| A super strong fencing instructor with the mentality of a loser who will gather a harem of students...ok, the first episode was correct and despite the genericness, storytelling at a level that one would expect from a 13-year-old (which is rather typical for isekai-like creations) quite enjoyable, the fights were good but in the first episodes it's usually standard, the animation will probably deteriorate quickly so I'm not counting on anything xD 2/5 |

i dug around a bit earlier because i watched the EDub first as well. from my other post on this Ep1 thread: "Blu Digital GroupINC out of LA... mhm never heard of them... aha... Central Post LA got bought out back in 2022... aha. i hadn't heard that. one of Netflix's go-to subcontractors for subtitles and dubbing... but this one is streaming on Amazon? that sucks, this title is going to get schit viewership on that platform. bummer, i enjoyed the episode. pass the title around folks so it gets good word of mouth. because Amazon's anime profile and saturation in the marketplace is a total toxic waste dump."
so i'm betting this Edub was done by the Central Post LA staff and if you read the end-credits for the English cast... i personally don't recognize a single name there... i would have to get on IMDB or perhaps BehindTheVoiceActors sites and double-check.
the only other NA streaming platform i can think of with worse anime work than Amazon is Disney+ ... so i'm not surprised your file was corrupted. mine worked just fine, 1080p and all the bells n whistles were AOK, even using one of those grey-web streaming sites.

| @KiliianSleipnir I was first in shock, dub before sub? How can that be. Then after a while things turned to normal. I have absolutely no idea what happened or who did what and where. To me it looked and sounded like a mistake. It seems like you've gotten to the bottom of it... Wish I could say more about the show, actors or whatever. But I can't. |

| Been a while since I read this so I don't remember much but it was a pretty good first episode. Character designs are good and sword play was pretty nice but most importantly, the female lead is cute. |
| Wasn't expecting the fight to be CGI, but man they blended it so well, it was quite smooth and dynamic. I wish more anime would do that actually rather than the still frame BS |
| Nice. Another old guy story as an underdog. This really feels like the parry-oldguy-series, and the story is at that level. but this one is probably focused on his romantic life. I'm expecting a lot from this series. |

| Reading the comments I noticed I'm not the only one who noticed the mushokuish vibe. Disclaimer im anime only: The episode was fine, i dont think the studio is aiming for this anime to be the breakout show of the season but i feel if the direction and pacing was giving a lil more care and thought i think it could've been my Kaiju No.8 of this season. Doesn't matter how much time passes i can't hop on board with the 2d 3d animation mix. I definitely prefer 2d and tend to stay far away from 3d animation. Certain tropes im kinda over, like why are all his students that reached these high noteworthy positions all females and why they all have to be so admiring/in love with him. On a side note I think i have a personal beef with the dad's character design he just looks out of place, like he was suppose to be in another series😂😂😂😂. Well imma stick to my 3 episode rule it's definitely better than TBATE so far.  |

| Chill first episode with good animation. Beryl is likable enough and the girls are all cute. The little drama there is is quickly resolved so let's see whether this remains a slow life show. Not that I'd mind, I love slow life shows but a little depth wouldn't hurt either. |

| I was expecting more fight scenes with just finishing moves like every other recent anime especially isekai's has been shoving down our throats. but surprisingly the fights are decent, they actually show the fights really well, im impressed. I will continue watching for this alone. |
| The plot is relatively unique, the pace was a nice mix of slice of life and action, sprinkled with comedy here and there. I like that we get a middle-aged man as the MC, that is pretty rare even if we do see it more nowadays. It was very touching to see how many of his former students got successful in life and were grateful to him. Allucia is really head over heels for him haha, I won't get my hopes up for the show becoming a full-blown romance, but I'm looking forward to see more of her clumsy attempts at getting closer to him :) A really great start, I think I'm gonna like this one a lot |

| Definitelly has many favorable points going for it. Specially the animation and art style. However the false humbleness is exhausting and frustrating. Just get an arranged marriage with a proper age woman, you know? Such respected local swordsman would'nt have some ladies eyes on him? Spare me. Or his father wouldn't be able to send letters to get him a wife long ago? And like them make him seem so poor, but he is famous. Wouldn't rich families be sending their children to learn for at least 5 five years by now? If he is so poor, can his family afford paying the new instructor? |
