| That's Japanese anime for you. That's normal in Japanese anime. They're been normalizing it since the inception of ecchi, harem, reverse harem, etc. anime since the early 1980s. 😳 Demon Slayer is being watched by 5-year old to 10-year old Japanese kids. In the West, teenagers or the young adult audience watch Demon Slayer (battle-oriented Shōnen manga). When it comes to Oshi no Ko, Japanese teens and young adults voraciously consume this kind of media because the series is eye-catching, it's an eye-candy series (anime and manga), the music is a banger, the animation transitions beautifully on the screen, and merchandise such as anime/manga figurines are also helping making the series more commercially successful. In the West, Westerners don't propagate anime. Westerners don't promote incest, grooming, violence in kids' cartoons broadcasted on television. Westerners don't consume anime as much as the East (20% audience versus 80% audience). Incest, grooming, suicide, self-harm, death, idol-recruiting, kidnapping, etc. are themes you rarely see in Western adult cartoons but often see in Eastern shows (anime) targeting a young demographic. Also, in the East, violence themes have been incorporated in cartoons (anime) targeting the teens, young adults, and kids since the early 1980s, 1990s, 2000s (Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, Tokyo Ghoul, etc.). |

| I haven't posted in a very long time so I came back just to say this: If they go the incest route, it would 100%, no, 1000% ruin this series for me. It would be a shame. S1 was amazing. I'm looking forward to S2. If I know that the end goal is incest, I'll drop it. I haven't read the manga so I won't read much around here. Those "incest" memes have become so rampant that it caught my attention. |

| Funny that this topic is being discussed since the ships of Kana and Akane are sunk down. I am a Ruby fan and I do ship Aqua x Ruby but I never really thought of this manga will go towards incest. Heck, in my point of view, I don't see Aqua x Ruby as incestual relationship because of their previous lives but that might be considered as pedophilia although everything here is beside the point. Back to topic, as long as Aqua has common sense, the incest route is not going to happen. Sure Ruby, according to chapter 123, she will do her best to get Aqua's attention as she has undying love for him but to Aqua/Gorou, he never thought of Sarina/Ruby as love interest and that is something everyone should have known and until now(This recent chapter 123), his feelings for Sarina/Ruby are still the same. Unless the author will do something about it and will try to touch the incest subject but I am not sure how that will fit to the series. All I can see is that Ruby will only have one-sided love and Aqua prefers to be alone and not having any romantic interest towards anyone. Or, everything will lead to here:  |

| The incest bait got me to read the manga again to see the dumpster fire. I was pleasantly surprised and ended up liking some of the recent 40 or so chapters that I caught up on. I'll be honest, as much as they pushed for it in Chapter 123, Aqua x Ruby is going to be a one-sided relationship with Ruby wanting it to happen. Aqua isn't seeking a relationship, he is just a vengeful spirit. |
| Also this heavily supports theory that this story will continue with incest route. It depends on whether it will have a happy ending or a sad one, with another reincarnation. Tsukuyomi's and Amaterasu's story didnt end well in the end. Tsukuyomi's anger and violent actions were the reason of their sad end. |
| Anyone who's expecting incest to happen should double check their reading comprehension and maybe limit(entirely) their exposure to ************ content. I literally can't describe how much this stupidity gets on my nerves because of the "fans" who don't understand what is going on in this story. This is the first time I came across such a good series that suffers so much because of it's wide appeal since Chainsaw Man, where people were/are shipping Denji with Makima (Bruh!!) and even then it wasn't as bad as this. I feel like those who expect incest didn't pay enough attention while those who are wanting it are ignoring everything this series is trying to tell/explore....simply desiring to see an escapist fantasy... Seriously...We're talking about RUBY AND AQUA....!! What character arc they have? What development to they had with each other and other characters? What are the implications on a thematic level? I'm sorry BUT "that would be a bad move" and the thematic commentary is that lies can become the truth...so what are the lies regarding their character and their relationship? Aqua's entire character arc revolves around him getting over his desire for revenge that causes him stress/panic attacks/suffering and doesn't let him fully embrace his new identity as Aquamarine Hoshino, Amemiya Goro being just a shadow a this point that torments him with guilt...It was explicitly said "the bridge between me and Aqua Hoshino is disappearing" and during the time he thought his father is dead he actually made significant progress, so anything that would make him act as Amemiya Goro would not only negate his development but it would be a thematic contradiction because the fact that he is Aqua Hoshino, Ai's SON is the lie that needs to become the truth in order for his character arc to be completed.... "If this sixteen-year-old idol would come to date you, would you accept?" It almost feels like Ai's image in Ruby is giving him the opportunity to live the fantasy that he had as a fan of Ai when he was Goro but because he isn't the same person anymore(literally), he will instead showcase his development by rejecting anything remotely romantic from "Ai"...Not obvious at all that they will become BROTHERS and closer to each other after this situation gets resolved....It's almost as if the lie that they are brother and sister will become the truth as well by addressing the lie....SERIOUSLY!! Why isn't this obvious? Also, Ruby's character arc implies her getting over her childhood crush on Amemiya Goro and moving on in the same way Aqua's character arc also implies him getting over his crush that he had on Ai as Goro, which is why she had the same reaction after she found out that he was murdered, wanting revenge, like Aqua when he discovered that Ai's murderer had an accomplice. It's an obvious parallel to make her going through something similar and make them get closer to each other as a result... And don't even let me start to talk about Aqua "You violated a city ordinance for taking a minor to your place past 11:00 PM." Hoshino's relationships with other characters, especially Akane and Kana...but also Taishi and Myako... During the entire series up until this point, any form of genuine romance took place within the love triangle, so the story to take a sudden turn in another direction without any build-up would result in food for backlash, creating one of the rare occasions where the shippers might be in the right in their eventual complaints...(I personally find shipping wars really annoying but not nearly as distaseful and awful...) Let's go backward!!....I remember a conversation on a bridge that Aqua had with someone and that someone said something (just) apparently out of nowhere at the end of that chapter...And THAT was another moment where the story gave the audience an ultimatum, but ending in a conflict that got resolved in the literally next chapter.....almost like ch.123-124 potentially? (Akane is seriously the most misunderstood out of all the characters...). So no, the incest is not happening!! It would make no sense for the story at every level and it would result in too much backlash, making a lot of readers to potentially drop the series... (Disclaimer: This is how things are right now. The story can go in another direction with the characters BUT ONLY WITH THE PROPER DEVELOPMENT...) Btw...This being the case, the memes shouldn't be taken seriously!! |
