Patches of links, past memories, the remembrances and the repressions.
We slowly delve deeper into the mind and life of Emanon as we go on a journey with her while reading this manga. We get to see parts of her that desire for a stable family yet she is never able to have one because of her excruciating instinct to travel. She meets people, she falls in love but she always has to move on. None of them can be with her for as long as her consciousness resides within her as she travels through time and different bodies, carrying with herself the inheritance of
all the memories of her past selves.
The art of the manga is quite unique. It's rough yet subtly and breathtakingly beautiful. It has the ability to actually transport you to places and make you feel the surroundings vividly. And yes, with so many frames drawn just to show transitions and moments of time, the manga has a nostalgic feel to it which can relax the readers.
The characters of the manga are no doubt wonderful. In fact, if one might think about a character that possesses memories that are as old as life on earth itself, Emanon is portrayed quite realistically with all the conflicts in her mind that she faces and all the burdens that she carries. Most of the characters in Emanon are quite realistic and reasonable, though the most explored character remains Emanon. And the transition between different Emanons as she is borne in different bodies, leaving behind her past selves is hauntingly beautiful.
The manga gives a very endearing and satisfying experience for the readers yet leaves them wanting to live through more of Emanon (Or should I say at least it did to me?).
