoyable and the characters are contrast from those that you usually see in shoujo manga. The girl has spunk and she's not afraid to say what she feels. The guy isn't the easiest to deal with, but he cares for the heroine in his own special ways. The story also includes tons of mystery and suspense since as of now, the readers have no idea on what the future holds in story. MORE RELEASES ARE NEEDED

I usually wait until I'm finished with a series before I review, buuuut I can't wait any longer.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Dengeki Daisy is competing for the number one favorite manga spot in my head against Fruits Basket. Quite a few months ago, I picked up this series and honestly could not stop reading it once I started.

The unique storyline caught me hook line and sinker. It's not everyday that you read a manga about a girl who keeps in contact with a mysterious man (codename: DAISY) that her brother provided for her right before he ... died through a cell phone. Kuirosaki is a typical pervert Tsundere and Teru is a typical flat-chested Shoujo girl, even though her attitude is very likeable as well as relatable. I guess she can be considered a type of Tsundere as well, depending on how you look at it.

The art was very masculine (I believed it was because it was written and drawn by a male, but then I realized it was a female so...) but I found that the Motomi captures her characters quite beautifully as well as comically when the time calls for it. Kurosaki -the blonde, perverted lolicon janitor that's actually not so perverted after all- is really the DAISY that Teru contacts with, although she doesn't know this at first. He's handsome. I find him attractive. Although, I can't really recall Teru ever stating what she thinks about his looks, even when her friends constantly do.

The duo's bickering is downright hilarious (Go bald, Kurosaki!!!) even if it tends to be rather predictable and somewhat repetetive at times.

Dengeki Daisy never fails to keep you interested and continually coming back for more. The plot keeps developing and reeling you in with each chapter, but not so much that you can't keep up and end up getting confused. The characters are consistant, and I heard a rumor that this series is going to be coming to a close soon, which is too sad to think about!!

One of the best Shoujo series ever. Read it. And root for an anime with me :3

What an incredible manga. I devoured all I could find in one sitting. At the beginning, the plot seems ordinary at best, mysterious guy protecting a poor and innocent girl? I've read TONS of mangas like that. But Dengeki Dadisy is different.

First of all, the art is stunning. I don't think I've ever seen more beautifully drawn characters; they really are gorgeous, and I'm reading more of this mangaka's work simply to savor the beautiful drawings. Not a single detail is ever missed.

As for the storyline, there's a unique spin to the protection storyline - "Daisy" is a text friend to Teru, so they've never ... really met... or have they? Daisy's always kind, but he's a computer hacker? What kind of person is he - kind or evil? Teru wrestles with all these issues in a very realistic, endearing, and enthralling way. She even has to tackle many of them herself - she's not just your typical innocent and naive heroine. She makes some difficult realizations about herself and her greatest friend that are truly unique and admirable.

The story doesn't only focus on their relationship, however. There's so much more to the plot - a whole cast of characters with their own distinct, unique personalities and backgrounds, a mysterious fake Daisy hacker that threatens Teru's very life... It will keep you turning pages till the very end. I'm desperate for more chapters!

here comes the big surprise: Dangeki Daisy is a interesting and innovative shoujo. Yeah, it was a hell of a surprise to me too - interesting, not cliche shoujo always was an oxymoron :-)

Story: 9/10
The guy is protecting the high school student, who is a neat and smart girl. But it is not a typical shoujo background - the guy has criminal record and is a dangerous hacker, and furthermore has issues with Teru's dead brother. Violent acts, a scheme and mysterious events - it's all there and is somehow connected with Teru and her mysterious guardian, DAISY. his identity is unknown, but only to ... Teru in fact, the reader all the time is cautious all the time what is going on.

Art 8/10
It's ok, but it is not the style I cherish the most. I hate these pontoon-like lips of the characters on coloured pages!

Now this is something I truly love this manga about. Still staying in those lame shoujo conventions (the 2nd base not reached yet :

i came across this manga about 9years ago but dropped it since it was still on going and i hate waiting. i decided that i'll get back to this once all chapters are up. however, came school, got a job and totally forgot my life as an otaku. a few days ago i was bored and suddenly the words "dengeki daisy" snapped on my mind and thought, oh yea what happened to daisy? decided to read it from the beginning and now i'm a bit emotional that i was actually able to finish this after 9 long years. i just dont know where to start ... my life anymore. lol

anyway i really enjoyed this manga. it has a lot of elements, drama, mystery, comedy, romance etc. all i could ask for. a complete package. it would make you cry and it would make you laugh. really, really hard. i love the author's humor.

as for the characters, they are all lovable. i'm happy that though souichiro is dead, we were able to know about him and what kind of personality he has. i was secretly hoping that he's still alive and he just faked his death. lol he's 2nd on my list of favorite characters. next to kurosaki. man, i just love him.

When I read shoujo mangas, I always expect to have a great laugh at how predictable this is, how 'stupid' the main girl is, or how cliché it all becomes in the end, at one point or another. It's just funny to see how the mangakas can find other ways to portray this or that.

When I started reading Dengeki Daisy, it was exactly what I thought I'd find.

Dengeki Daisy has a deep-ish storyline, with a great sense of humor. It is well told and has loveable and realistic characters through a plot full of suspense and "computer programmers".

Sure, there is drama (that's ... what's to expect in mangas in general anyways, no?!), there are stuff that may be too predictable, but the affections that you have for this character or that one is so strong that it keeps you want to read more if it's not for the sense of humor, or to see how this problem will be solved.

Anyways, I recommend this manga to both guys and girls. It's brilliantly told.

Dengeki daisy is the most amazing manga ever, I'm not going to go in very far and give a detailed report but I will say that EVERYTHING about this manga is amazing, it is an absolute masterpiece. The synopsis does it no justice, it in fact makes it sound like a 6/10 manga.
Just read it, damn you! READ IT!

Where do I begin?

This manga is in its own league.
I haven't read anything like this before and I don't regret reading this manga at 2 in the morning.

Its not really romantic honestly, it's more story based instead of just romantic crap. Its one of a kind.

When I started the manga I hoped for the relationship between Teru (the female protagonist) and Kurosaki (the male protagonist) to develop quickly. But it didn't and that's perfectly fine.

If you carry on with the story you see characters develop, build relationships with others and its amazing to read. Not just the characters developing but the background ... story!

Its full of programming, hackers, crackers and codes.
Its an absolute gem among manga's honestly.

The art is amazing, except I think Teru's head is a bit too big (honest opinion, sorry) but how can you resist Kurosaki in glasses.

Story is a 10, hands down.

I recommend this manga to anyone who's looking for a love story that is really truly about the characters or rather I recommend this to anyone looking for a good story.

The only thing I can describe Dengeki Daisy: A MASTERPIECE

Not many mangas move my heart; so far only 2 did, Chrno Crusade and Detective Loki Ragnarok (their endings are quite sad to me)

However, Dengeki Daisy has been successful in moving my heart very much. I cannot wait for the manga to finish; I really want to know the ending, and I hope it's a happy one too! I am actually quite depressed due to how to story is going so far (no spoilers!), but I'm hooked. Very much!

I know I have rated everything about this manga as 10, but that is what it deserves; nothing ... less but certainly more.

AHHHHH can't wait!
