Dandadan Anime 'Exceeds Expectations' in New Reveal From Top Shonen Jump Editor

On Dandadan, Lin said, "TV anime Dandadan, which began airing in October after careful and detailed discussions, has also achieved the number one spot on many streaming sites globally ✨. We are also grateful for the large number of reprints of the original comics. It [the anime] has exceeded the production team's expectations, and we are very happy that people all over the world have enjoyed it." Lin was credited as a producer on the Dandadan anime, representing the original manga.

the manga before the anime aired has 4 million copies in circulation but now its 8 million copies its not as great as other shueisha manga greats and even frieren and blue lock manga sales that was boosted each to 20 plus million copies after their anime aired but good enough for them then what matters is the legal streaming profit as the case for chainsaw man being monster hit in legal streaming sites

I’m happy for it’s success. It’s well deserved in my opinion. Once the pre orders go up for the blu ray I’ll definitely be getting it.

There's room for improvement in many aspects of the story such as developing a cohesive narrative that makes the pacing feel less episodic

But Momo is easily the best main character I've seen in new anime. That is the single most impressive thing in all of Dandadan.

It exceeded my expectations because I didn’t have any! Still, best show for its season. Can’t say anything that hasn’t been said already, but just WOW!

If only the season 1 would have ended on a better spot rather than leaving us on that vague cliff hanger, it would have been easy 9/10 show for me. Still a great show nonetheless (A high 8/10)

@FutoiOtaku Your case is different from mine. I set very high expectations since everybody was hyping it up. I'm talking about HxH level expectations😂 and was left underwhelmed. I probably shouldn't do that again, lol.

If you’re underwhelmed by that, there’s literally nothing good enough for you. Sounds like a miserable way to live. I’ll just keep my current levels of enjoyment and stay happy, thanks!

@Rango17 Expect any shows with super high expectation will only make you disappointed with it regardless.

@FutoiOtaku I disagree. I set high expectations from shows like HxH, AOT, Death Note, Vinland Saga, and my mind was still blown by their writing. Somehow, I expected the same from Dandadan, lol. I can mention many more shows that either met my expectations or went above and beyond. I like Dandadan btw, I don't hate it. It just doesn't live up to the hype😔. I really do wish I felt the same way as everyone else when watching the shows, but it is what it is. Please don't take offense, I'm just stating my feelings. Somehow, the fans label me as a hater whenever I stated my opinions these days and I don't mean you, just the anime community in general.

@Rango17 it's because of the cliff hanger, tht's all me too quite disappointed but still great though, e7 especially ground breaking animation , it already reached tht level so no complaint's from me, i think you might expected some intense battles tht's y,
as entertainment wise it was extraordinary throwing metaphorical jokes all around the places, frm start to finish tht's y it was great

@Rango17 I’m not offended, personal taste is never offensive to me when stated in a civil manner. I find your choices less impressive than a lot of things, AOT and Deathnote both started well but lost direction midway (for me) and I can’t honestly take Vinland as an anime, it’s an animated show made in Japan so is literally one but to me it’s something different, in a similar category to Orb. I like them both BTW. But about the 8 mark to me.
But enjoy what you like and say what you like as long as it’s considerate of people who don’t share your opinion. Unless they start beef of course 😂

@FutoiOtaku I agree with you. AOT started to fall off after the Shiganshina arc and Death Note falls off after L's death. Then again, no show is perfect and the shows I mentioned do their best at what they do. 86 and the Monogatari series also went beyond my expectations, just to name a few. I still can't get over 86, even after years of watching it. The last two episodes were just perfect and some of the best eps all time. I get what you mean about Vinland Saga 😂. It's probably because of the setting and culture of the anime. Anyways, thanks for understanding and remaining civil. Hope you have a good day.
