“How is this a manga?” I’m not trying to slight this manga in any way; rather, I’m just a bit confused. Apparently this is supposed to be the SERIALIZED version of the web comic source — you know, where an editorial department looks over the author’s work to make sure he makes an actual storyline. Yet, this manga had nothing of the sort, and instead, each chapter was as short as the web comic while being the exact same panels but colored? Seriously, I thought I read the wrong source at first, so I checked its raw chapters, and shocker, it’s the same thing.

that rant aside, this manga has EVERY flaw an average web comic would have: weak characters and story. Most web comics don’t develop their characters or form an actual plot line because they follow their set premise at the start of the story, and it works. It’s just small snippets every now and then with a rehashed execution of their premise.
Yet, you have to remind yourself this is a manga — a story that’s supposed to have an overarching development between characters or the world, and this manga has none of that. Whenever there is an attempt to make conflict, it gets introduced randomly, and it’s solved at the speed of light. There’s no tension that could be formed due to how fast it’s introduced and solved, making for a lackluster story.
As for the characters themselves, all of them are… you guessed it, shallow. None of them receive a proper introduction, and they follow their set personalities. I mean, of course the heroine is cute and all because who wouldn’t want a hot super mommy that protects and melts over you but is also really lazy. After her set personality, there’s zero further development with the mc, as it’s just a continual process of her being embarrassed.
As for the side characters, they’re all disposable and are made for comedy reasons. There’s not really any deeper meaning or purpose for them besides for adding some extra interactions with the main cast.
I might’ve dogged on this manga a bit, but it’s also nothing serious, so it’s pretty cute and fun because like I said before, “who wouldn’t want a hot super mommy that protects and melts over you but is also really lazy.” If you don’t take it seriously or dive too deep into it, then the story’s light-hearted and fine. As a webcomic it’s enjoyable; as a manga, it fails.
