It is tough to analyze Himesama "Goumon" no Jikan desu due to its nature of being a Gag Manga, but it is always worth a try.

First off, you need to understand that there is no real progression in the story (except for a few sporadic chapters) so the pacing is extremely tiring if you like to binge-reading. In a normal work this would be an extremely negative point, but due to the proposal of the manga it is understandable that this occurs even if it is exhausting.

The story boils down to an eternal cycle of a princess being tortured by various kinds of torture (mostly ... just food). Therefore, the main characters tend to be only the princess, her talking sword and the torturer of the day. In the beginning the pattern was:

- Torture begins,
- Princess tries to resist,
- Torturer shows a new perspective on the method of torture,
- Princess gives in to her wishes,
- A ridiculous secret is told,
- Reaction of the demon king.

As time goes by, in order to avoid further exhaustion and to focus on its strengths, the author begins to cut some steps from the formula by either drastically reducing the princess's resistance or by removing the details of the revealed secret and the demon king's reaction (the story even recognizes this change and makes some jokes about it).

About the characters, it is possible to say that they really fulfill their roles and are, to a certain extent, very memorable. The author's solution to avoid a deterioration in this area is to promote a rotation of torturers, which allows the princess to have different interactions in each chapter and that the development of the characters can be reduced in a coherent way. It really works, especially if you read the work sporadically.

About the art, I consider it average with some moments where it becomes quite good (usually involving the culinary dishes of the chapter), even so I believe it fulfills its role.

Overall, I recommend the work even if it is not the best gag manga out there.

P.S. The best character in the manga is the Maou!

It's fun to read at first but it gets repetitive very fast. I couldn't sustain my interest. I mean it's the same thing again and again. It would be fun to read it once in a while though for entertainment, but not to be read on a go. That'd be boring.

The main character is a princess who has been captured by her enemies in a dungeon and asked to spill the beans (royal confidential secrets) but she doesn't give in. Then, the enemies decide to torture her through delicious food, video games, and mundane pleasure which she cannot help but give in to. It's fun ... to read at first but it gets quite repetitive over time.

It's cute, it's harmless. It's...annoying.

You don't notice it at first because of the occasional twist but pretty much every single chapter is the exact same thing over and over again. From the timing to the punchlines it's so fucking samey with little to no difference, maybe it will be a different food or a different animal or a different game but each time it leads to the-

EXACT. SAME. FUCKING. JOKES.

Again it's cute, it's even a little funny at the start, but at chapter 60 I just got so bored.

The characters aren't much to write home about, they have nice designs but similarly to the humor ... they all seem so samey and never develop much. The only character that somewhat stands out is Vanilla.

Overall, it's free. If you're really bored and anti piracy you should check this one out on mangaplus.

Otherwise I would not reccomend it.
